The Messenger of Death

Chapter 216: troublesome master

Chapter 216: troublesome master

"Jacob, you took your time getting here." Nana calmed down and the snowflakes that materialized due to her frustration disappeared.

Even after the snowflakes had disappeared, the aftermath of the snowflake that exploded still remained.

"I tried my best," Jacob answered.

Jacob was the person Alex thought to be a child. Although he didn't see when he arrived, Alex couldn't sense anything from him.

['Wait, this is Jacob? The sect leader of the Sword Heaven? The leaders of theses terrifyingly strong individuals?'] Al exclaimed.

The reason why Al was shocked, is because, the person that Nana referred to as Jacob is supposed to be the sect leader of the Sword Heaven, but the person standing in front of them was no different from an 11-year-old child.

There was nothing that indicated that this child was capable enough to be the sect leader of the people that just terrified Alex with their aura. Even his voice sounded like that of a child.

He had black hair and light brown eyes.

['Nana called him a short man, but this is a child, right?'] Lex too wanted to get some clarity on this.

Jacob had a white robe on, one that looked too long and oversized. The hands of the robe covered the arms of Jacob, completely.

"This is Jacob?" Alex blurted out in a demeaning tone, however, it was unintentional.

Immediately he said that everyone there but Jacob and Nana gave a negative reaction.

The people that came to greet Nana frowned at Alex for the comment he made.

Thunder glared at him for a second, as if saying with her eyes that he should know his place, but she looked elsewhere before she infuriates Nana once again.

Alex only realized that what he said was disrespectful after he had said it. He still wasn't one that knew exactly what manners were.

"Hahaha!!" Nana laughed at his comment. She placed a hand over Alex's shoulder and pushed his head down a bit.

Doing this exposed a bit of the mark that she drew on his nape, from under the collar of his shirt. "Yes, that's Jacob. Hahahaha!!"

After a few more seconds of laughter, Nana stopped and whipped the tears that had formed by the sides of her eyes.

Jacob smiled at Alex's comment, and in truth, he wasn't angry nor did he feel insulted by what Alex said.

'For the Mistress to hold someone of the opposite sex that close to her body, this boy must be someone important to her.' Jacob thought.

'A long lost brother? No, they don't look alike and I have never heard anything like a missing son from the clan. A childhood friend?

No, he's too young to be a childhood friend of hers. Could he be her son? Definitely not.'

Jacob was trying to wrap his head around Alex's identity and his relationship with Nana.

Right at that moment, his eyes landed on the mark Nana drew on Alex's nape. He only caught a glimpse of it, but that was enough for him to get an idea of what it was.

His eyes opened wide as he stared at Nana with a stunned and frightened expression, mashed together on his little face.

Jacob then noticed the deep blue hairpin that Alex had on his hair. This almost made Jacob vomit blood.

His head started turning red. 'That better not be what I think it is. If it is, then I might be implicated by the Mistress's intentions.' Jacob thought.

Nana had a knowing smile on her face when she saw his expression, she purposely bent Alex's head so that Jacob could see the mark. After all, he was the only one amongst the people here that would know what it means.

Alex looked at Nana then took a glance at Jacob. Seeing how red Jacob was, Alex thought that he was furious.

He turned his gaze back to Nana. "I don't think I should say," Alex replied.

He wasn't one that feared making enemies, but at least he was smart enough to know that the people here weren't people that he should put in that category, at least for the time being.

"Say whatever you want to say, no one here will dare to do anything to my disciple, whether I'm here or not," Nana claimed.

"Disciple!?" Jacob exclaimed. "You gave your mark and the hairpin, that hairpin, to your disciple!!?" Jacob shouted at Nana.

"Yes I did, is there anything wrong with it?" Nana arched a brow at him.

Jacob so much wanted to say yes and reprimand Nana for bringing her trouble here, to the branch that he was in charge of, but he couldn't because he knows how crazy she is.

So he tightened his lips and shook his head. "How can there be anything wrong when a wise person like the Mistress was the one that made such decisions." He answered.

"Good, Alex, tell us what you were thinking of when you saw Jacob for the first time." Nana insisted.

She used her hand to pinch a small part of Alex's neck. "Well, I expected the leader of these individuals to be more imposing and intimidating. No offense though." He quickly added.

"What do you know!?" Thunder said in Jacob's defense.

Nana glared at Thunder once again. "If you disrespect my disciple again, I promise you, I will end you." Nana's aura started to surface again, this time it was directed at Thunder.

So only she could feel the pressure. Thunder immediately fell to the ground and landed on her knees.

-Boom!!

Her knees created a huge crater on the floor. The frozen part of the forest started to collapse due to the force that came along with Thunder's knees when it crashed.

The crater that she created was quite deep and wide, as soon as it happened, Alex felt a force wrap around him. Suddenly Alex found himself floating in the air.

So was everyone else that was there, everyone except for Thunder.

"Mistress Nana please forgive my subordinate, she didn't mean to disrespect you or your disciple." Jacob quickly pleaded for Thunder.

"This isn't the first time. Have I been too lenient these past few years, to the extent that everyone has forgotten who I am?"

"We dare not Mistress!!!" Everyone there chorused in fear as they knelt on the air, including Jacob.

Now only Alex and Nana were left standing in the air.

"Her life is in my disciple's hands."

"Forgive her young master." They all pleaded with Alex this time.

"Young mas-" Thunder tried to plead too but Nana increased the pressure that was on her and shut her up.

"Mistress Young master, please, forgive her. Rather than make enemies, it is better to make friends." Jacob attempted to reason with Alex.

"Are you threatening my disciple in front of me, Jacob?" Nana tilted her head a bit.

"I wouldn't dare to do so even if I had 9 lives," Jacob responded quickly.

"What do you say, Alex?" Nana asked as she turned and looked at him.

Within all of this, Alex was still in a state of shock. All of this that was happening was because of him.

People that we're able to put fear in him, were all on their knees, begging him to forgive someone that he took no offense from. He didn't know what to do.

['Guys, what should I do?'] He asked his alternate personalities.

['If you forgive the woman, will Nana get angry at us?'] Lex reasoned.

['If we don't forgive her, then we would be making enemies of people that we have no chance against in the absence of our master.'] Xander pointed out.

['Would they really come after me, even when they know who Nana is?'] Alex wondered.

['They wouldn't dare to do so unless they are certain that Nana wouldn't be able to find the culprit. If she can't find the culprit then Nana wouldn't know who to come for. It's a gamble.'] Xander explained.

['Jacob was bold enough to threaten us in front of her, meaning he is capable of coming after us in her absence.'] Al mentioned. ['We still have to worry about the troubles the mark and hairpin that she gave us would bring.'] He added.

['Let her be, forgive her. After all, we didn't even take offense in the first place.'] Lex decided.

"I-I forgive her," Alex announced.

-Sigh!

As soon as they heard those words, they all gave a heavy sigh of relief.

Nana chuckled and retracted her aura. Thunder, who had been tormented by Nana's aura for a while, began shivering violently. She laid flat on the ground as she had used every ounce of energy in her to keep her bones intact.

The sight of her rekindled that fear that they in the Sword Heaven had for Nana's clan members.

"T-thank you, y-young m-master." She stammered as she showed her gratitude to Alex.

"Thank you, young master!!" Everyone there chorused.

"Now that we are done with that" Nana paused and looked at Jacob with a neutral expression.

"You," Nana spoke softly, but to the ears of everyone there, her voice was so loud that it was capable of shattering their bodies. "How dare you threaten my disciple of front of me?" She added.

She made sure to protect Alex from her ability, but despite that, he was still affected, just not as much as the rest.

Alex just realized how troublesome his master is.

"Forgive me young master!!" Jacob said quickly.

"This matter is now between me and you. This is disrespect directed at me."

The calamity that Nana's voice brought to their psyche, increased with each passing second
