Chapter 175 - 175 Rakshasa
175 Rakshasa
The burning sea of fire naturally affected carl, judging from the ease with which this move had been performed it was clear to see that Layton wasn’t the same as before and had completed some sort of essential breakthrough becoming an existence similar to himself possessing immortal level strength and means without the realm and level of life leap. Thinking of this an excited smile crept up on Carl’s indifferent face, he withdrew the swamp of qi that was clashing with the flames and drew back the qi towards himself.
The energy quickly congealed materializing a skeleton so huge that Layton only reached its toe, its palm smashing downward toward his opponent and as it moved more qi was born as quickly numerous sinews muscles and flesh covered the skeleton giving it a real texture.
Layton looked at the descending palm as it quickly fell towards him, the space of the surroundings was being twisted as a resort of the force he knew carl was no longer holding back, the previous constructs he had used were merely child’s play holding no real basis and were haphazardly formed, this, on the other hand, possessed a sophisticated nature allowing the full strength to be displayed, its speed, strength and defence naturally couldn’t be compared to the previous ones, but Layton also wasn’t the same as before, he didn’t bother dodging and just gently sent his fist upwards.
Most individuals would find a way to dodge this attack or mitigate the blow instead of confronting it head on like Layton was doing, this was because although it seemed simple it was terrifying apart from the impact of the huge size strength and skill the influence of the qi on the surrounding laws also mattered but Layton’s present state wasn’t one that needed to depend on the use of laws of the plane, soon enough the two disproportionate appendages met the space seemed to shriek letting out huge whines as the palm of ‘qi’ was smashed by Layton’s fist. Although Layton’s attack seemed haphazard and without any technical content the fact was the movement was not simple, his new form had already freed him from the shackles of his body his strength was no longer from his muscles and cells but from the atoms that made up his physical form, the slight kinetic energy generated by the ever present movements of atoms scattered throughout his body was guided through delicate spatial means and transported through his fist, much like way tiny drops of water can make an ocean the kinetic energy of all his atoms when gathered and focused created an overbearing force that destroyed the mighty palm of qi that had descended to crush his body.
Carl’s other arm was not idle as he disregarded the scene of one of his arms being destroyed instead using his other arm wielded a blade construct and slashed towards Layton’s aiming to cut his body in half vertically, the sheer size and speed of the blade brought immense power as the space continued to wail in distress sharp winds caused by its pressure already moving ahead of the blade causing wanton destruction, although the strike was fast and seemingly unexpected it wasn’t fast enough for Layton to be caught unawares his perception had always been at the forefront and with his change in state so did his perception his mind could observe and view the atoms in the space around him and the slight change caused by any objects slight vibration or movement could be felt. It was like an object entering a pond and creating ripples, with a thought Layton ensured his body followed the ripples making it easier for him to dodge the massive blade that had now missed him and ploughed the ground. Carl didn’t stop there and continued to give birth to other three arms each with their own blade slashing towards Layton, he was presently like a furious four-armed Rakshasa bent on destruction. Layton saw carl’s movement but couldn’t really stop it Layton had more means but carl was taking a pure powerful route suppressing and destroying everything with huge amounts of qi and power Layton on the hand could be said to be following the skilled route with a lot of means at his disposal but these means were a little hard to be effective against carl, his whole body had melded into the huge form there was no core so to speak as he had become the construct itself making it very difficult for Layton to quickly create a means to incapacitate his opponent in such short notice.
Their battle had already attracted attention as the destructive nature of their moves shot up exponentially numerous members of the camp nearby teleported into the void of space as they watched the battle occurring on the island-shaped meteorite floating in the vastness of space, the special materials that were used in creating the arena finally couldn’t hold back in the face of carl’s movements and soon started to disintegrate, the simulated atmosphere and gravity losing its vigour as the arena began to collapse. Witnessing this scene, the onlookers immediately got up and left the area, with the arena gone they could easily be caught up in the aftermath of the battle, the few who were confident and unwilling to leave were dispersed by the immortals who had been paying attention to the duel.
Following the destruction of the venue carl immediately manipulated his rakshasa form to give birth to more arms grabbing the fragments of land around spontaneously eroding the matter and turning it into more qi, with the introduction of more qi Carl’s huge form started to twist about to turn into another creature and Layton taking advantage of the change of venue started to gather radiation from nearby stars and planets. Before their respective means could be completed a huge crack appeared in their midst furiously devouring the nearby energy, heat and radiation making them stop their movements. “How about we call it a tie.” Rip who had appeared next to them said in a leisurely but unquestionable tone.
