Chapter 368: Chapter 368 - The Scorchslayer
Chapter 368: - The Scorchslayer
Broken didn't head straight into town; instead, he dashed into the nearby forest, eager to test out the new Legendary-grade sword he had... received as a gift. He quickly pulled the sword from his inventory, anticipation surging through him.
It was a magnificent weapon! Even a faint flame still flickered along the blade. The sword had a long, curved black blade adorned with several shark-fin-like protrusions. The glossy finish of the blade was accentuated with fiery crimson highlights. The crossguard was simple yet elegant, made of dark steel and curved slightly. The hilt was wrapped in black leather with iron bands, and the entire sword radiated a blazing fire aura.
He swung the sword, watching as a trail of fire followed the slash, cutting through the darkness of the night under the moonlight, amidst the trees of the forest.
The sword's design was a perfect match for the helmet, which also featured flaming accents around the demon mask. The combination was both powerful and visually striking.

[A legendary sword forged in the fiery depths of the infernal realms, its origins tied to ancient battles between demons. With a long, curved blade of obsidian-black metal, it radiates intense heat and leaves a trail of embers with every swing. This weapon, both fearsome and powerful, channels devastating fire and physical attacks, making it a true bane of all who dare to face it.]
[Skills:]
[...]
[User Restriction: Hellfire Reaper]
It was truly deserving of the title Legendary-grade sword, with stats equivalent to 40 levels! That was absolutely incredible. Even better, the sword boosted Strength and Agility— essential attributes for a sword user as well as Stamina, which was a stat Broken desperately needed more of.
Finally, he had a sword-a Legendary-grade sword-that he could wield comfortably! Although he reminded himself that he planned to pair this sword with the Mask of Scorched Fury, for now, he intended to keep that identity hidden, perhaps for some future purpose. At the very least, the thought of it excited him.
The sword came equipped with four skills, all of which were surprisingly offensive! It made perfect sense, given that this weapon was clearly designed to focus on offensive capability.
Unlike the helmet, the sword's skills were a combination of physical damage and fire elemental damage, which also served as a reminder that Broken would need to maintain his Intelligence stat in the future to fully utilize the sword's potential.
[Scorching Fury
Effect: Activates when the wielder's health drops below 35%. The sword engulfs the wielder in flames, increasing attack speed by 60% and adding 250% Physical Attack and 250% Fire Element Magic Damage to each strike. Reflects 30% of incoming damage as Fire Damage.
Trigger Condition: Health drops below 35%
Cooldown: 90 seconds
Duration: 20 seconds]
The first skill, Scorching Fury, was surprisingly a conditional passive skill. It didn't require Mana to activate, but it would automatically trigger whenever his Health dropped to 35%. Hmmm... he thought for a moment. This skill would be incredibly useful when facing tough opponents, where he'd need to carefully manage his Health. After all, with his Invincible Paragon Set and the Regeneration skill from Gaia, he could usually keep his Health at a high level.
But in situations where his Health dipped low against a formidable foe, this skill would be a game-changer. It would boost his attack speed by an insane 60%! That was crazy-60% attack speed, plus a massive 250% increase in both physical and fire elemental damage. Wait, it also reflected 30% of incoming damage as fire damage? No way! And even more impressive, this condition lasted for 20 seconds! Damn!n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Just reading the first skill alone showed that this sword was super overpowered! It was the most incredible and broken skill he'd ever encountered, and with such a high attack speed, the damage output from this skill would be absolutely devastating!
Broken was eager to test out the skill, but how could he lower his Health to 35%? He glanced around, realizing that at the edge of the forest, there wouldn't be any monsters nearby. Knowing this, he quickly summoned Petal Charger, intending to hunt for monsters to use as targets for experimenting with his new Legendary-grade skill.
As he set off, he continued to inspect the next skill.
[Wrath of the Infernal King
Effect: Unleashes a combo of six rapid strikes, each dealing 350% Physical Attack and 350% Fire Element Magic Damage. The final strike explodes, dealing 700% Physical Attack and 700% Fire Element Magic Damage to all enemies within 10 meters and stuns them for 2 seconds. If the final strike kills an enemy, the wielder gains a 60% increase in Fire Element Magic Damage for 30 seconds.
Mana Cost: 700
Cooldown: 110 seconds]
Broken took a deep breath after reading the second skill. Damn! He felt like cursing out loud. Every skill from this Legendary-grade sword was absolutely incredible, and this one was no
exception.
The total damage output from this skill was massive! And the stun effect-it lasted for 2 seconds and was area-wide! Damn!
But that's not all. After casting the skill, if he managed to kill any enemies, he'd also get a 60% increase in Fire element damage for 30 seconds!
This skill not only delivered huge damage but also provided crowd control and an impressive
damage buff.
[Blaze Nova
Effect: Releases a burst of fire, creating a nova that deals 600% Physical Attack and 600% Fire Element Magic Damage to all enemies within 10 meters, knocking them back. Leaves a ring of fire for 10 seconds, dealing 200% Physical Attack and 200% Fire Element Magic Damage per
second to enemies inside it.
Mana Cost: 600
Cooldown: 60 seconds]
The third skill, Blaze Nova, was a powerful ability that could knock back any enemies around him and deal significant damage. Afterward, it summoned an area effect that inflicted damage over time at the point where the skill was cast. This seemed to be one of the sword's defensive skills.
If used strategically, Broken could leverage this skill to take a quick break, recharge Mana, or buy time for his cooldowns. Plus, the Mana usage wasn't too heavy, making it a versatile tool
in his arsenal.
[Doomfire Slash
Effect: A single, powerful slash that deals 800% Physical Attack and 800% Fire Element Magic Damage to one target. The strike creates a burning scar on the ground that erupts after 2 seconds, dealing 500% Physical Attack and 500% Fire Element Magic Damage to all enemies within 15 meters. The primary target is marked with Doomfire, reducing healing received by 60% and increasing damage taken by 15% for 10 seconds.
Mana Cost: 800
Cooldown: 75 seconds]
And finally, the fourth skill, Doomfire Slash. This skill was more focused on a single target but
also had the capability to deal area damage. But yeah, considering how amazing all the skills were, Broken wasn't surprised anymore after reading the fourth one.
That's enough. Broken was satisfied with the sword. He decided to hold off on testing it, as his curiosity about the slave chase they had planned for that night took priority.
He quickly headed back and contacted Subaru to check if the next raid was ready to go.
But then he thought, what if he could get a Soul Stone from Infernak and engrave it into the
sword?
