The Messenger of Death

Chapter 191: gustavo

Chapter 191: gustavo

Whereas everything seemed normal on the outside, a lot of people were actually panicking internally.

On their way to class, Alex could see the paranoia and fear in the eyes and on the faces of the majority that they came across. Most of the students that they walked past or walked behind, turned to look at their backs.

Every time they hear a footstep or a twig snapping, they flinch.

"Hey!" Katherine abruptly stopped a brown badge student that walked past them.

"Y-Yes," The guy was frightened by her.

"Why is everyone acting so paranoid today?" She asked.

"Have you heard about the 4 students that were killed last night?" The brown badge student asked meekly.

"Yeah, who hasn't? What does that have to do with the way everyone is acting? 4 students were assassinated and 1 staff. The killer is gone, that is if the killer is smart enough to know that staying here will only lead to his or her imminent death." Katherine responded.

['Indeed.'] Al thought to himself.

"There's a news going around the school that the killer is from amongst us, the students, I don't know where or who the informant is, but I do know that the accuracy of this news is almost 70%. When you hear how the students were killed then you will understand why I said so Umm sorry, can you let go of me? I have to get to class now." The guy said.

"Oh, okay," Katherine uttered. She was a little bit out of it after she heard what he had to say.

"A student killed other students and then killed a staff? Isn't that-"

"A wishful thinking," Alex interjected.

No one knew who the assassin was, but there has been news going around, that the killer is from amongst the students. This is the cause of the paranoia that they had been seeing from the students.

"Now I understand, who wouldn't be paranoid? The killer might just be standing next to anyone." Adrian uttered.

"Don't, say that." Drake cried out. "Damn, you are going to make me paranoid too. A student that can kill a sky realm cultivator, I wouldn't even see my death coming at me." Drake looked around after saying that.

"If what they say is true then that person's cultivation has to be nothing less than the sky realm. And if there was a student like that in the academy, the authorities would have already found out about that person." Katherine explained.

"I agree with Katherine," Camron concurred.

"Let's just head to class." Alex started walking ahead of his teammates.

['Even if I can guess where this news came from, how do they know that it was a student that killed that woman? I mean, it could have been anyone that did that right, do the dots even connect? I have a bad feeling about this.'] Alex thought.

['Oh no. Don't start with this all over again.'] Al exclaimed. ['Can't you do something about having these bad feelings?'] He questioned.

"I wish I could," Alex replied.

"Huh, what did you say?" Emma asked Alex.

"Nothing important."

Upon arrival to their class, Alex could hear the main topic of today's gossip. They could hear their classmates talk about the murder victims, throwing their own assumptions and imaginations around. From one sheep to another, looking for who will believe their nonsense.

Alex sighed and shook his head as he stepped into the class and made his way to the same spot that he sat on, yesterday.

"Hey guys, it's the seraphim team." Someone announced their arrival.

"Hey captain," A guy called out to Camron.

Camron turned and faced the guy that called. "What do you think about the assassination, aren't you scared?" He asked.

"And why should I be? Aren't y'all just spreading rumors? If I start to panic because of baseless assumptions from mindless sheep, it will be a shame to my surname." Camron answered and faced his front.

His reply made Alex smile and the rest of his teammates, chuckle.

['Sometimes, the best response to questions like that, is to let the person asking to know that they are stupid.'] Al commented.

"Hmph! Arrogant, just because of your family's name. You are no one without them." The guy mocked. Camron heard what he said but paid him no reaction.

"Who knows, his arrogance might make him the next target of the assassin." A blue badge student attempted to scare Camron. This student was one of the people that moved around with Naomi.

His effort was to no avail as Camron acted as if he didn't hear a thing that the guy said.

"I don't think he will be the next target." Alex could recognize this voice, and for some reason, he knew what this person looked like. It was the same person that was praising him yesterday in class, and also the person that he labeled as a stalker.

"Why do you say so?" The blue badge student that made that statement asked.

"I heard from a very reliable source, that the students that were killed were all underlings of a class-3 ancient bloodline student in the academy, the one with the surname Kawataro, a guy called Duna if I'm not mistaken." The stalker revealed.

-Gasp!!

Almost everyone in the class gasped, including some of Alex's teammates. Drake was the only one that seemed to react differently. He froze and his eyes were wide open. He too used to be an underling of Duna.

Camron didn't gasp, but he reacted to that information. Although he didn't believe it, if it was true, then there might be a lot more at stake than just the lives of the students in the school.

Alex was the only one that didn't give it a reaction, he had a lazy expression on.

"So this might just be an assassination targeted at just the people affiliated with the Class-3 bloodline family, if it is, then" The blue badge student paused. He looked like he was scared of what was going to happen. "What about Duna, is he alright?" The guy asked.

"He is fine," The stalker answered.

"Unfortunately," Alex whispered.

"You, whatever your name is, where did you get this information from?" Katherine questioned.

"My name is Gustavo, and let's just say that I was passing by when it happened." The stalker responded.

"But you said that you got this information from a very reliable source." She reminded him.

"Yes I did, I am that reliable source," Gustavo replied proudly, and the whole class was suddenly filled with silence. They couldn't believe that they almost panicked because of a piece of unverified information.

"He's a stalker," Alex broke the silence.

"Hahahahaha!!!" The class suddenly turned to a place bustling with laughter.

Gustavo laughed too. "You seem to be misunderstanding yesterday's incident, Alexander." He said nervously.

"What is there to misunderstand? I caught you following me around, case closed, end of discussion." Alex mentioned lazily and dismissed Gustavo without even leaving him a chance to explain himself.

"Alright, alright. Let's say that I am a stalker I know what-"

"What will happen if what he said is true?" Alex interrupted Gustavo and asked Camron.

"Well, many things that are not necessarily good-"

"If what I said is true, then things would turn from bad to very terrible." Gustavo interrupted.

"With the unrest that has been going on in the capital city, if the offspring of a class-3 bloodline family is being targeted, this is like starting another civil war. One that is worse than the first that almost took place." He explained and made his way over to where Alex and Camron were seated.

Now Alex had a good look at his stalker, He was a guy with a round face, thick eyebrows with brown eyes, black kinky hair, pointed nose, and had a little soul patch beards under his lips.

Gustavo is a thick guy, but not thick enough to be considered fat or chubby. He was about 5'11 and had tanned skin.

Gustavo had a creepy smile on his face but Alex and Camron didn't give him much of a glance.

Camron was about to finish what he wanted to say, but he was interrupted again, by the same person.

"The civil war is what many people fear. Most wish and hope that this is all a coincidence. They'd rather want the assassin to kill randomly than target the offspring of a class-3 ancient bloodline family." He added.

Gustavo kept on raising his brows as he was speaking as if he was trying to pass some kind of message to Alex.

Alex frowned and said; "Are your eyebrows going through some kind of spasm?"

"Huh, no. Don't you get what I'm trying to tell you?"

['That I might have started a civil war, yeah I do.'] He thought.

"I do, but what does that have to do with your eyebrows?" Alex replied.

Gustavo sighed. "You don't understand what I'm trying to tell you? I don't want to say this part out but," He leaned on the table in front of Alex looked left and right, then indicated with his hand that Alex should come closer to him.

Alex only arched a brow at him and didn't make any attempt to come closer to him. Gustavo saw that he wasn't going to do as he asked and then he brought himself closer and asked Alex to lend him his ear.

"I know what you did last night, Hehehe." Gustavo disclosed.
