Chapter 1013 Important pointers for exams
[Rein's POV: ]
"I'll only tell you this once. And don't spread it like you all spread most of the news, this isn't for everyone."
There are only three days left for the start of the finals. We have already received the schedules, and the preparations for the exams have almost finished as well.
There isn't much left to do since we've finished reading all there was to read and we've finished with practice training as well.
In all kinds of subjects, be it spirit summoning, cooking, or magic-weapon practices, we have done a trial practice as well and all of us made sure the others who had seeked our help had understood at least all the basics that they needed for these exams.
The rest was up to them, but still, I called my girl friends for tea to give them some important pointers for their upcoming exams.
"Is this really going to be so important that you're being that secretive about it?" Tia was busy studying but I dragged her here by baiting her with a 'special information' tactic.
She knew she got scammed by the time she was here, but since everyone including Quin, Liz, Mia, Ezra, Bell, Luna, Zoe, Carla, even Rexie and Eula were here, she simply stayed behind since she knew whatever I was about to tell them, though not as confidential as she wanted it to be, it would certainly be worth her Precious time.
"So…"
Elio was going to tell some things to the boys as well, but we've decided that the things that we will tell them will be relatively the same.
If they want to understand the difference between the things that we have told them individually, they would have to tell one another about Everything that we've told them.
'It would be a breach of trust since they know this is important information, but if they do share everything with one another… well, we wanna see if that happens anyway.'
This is also a kind of test for them. And I'm pretty excited to see what they do.
However, all that aside…
"I believe all of you are aware of how the term papers are made?"
I'm pretty sure not all of them know about it…
"Huh?"
"You know how they make it?"
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"You're telling me there's a certain way they make the term papers?"
"…"
Since Tia was always searching for things related to the papers as much as she was studying for the exams, I thought at least she would know about it.
The information wasn't confidential or anything, if one found it hard enough, they would find it someway or the other.
At least Luna or Quin should have known about it, at least Ezra. Prince Alph knew about it and so did some of the boys as far as we know so, some of them should have known about it… but no.
"You're telling me none of you know how they make the papers?"
Not a single one of these ladies knew about it.
"No?"
"Are we supposed to know about it? Is it important how they make it?"
"I've heard all the people get different papers. Does it matter how they make it if all of them are going to be different?"
And, that simply made my work more difficult.
"Haaaa…" I couldn't help but sigh at their careless attitude. It was a good idea that Eon decided to tell them about this.
"Listen up you dummies."
My work has increased. Which was not a good thing, obviously, but it's good that I asked them that question.
"The academy creates a panel of experts that create the papers for each individual depending on their past performance, actions, answers in the classes, their behaviour related to the topics of the tests, and a few other things related to it."
The process of paper creation was simple for those who weren't part of the student council, but this new information shocked these ladies.
"Wait what? They sit and make papers for each one With the past behaviour as reference?"
"They make our test papers based on the answers we give in the class?! I've never given an answer though! Is that a bad thing?!"
Rexie was worried all of a sudden since, well, among all of us, she had attended the least classes.
She had barely fulfilled her required attendance and most of the classes she had attended aside from the homeroom and common classes were random classes that she stumbled upon.
'She chose simple classes this year to just get a good experience of the academy so she was playing around most of the time, finding new things about the academy like Tia, but unlike the little fairy, this mermaid friend of ours didn't learn as much from her own chosen classes.'
It was not anything unique, many students had done that, just that the way she had done it was more productive than the others who simply played around.
"Not only your behaviour in the classes and the answers that you give, nearly everyone that you have done in the academy is taken into account if it is of relevance.
Even your findings in the academy castle, Rexie."
The process of paper creation was very simple.
They checked all the data that was given to them through the academy's database, as well as from sir Quesnel, filter that raw data and categorise it, and then create questions that would either help an individual with something that they were looking for, or help them get better at a certain aspect.
"They test the progress. Search for improvements, and learning. And lastly, they aim to evaluate your Mental as well as Physical progress."
Be it cognitive, behavioural, psychological, physiological, or spiritual progress, the papers and the questions that are asked in that paper aim to evaluate all these things which cannot be measured in a simple manner.
'Some of these things are abstract but since they are experts with decades of experience, they know how to make questions that can quantify the progress and qualitatively measure it.'
It's not simple, but they do it. And, the way they do it, for most parts, is almost always the same.
"Now…"
I explained how they do it in a little more detail and they were mostly shocked to find out about these new things.
"This is important so listen carefully."
The most important thing that they needed to keep in mind was simply how the papers and the questions in these papers were created to test how much they have grown.
"You have three days so, think deeply and hard about everything that you can regarding the things that you want to improve in.
If not that, think about how you want to get better at a certain thing or a question that you have had since you came to the academy.
In addition to that, think about how many things you have learned until now, be it the simplest or spell or the hardest or theory.
Try to find out what aspect of your current self you want to improve upon. You can try and list these things down, but while you're doing it, remember to disregard the fact that you're learning for the exams itself."
One of the things that will limit their thinking would be the fact that this is an exams which, as most other students were considering, would be based on the things that we have learned in the classes.
"The questions might seem like they are related to the questions that you have learned in the classes, but they won't really be about those things.
There will be some questions that will ask you to do some things, some questions that will create practical opponents if you figure out what that question is about, and though the test will be written on a piece of paper, the way you will give the exam will be completely different from a simple pen paper test."
We could have told them about this a while ago but that would simply make the whole testing process meaningless.
Instead of helping them, it would make them more and more anxious about it, and then they would skip out on the things that they were supposed to learn to get at least passing scores.
But getting a passing score wasn't what I wanted for my friends.
'The reason I'm telling these things to just them, the reason Eon is telling these things to the boys is simply because we want our friends to do better.'
It's a selfish thing, but after helping the others that needed our help all this time, we don't really see why we should also tell them about something so obvious.
'A test, at its core, was simply an evaluation of one's self and one's learning. It was common sense.'
And we have stressed how to think about this term exam as not a test but a trial many times.
"Do you get it now? You just have to think back about everything you've done and learned and been through." It wasn't going to be simple, but if it's these ladies, they can do it.
'One can call us selfish for telling this special information to just one's close to us, but that's what I wanted, and that's what he agreed to do as well.'

If they get better scores, which they will, I'm sure of that much, they will be able to pose more challenges to the people who were working to push them down.
'It's ultimately going to be good for the rest of us.'n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
The useless and two-faced crowd around us has been increasing lately. Eon didn't like that, and he didn't want more of that when we finished this test and came back from the big break.
He was preparing for the next year, and, since it was helping these pretty ladies, I didn't mind it either.
'Seeing them happy will make me happier anyway.'
What do you think?
