Rebirth: Over the Horizon

"Bal kar," the creature says, making Adam wobble as he tries to keep his balance. "You have broken your oath and left. Now, like a fool. You have brought intruders into the Heart."

"There was a blockage…" the Oracle says feebly from far away. "I called for support to clear the way."

"I think..?, They are both Demonic creatures," Lana says with a realization. "This thing is a demon, and so is the Oracle."

"What is a Demonic creature?"

"I have read about a demon in 'Legend of Unknow', A book which describes the unknown History"

"It is said that, once Demon was the only race which was superior to all others, humans are nothing but slaves for them..."

"But, they were sealed into another dimension by the alliance between Humans, Elves, and spirits. I don't know how these two are here"

"YES, WHAT SHE SAID WAS RIGHT"

"We were sealed in another dimension, but it was nothing brutal, we were happy, even the Demon King generations, let go of the humans and others races, and started to live in that dimension itself"

"But, before 100 years ago, something unusual happened, demons were randomly pulled into this dimension and were turned into slaves"

"But, in recent years it was more and more frequent, demon king tried to find, who was the one doing this, but no avail"

"Fortunately, we come to know, whoever causing this is trying to tear the veil and tries to bring the demonic monsters to this dimension"

"The demon king also has passed the order to prepare for the battle once the veil tears, we rampage through the human kingdoms and turn them into nothing but our slaves"

"I was summoned by a Half-mermaid 70 years ago, I had no choice but to listen to him, I truly didn't like to kill them, but...If I didn't, I would have died"

"ENOUGH OF THIS PAST NONSENSE, LEAVE THE SOUL BURNER, THAT WEAPON IS THE ONLY THING WHICH I CAN USE TO KILL THAT DAMN HUMAN, WHO SPREADS THIS DEMON SUMMONING TECHNIQUE"

"IF YOU DON'T LEAVE THIS WEAPON HERE, I WILL NOT HESITATE TO KILL YOU"

Adam steps forward and says "I know someone related to this whole thing, I want to kill that person, So I truly need the Soul Burner"

"IS THAT SO...?"

"Yes"

"THEN, YOU CAN TAKE THIS"

Adam was dumbfounded, meanwhile the oracle demon panics and says "But, you will die, sister"

"IT'S OKAY IF THIS HUMAN REALLY KILLS THE ONE, MY SACRIFICE IS NOTHING"

Adam nods and leaves the treasure room with SOUL BURNER.

The enormous demon which had wrapped itself around the exterior of the treasure room slowly dissipates and disappears with a smile.

"I BELIEVE You huma..."

A new window pops up before him as Adam reaches the ground surface.

Adam was in deep thought, some of the blurry things become more clear in his head 'Another dimension, huh?'

'So, it wasn't the game that descended upon the earth, it seems that [Horizon] isn't a game in the first place

'Neither China nor America has created this game, the one 'who tears the veil is someone from the earth' and he is using [Horizon] as a medium to tear the boundary and let demons to enter the earth'

Now it all makes sense, how can a game suddenly become reality.

Adam clicked 'reject' without any other thought. Even if he knows that someone is trying to destroy the earth, he can do nothing.

'I can only become stronger and protect the people surrounding me, there are only two months left, I have to quickly select the other two gods and become an apostle'

Adam as he leaves the place, Emily and his crew were already ready to depart, after a small conversation with Jadara.

Adam, Emily, Lana, and his crew leave the place as Jabara and the others bang their spears against their shields in what appears to be their customary way of bidding farewell.

Three days pass and finally, Adam arrives where the ship was initially anchored. The smell of the salt in the air hit's him hard. A short time later, they reach where Epiphany should be anchored.

Adam does not doubt that this is the correct place, but the Epiphany isn't there.

"Thank the gods you've arrived!" a voice says.

Adam sees one of the sailors rise from a hiding place he'd been laying in. From the food stores and dug-out pit, anyone can tell that he's been there for a while "Captain Dura had to take Epiphany back out to sea about a week ago," the sailor says. "We have to wait for nightfall to send the message."

The sailor shares his food with Adam as they all wait for the sun to set. When it does, he lights a fire that he's readied. Once it's burning well, he throws a package onto it, and the flames turn green.

A few hours later, Epiphany was already very close to the shore. It anchors as close as it can. The sailor gathers a few things, then jumps into the water, urging Adam to follow him.

When they reach the Epiphany, ropes are lowered and everyone is hauled up. The sailors are very fast as they do this, having obviously been practising for this difficult manoeuvre to do it so efficiently.

"We have to move fast," Captain Dura says as she joins the deck. "I hope you got what you came for because we have to leave this blasted place right now."

"It's back!" a sailor shouts from the crow's nest. "TingLong!"

Adam looks towards the thing which he pointed out as 'TingLong' and sees the silhouette of something enormous. The green-scaled creature is the size of a mountain, and it's walking through the seawater as though it were only waist deep.

It has sharp claws, each one of which is as tall as the height of a human. It has a double row of teeth that look like short swords. The monster continues to stride purposefully towards the Epiphany.

"Damn. Fill the sails before that beast cuts our wind! Turn about. Quickly now, if you ever want to see your mothers again!"

The Epiphany's sails fill with wind. Captain Dura chants between orders, and the wind picks up. Her weather magic is going to save many lives. The ship lurches and begins to move away from the enormous creature.

The monster swings one large hand, just missing the hull. The shore and the monster begin to recede from view, but the large creature isn't giving up. It dives into the water and begins to swim, following the ship.

"The creature attacked us about a week ago. We had nowhere to hide. Luckily, we'd been anchored near all those trees and had made some repairs first."

"That damn beast caused as much damage as we fixed, though. Those trees were filled with animals and fruit."

"We filled our food stores as much as we could before we had to start running from it."

"Do you think we could outrun it..?"

Adam gazes at the stars for a moment and his eyes shine like a jewel "Even if we can't outrun it" he takes out soul burner and dura's mouth immediately gasps "I will kill it" as he said, Adam walks towards the back end of the Epiphany.
