Chapter 700: 699 Ah Mu has always liked Ranran.

Mo Xiuchen had already detected the fleeting sorrow in Gu Kai’s eyes. In an instant, pain swept through his heart. As he spoke, his other hand reached for Gu Kai’s pocket.

“I didn’t bring my cellphone.”

Gu Kai held his hand, his voice maintaining calm, ignoring the throbbing pain in his arm which he held tightly, he met Mo Xiuchen’s intense gaze head-on.

Mo Xiuchen clenched his lips tightly, shrugged Gu Kai’s hand off, and began to stride out.

Gu Kai’s face turned pale, he hurriedly intercepted him at the door of the ward: “Xiuchen, where are you going?”

“Back to my country.”

Mo Xiuchen’s voice was icy cold, his eyes sharp and angry as they glared at Gu Kai. He pushed Gu Kai aside and rushed out of the ward.

“Xiuchen, you can’t go back.”

Out in the hallway, Gu Kai caught up with Mo Xiuchen. His previously calm eyes were now misty with tears, and a mask of sadness had descended over his handsome and warm features. “Xiuchen, come back to the ward. I will tell you everything.”

He knew he couldn’t keep the secret from Mo Xiuchen.

If it hadn’t been for his selfishness, Mo Xiuchen should have been lying in the operation room by now. Thinking about the words his father had relayed over the phone caused an intense stabbing pain in his heart.

Ranran’s wish was for us to get your surgery done earlier and erase her from your heart. That way, you wouldn’t feel sad because of her.”

“But… I didn’t immediately send you to the operation room. I thought, even if we erase her memories in the end, you should at least hear her last wish.”

Mo Xiuchen did not interrupt him, but silently listened to Gu Kai continue, “Two days ago in the afternoon, Ranran was taken by Fu Jingyi’s men…”

He figured out that Qin Mu was an upright man who wouldn’t harm his family. Their threats meant nothing to him, and instead steeled his resolve to send them all to their deaths.

The place they met wasn’t the private room of the club at night but a mountain, as Qin Mu and his allies had guessed, Liao Dongxing had changed the location at the last minute.
