Chapter 269 - Sworn Enemy
Leena's joy flooded like a flower, and her spirits bounded higher, hearing the extraordinary piece of news. For four years, she has been searching for her savior, and at last, today, she got a breakthrough. Like a child squealing in delight, Leena raced towards Devin and hugged him tightly. ''Thank you so much for finding him, Devin.''
Devin lifted his hand to pat Leena's head, but his fists clenched in the middle. His heart seared in pain, witnessing Leena's happiness directed towards the other man. Pain ripped through his chest, poking his heart with tons of sharp needles. When he promised to find the man, Devin did not feel sad, but there was an immense sense of oppression in his heart today.
Leena released herself from the hug when she felt something suddenly went wrong with Devin. True to her intuition, his facial expression hardened. ''What's wrong, Devin? Are you not happy?'' Extending her hands towards his face, Leena pinched his brows to loosen up his tight muscles.
Grasping Leena's hand, Devin kissed her knuckles. ''No, Sweetheart. I am happy.'' He shouldn't get disappointed over this matter. The man has given a second life to his Leena, and he can't drown in his jealousy. If not for him, he wouldn't have a chance to meet Leena. He should genuinely thank him for that matter. Leena is in his arms, and it is all that matters. No one can take her away from him. ''I got a little envy seeing you smile for some other man. I heard from a little bird that only her husband can make her happy?'' To not sound serious, Devin playfully teased her. Leena has been searching for that man for four long years, and he doesn't want to upset her with his foul mood.
''Don't tease me. I only wanted to thank him for saving me.'' She pouted like a wiry cat. Not only thank that man, Leena wanted to ask how he knew about her. The day he cried, calling her name, was still fresh in her memory. Despite her injuries, she felt his heart palpitating with fear.
''Alright, I am not teasing you anymore.'' Devin turned serious. ''When do you want to meet him?''
''Tomorrow?'' Leena eagerly looked at him for Devin's reply. The quicker, the better because Leena was not able to control her curiosity.
'Impatient brat.' Devin muttered under his breath.
''Fine. I will arrange it then.''
''Thank you, babylicious.'' Leena kissed Devin's cheek; her face lit up with a bright smile. ''By the way, what's his name, and how did you find his address?''
''France asked the hospital group heads to check with the staff. The first time you got admitted into the hospital on that night, the doctors and nurses were tending to your wounds, and they haven't got a glimpse of the man who brought you to the hospital. So, they couldn't help us. It was not yielding any results. So, two months back, we made a special request to try with the patients. Lucky to us, a patient sitting outside has seen him.''
''But how did the patient know the address? How did they know about me?'' Leena quizzed. ''Do you think we got a fake call? What if the patient is a fraud money-grubber?'' Leena doesn't want to soar heights until she receives accurate information. She doesn't want to mistake her savior for some other man. He holds a special place in her heart. Of course, no one can replace Devin.
''I had the same question initially, but the patient we are talking about is none other than Carlos Ellison, one of the most influential business magnets. He stayed there for a while to treat his appendix.'' Devin explained.
''Carlos Ellison?'' Leena pondered. ''I think Francy knows him.''
''You are right,'' Devin replied.
Leena's facial expression hinted to Devin that she is still skeptical and not accepting the reason. He lifted her chin and gazed into her eyes. ''You still not believing?''
''I don't know, Devin. I feel there is a loophole here.'' Leena exhaled a deep sight before she voiced her concerns. ''Carlos Ellison is an influential business magnate. Why was he admitted to the suburbs hospital? The hospital was not a famous one, for that matter. My case was different. I was on the verge of life and death, and getting first aid was in dire need.''
Devin expected Leena would ask this question. Even in her happiness, Leena didnot throw the logic out of the window. He appreciated that. ''Let me explain to you clearly then.'' Devin pinched her nose and started. ''Ten years back, Mr. Ellison got a first heart stroke when he was traveling to Seattle. So, in urgency, the driver has to take him to the nearby hospital. Probably, he was comfortable and satisfied with the hospital staff, from then on for any health issues, he would visit the same hospital.'' Devin continued. ''Mr. Ellsion once saw him at a hotel again and followed him to the home since it's a special request from France.'' There was one more thing Devin didnot inform Leena. Even after five years, Carlos couldn't forget the man's memory because he has never seen someone grieving so hard.
''Alright.'' Leena nodded her head. ''Let's meet him tomorrow then.''
''We haven't contacted the man. Let's visit him tomorrow directly.'' Devin added. ''It's your call now.''
''Okay.'' Leena hugged Devin's waist and buried her head into his chest. ''Thank you so much for everything.''
''Sweetheart, what did I tell you? You need to thank me correctly if you meant it.''
''Hungry beast.'' Leena smacked his chest. ''I am tired of serving you every day in the morning.'' Her morning ritual starts with either mouth or hands, if not deep inside her. On infrequent occasions, Devin would set her free.
''You have a heavenly mouth, Leena, and I can't part with it.''
''I am bored of the same repeated story.'' Indifferently, Leena replied. ''I am hungry, Devin.''
''Even I am hungry. Isn't it your week? The kitchen is all yours.''
Untucking his shirt from the pants, Leena slowly slipped her hands into his shirt. ''Can't you make it for today?''
''You give the same excuses every day.'' Devin grasped her arm before this vixen starts her tortures. He doesn't understand when his self-control began to wane. Her touch alone was enough to make his hardness stand erectly. ''How about you eat me for dinner?'' Not before Devin lifted Leena, she pushed him and dashed out of the room.
''You can't escape tonight.'' Devin went into the kitchen and helped Leena in making the dinner. He could have appointed a renowned chef, but they both opted to do it themselves, to find happiness in doing sweet little things.
Right after dinner, Leena climbed on the bed. As usual, she sent a message to Francis. Since the day Leena confronted Francis about his feelings, Leena started bugging him whenever she finds free time. After all, she made a firm decision to unite Francis and her mom.
[To: Dumbledore: Did you think about my offer? I have lots of plans drafted]
Leena received an instant reply.
[Then open one agency]
[To: Dumbledore: Of course, it would be a hit, and I would be grateful if you could become my first client]
[Can you let me sleep peacefully at least today]
[To: Dumbledore: Okay. I will text you tomorrow when I am free. Good night. Heather dreams]
There was no reply from Francis the after.
''He must be on high seeing mom's name.'' Giggling to herself, Leena pulled her blanket with nothing to do. Her babylicious was in a meeting, and it may take time before he hits the bed.
...
The next day morning, Devin took Leena to the address provided by Francis. Once they reached the destination, Devin signaled Nick. There was no security around the house, and Nick doesn't need to use extra force to trespass.
Nick buzzed the intercom, and right when the door was opened, Leena raised her head and nervously gazed at the man standing in front of her.
When Leena saw the man's curious stares, she quickly explained. ''I got to know that you saved my life five years back. I wanted to know if it was you_
''OMG! Leena, it's you? I can't believe you have come to my home finding my address.'' The man was about to hug Leena, but Devin pulled back leena, throwing a deathly stare at him. Does this man doesn't know basic manners? Just because he saved her, he has no right to hug Leena.
With an awkward stance, the man stepped back. ''I am sorry. I got excited to see Leena after a long time. How are_
''May I know your name?'' Devin cut him off. He is getting a serious danger vibe from this man, which he couldn't pinpoint.
''Enger Cassius Lennox, Pleased to meet you.'' Having said that, Enger glanced at Devin. An evil glint passed across his face, which disappeared in a split second.. Finally, he has confronted his sworn enemy after a long time.
