What Do You Mean There Are Other Transmigrators In My Harem Fantasy?

Chapter 878: Dealing With Undead Could Be Monotonous

Instead of going back to the tent to wait for them, I decided to just watch the fight from a distance instead.

I mean, this was an opportunity for me to see how professionals would deal with a horde of monsters so that I can learn some military tactics.

Right now, it seems like they are holding their ground in a phalanx formation and cutting down the undead that were just chagrin mindlessly towards their ranks.

I thought that they would just stay there and keep poking the undead with their spears but then I realised that they were very slowly inching their way forward towards the entrance of the Dungeon.

And it looks like when the spearmen at the front start getting tired of thrusting their spear, the one behind will quickly step up to take their place.

The same goes for if they get hit by one of the undead, they would also quickly fall back and let their healers at the back heal them.

For now, there doesn't seem to be much of a threat to them and it looked like it was more of a battle of endurance as the undead horde doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon.

If I could guess what their plan was, they're probably trying to push the frontlines all the way back to the Dungeon entrance so that they wouldn't be as spread out as they are right now.

Interestingly, as the front line stepped over the corpses of the undead, the ones that were behind would move the corpses aside, piling them up somewhere else instead of just leaving them where they were.

Initially, I thought they were gathering the corpses of the monsters so that they could extract their Mana Crystals later, but then I realised that they were doing that so that they will always have flat ground to retreat to should they need it.

In fact, they seem to be piled up in a way that allows them to topple the corpses to create an impromptu wall should they need it.

That's pretty neat.

Not gonna lie though, this looks extremely monotonous and if it was me down there, I would be completely bored out of my mind.

Like all that they're doing is just thrust, step, thrust, step, thrust, step repeated over and over again.

Well… I guess I was expecting too much variation from an undead horde who only have a simple mind of just charging forward I suppose.

Right as that thought crossed my mind, a rumbling came from the Dungeon entrance and, by some weird magic, a giant fleshy golem materialised right in front of it.

It looked like a giant Mahun except its upper body was extremely large with a disproportionately small head. Its left leg was also a mass of flesh while its right leg was three times thinner.

The entire monster itself was at least five stories high, easily dwarfing the soldiers in front of it.

Huh… So that's what happens when the monster is bigger than the Dungeon entrance…

It looked like the monster would start smashing the soldiers in front of it but a hail of arrows were fired from behind the spear wall, peppering the monster and the smaller undead around it with the deadly projectiles.

The monster stumbled back from the impact of several dozen arrows embedding themselves on its body, right before a ball of fire was shot out from the rank of mages and exploded on its chest, setting it aflame.

It gave out a mournful wail before it collapsed on its back, crushing the undead that had been behind it.

Incidentally, it also fell right on top of the Dungeon entrance, burying the doorway under its body.

I thought that would stop monsters from coming out but the space around where the Dungeon entrance was distorted like a glitch on a computer screen, which completely disintegrated the part of the flesh golem that had occupied that space.

Huh… So I guess the idea of just burying the entrance to stop monsters from appearing is out…

Now even more monsters were pouring out from the Dungeon entrance, the mass looking like some kind of tidal wave as they continued their mindless charge towards the spear wall.

A few variations showed up and skeletons that were equipped with weapons started appearing.

While they weren't as numerous, there were a few of the skeletons that were equipped with bows and they tried to shoot arrows at the approaching Mahuns.

Instead of hiding behind their shields, the spearmen continued to advance while thrusting their spears, almost as if they did not realise there were arrows heading directly for them.

Right before the arrows could hit them however, the mages conjured up a strong gust of wind that blew the arrows away, protecting the spearmen from getting hit.

The arrows ended up flying back to the skeletons though they didn't really do much damage aside from bouncing off their skulls or flying straight through their ribs, leaving them unharmed.

The zombies and other undead beside them, however, were not as lucky.

Despite the change in circumstances, it seems like they had already accounted for it and no one was panicking at all. Everyone was simply fulfilling their own roles perfectly.

As the small army neared the entrance of the Dungeon, their pace quickened and the tide of monsters seemed to have finally stopped pouring out from the Dungeon.

Right as I thought it was over, three of those large flesh golems appeared in front of the entrance, all of them acting as if they were the guardians of it.

The archers immediately fired a rain of arrows at the new monsters, forcing them to back away from the spear wall.

The mages then launched another fireball that stuck the golem on the right, setting the monster aflame just like how the first one did.

Unfortunately, the flesh golems in the centre and the left recovered faster than the mages could deal with them and they stepped forward in an attempt to strike at the shield wall.

With hands several times the size of a normal Mahun, I'm pretty sure that if that attack were to hit, several people were going to get flattened by that one attack.

King Justinia seemed to have realised that as well as she leapt towards the giant monster instead of letting her soldiers suffer a blow like that.

Justinia leapt towards the one in the middle, her sword wrapped up in blinding light.

She brought the sword down in an overhead slash, the light from her sword seemingly leaping from her sword to engulf the monster in the light.

The monster let out a shriek as the light caused it to be ignited in white flames, its limbs already disintegrating in what I guess must be some holy magic that was particularly effective against undeads.

I wonder if that was also a Valour Skill?

But while that particular flesh golem was burning, the other flesh golem was still unhindered in its attack.

Unfortunately, it looked like Justinia wouldn't be able to stop the last flesh golem as it swung its arm down at the ranks of spearmen below it.

That was when a blur of shadows flew towards the hand and struck against the monster's palm, the force completely blowing the arm off the monster at the shoulder.

The monster let out a groan and looked down at the stump on its shoulder, as though it didn't understand where its arm had been.

The blur of shadow then came flying back and tore off the other arm as well, flying up above the monster to reveal itself as Mother.

She raised the arm she just tore off and threw it towards the flesh golem, the limb piercing through its shoulder and flying out through its back.

The arm was embedded like a stake in the ground, the arm ending up tilted at an angle towards the monster's back.

Mother then tucked her wings and dove towards the monster in another shadowy blur, passing by its head and grabbing on to it to pull the giant monster down.

The monster ended up getting impaled on its own arm as the limb pierced through its back to reappear through its chest.

Mother then flew up again before shooting a gout of black flames at the monster, setting it alight to burn into cinders.

As though that wasn't enough, she raised her hand and dark bolts of electricity gathered above her palm to form into a ball that was pulsing with electricity which she went ahead to throw at the still burning monster.

The moment the ball hit the monster, there was a clap of thunder and the entire giant monster got wiped out from existence, leaving not even ashes behind.

Then, as if to just add insult to injury, Mary appeared through a portal beside her and handed over a cup of tea which she just started sipping while she was still up in the air.

Damn… Mother is so cool.
