Chapter 133
133 Knight
The sky immediately grew cloudy and numerous streaks of lightning descended from the clouds into the fog-covered area. In the split second the attack descended a huge boom sound occurred and a fierce condensed momentum arose from the fog as a sharp bright sword slash emerged splitting open the dark clouds and the numerous attacks that descended from it.
“I never expected the federation would use the boom channel for this event.” The cloaked figure muttered as it stared at the slowly dispersing fog.
The boom channel was one of the federations trump cards, it could basically violently create a space channel to anywhere in the world even if the space was reinforced, or it was a god’s kingdom, it only required the coordinates of the space to be made available, the only drawbacks to the technology was that it could only safely transport individuals of the legendary rank and that it consumed an Alaya fragment with every use, of course, that was the official tone of the federation to the world but more powerful and astute members of society could vaguely guess the limitation was something more than an Alaya fragment, although the fragments were rare it wasn’t something the federation couldn’t get if it decided to.
The fog soon cleared to reveal a brown-haired man dressed in simple medieval knight armour in his hands was a simple western broad sword, just standing there he gave off a feeling of stability, the injured soldiers at this back quickly dragged their fallen captain and began to retreat from the scene, the previous attack had confirmed their guess that the cloaked figure was a legend and thus they would be of no use only serving as a distraction.
“I never expected the famous young master of the Wallace family to make an appearance ”
The cloaked figure said in surprise and excitement as she let down her hood to reveal the dirty red hair that lay underneath, with her beaming red eyes she stared at the knight opposite her with intense blood lust and fighting intent radiating from her. She had been bossed around by that fool in the building and she urgently needed a hearty fight to vent her suppressed emotions, From the inner pockets of her robe, she removed a small cylinder like object and rested it on her palms as she stared excitedly at her adversary.
The Wallace family was an ancient knight family that was one of the founding families of the federation, its head was rumoured to be one of the few legends infinitely close to deification and various geniuses had emerged from the family since its birth, and they had singlehandedly led the evolution of the knight profession from its ancient look to its modern-day form, the family was said to be the holy land of knights housing thousands of different combat and exercises relating to the knight profession. it was even rumoured that the establishment of the psionic knights was inseparable from this ancient family. The psionic knights mostly made use of an offshoot of ancient knight values such as guardianship, loyalty, discipline and so on to meditate and attune themselves to the star in the sky that unlocks their own psionic.
No matter the offshoots that emerged from various experiments with the knight profession it mostly amounted to nothing as the changes could hardly be replicated in another person apart from the founder, the advantages of the changes were mostly absorbed and digested by the knight profession giving it a huge breath and a wealth of various combat and cultivation techniques, but the psionic knights was different unlike other branches of the knight profession it did not follow the normal way of cultivation by polishing the body at the apprentice stage instead it started with meditation visualizing the psionic star in the sky, to break through it did not make use of any knight breathing to mobilize and transform vitality instead it used the connection with the psionic star to stimulate one’s mind and give birth to ones psionic, it was because of this characteristic that the rumour that psionic knights were an offshoot of the basic knight profession had not been confirmed.
“Gwain Wallace, legendary knight.”
.....
The silent figure spoke reporting himself with his husky and magnetic voice once he noticed the soldiers had retreated to a safe distance.
‘hehe,’ his opponent looked at his actions with amusement not reply the curtsey only giggling as she activated the object in her palm as a stable beam of red light emerged from the mouth of the object forming what could be seen as a lightsaber, taking a light step her short red hair fluttered in the wind as she seemed to disappear ignoring the distance between them and suddenly appeared right in front of the knight and swung down her weapon.
Gwain did not seem surprised at her actions, he simply swung the blade in his hands to meet the saber head-on, a twinkle of surprise and shone in the redhead’s dark gaze as the simple unadorned blade collided head on with her lightsaber, Gwain did not give her time to dwell on the event as he leaned in using his shoulder to bump into her. She did not resist this attack but instead used the force from the attack to quickly retreat as she flew backwards.
Cora looked at her opponent with surprise killing intent and excitement swimming in her gaze.
She had heard of the rumoured master Gwain before this, he was the only son of the current patriarch of the Wallace family and said to be undefeated amongst his peers, his genius name was only well pronounced because of his speed of advancement because according to the rumours he only practised the basic and rudimentary ancient form of knight cultivation and he never learnt or performed any combat techniques only relying solely on basic swordsmanship and yet he had become a legend in breathtaking speeds.
She was not astonished at her failed attack as it was only a temptation but she was astonished at the fact that it had been easily resolved, normally only enchanted blades, other lightsabers or energy attacks could collide head on with the lightsaber and not be damaged but Gwain’s sword seemed to be the exception. she had previously perceived the armour and sword in the hands of Gwain and she was sure they were made of the simplest materials and ordinarily should not be able to stand the blow of her lightsaber which was made up of pure volatile psionic akin to plasma.
