What Do You Mean There Are Other Transmigrators In My Harem Fantasy?

Chapter 702: Have You Traumatised Anyone Last Year?

As a second year student now, I realised I had less responsibilities as compared to my first year.

Like before, us Special Class students were free to choose our classes but even if we chose no classes and just did self study sessions, everyone was ok with it as well.

I guess this was basically the school telling us that they trust us to make our own decisions for our studies now? m|vle mp _yr novel source

I question the effectiveness of this since my fellow classmates were not even sixteen yet so I'm pretty sure most of them would choose to slack off if given the choice.

The only one who I could safely say would devote their time to studying was Odeta who seems to be much more driven than before.

But well, I'm not their mother so I don't really care if they slacked off or not.

As for me… I'm still doing my due diligence in taking my classes but I've realised that I could do much more if I were to do self study sessions instead.

Not because the teachers are bad but… I would say that I've come to realise that the curriculum here is very conservative.

By that, I meant that they are too 'careful' in how the students are taught.

I can understand it since all the students here are still children, so most of the lessons are theoretical instead of practical.

That was my problem as I learned better through practical applications instead.

The only exception were the combat classes which had the types of lessons flipped around so I still participate in those. But for magic in particular, I've resorted to doing self study in the library when I wasn't practising my magic on my own or going Dungeon diving.

The exception also extended to Lisa's alchemy classes and her Lumenmancy class since I was the only student for the latter and the theoretical parts were still useful to me for the former. Another exception was the Iatromancy classes since the teacher does focus on practical teaching by… Well… Using herself as the teaching material or having us attend combat classes as part of our lesson.

Speaking of which… I'm attending my first class of the year right now, which just so happens to be Iatromancy class.

It seems like all my classmates from last year are still here which pleased teacher Anna greatly, as evident by the big grin plastered on her face.

"Welcome back to your second year of Iatromancy everyone! I'm so happy that all of you have decided to continue your studies in this school of magic instead of running away like the others!"

With how you have been teaching us… I'm honestly not surprised to learn that other students ran away from this class…

Truth be told, I'm pretty sure my fellow classmates here were also kind of influenced by this woman's craziness which was why they were staying. Otherwise… I don't doubt a number of them would have already left.

Teacher Anna then clapped her hands together, "Alright! Since this is the first class of the year, let's take it a little easy today, shall we? How about we all share about a memorable time you used Iatromancy during the holidays? I'll start!"

All of us watched our Iatromancy teacher straighten herself and clear her throat dramatically before beginning her story like she was some kind of bard.

"Now… I had joined a Dungeoneer party as their healer diving into a C ranked Dungeon. There were six of us and the Dungeon itself had a lot of undead monsters, which meant that a healer was extremely important since there were a lot of monsters capable of debuffing the party with various curses.

Everyone was nice but there was one little fellow who didn't think Iatromancy was a legitimate school of magic!"

All of my classmates started booing.

Geez everyone… Calm down…

Teacher Anna giggled at their reactions before continuing, "I know, I know, he was complete scum and his opinions were completely wrong! But as a magnanimous healer, I decided to overlook his transgression. Guess who was the first one to get hit by a curse?"

All of my classmates started shouting out the guy who insulted Iatromancy, though they were using various names to refer to him like dumbass, idiot and 'inferior bastard who doesn't know the value of a healer'.

Our teacher giggled again, "Quite right~ Of course I went ahead to heal him, but I did not heal him right away~ I took my time to explore the various stages of the curse while healing him and I learned something very interesting…"

Even I perked up when she said that as I was curious what she learned about that, seeing that I might be diving in higher ranked Dungeons in the future and this might be something I would experience in the future.

After all, as crazy as teacher Anna was, she's still a competent healer.

"People scream differently at different stages of being cursed~"

Please return the expectations I had.

My fellow classmates however, seemed quite thrilled by her story and gave a chorus of wows and woahs.

Teacher Anna then gave us an expectant look, "Alright! Who wants to go next?"

Reinie raised her hand quickly, "Oh me, me!"

Teacher Anna nodded at her to go ahead and she stood up excitedly.

"I let my brother roll down a hill and healed him with my magic! I learned that you should set a broken arm properly first before healing it or the bone might restore itself incorrectly and you might even need to break the arm again!"

Oh yeah… She's the one who uses her brother as a test subject for her healing magic. I almost forgot about that…

Teacher Anna clasped her hands together, "That's wonderful, Reinie! For you to be able to heal a broken bone, that means you are a full fledged healer now! Congratulations!"

Everyone clapped for her and even I also celebrated her success despite the fact that she made her brother suffer for it. It's the little things, ok? And honestly… Her family problems ain't my problems.

But I will still admit that the fact she was raising her proficiency so quickly was quite impressive.

Teacher Anna then continued, "Now that's a good lesson here! Remember, if your patient has a broken bone, it's important that you set the bone correctly first before you start healing them! Otherwise, the magic might cause more damage than good!"

I frowned slightly at that.

I believe I have healed broken bones before but I don't remember actually setting them properly first before I do so.

Heck, there were a couple of times where Odeta had broken bones and I just went ahead to heal her with the spell directly and nothing bad happened.

I raised my hand, "Teacher Anna?"

"Oh! Does Aster have something to share too?"

I shook my head, "No… I just want to ask if it's possible for someone to restore the bone properly without setting it first? Like in the case of a party member facing a monster with a broken arm, do we have to tell them to set their arm properly first before healing them?"

"I'm glad you asked, Aster! I assume you have faced such a situation before and healed them?"

I nodded.

"And the bones set themselves correctly?"

"As far as I could tell, yes. They did not mention anything about it afterwards and it clearly worked…"

Teacher Anna gasped, "Fascinating! I knew you were a prodigy from the start, Aster! Did you know that only veteran healers are able to do that? Have you cut open someone's body before?"

What the heck? How did the conversation go in that direction?

"No, I have not cut open a body before…"

"Definitely fascinating! To be able to restore the bone without setting it properly, you would need to understand how the body is supposed to look before casting that spell! That means you already knew how the bone is supposed to look without even cutting open a body to inspect it first! That is amazing!"

Ok, that makes sense. I know how the skeleton looks like from my past life so that's why I could heal that way I suppose. That's good news for me.

Teacher Anna then looked at me excitedly, "So do you have any stories to share, Aster?"

Hmm… Well… Now that puts me in a spot… The two of them already shared something and I pretty much admitted to using Iatromancy to heal someone during a fight too… Plus everyone else was also looking at me with expressions of anticipation as well so I'd feel a little bad if I just told them I had nothing to share.

Fine, fine… I guess I can just tell them about my Dungeon diving experience during the training camp with Katsuki and the others. Maybe I can also tell them about rescuing Emilia from the burning ship too.

Of course, I won't give them the names of the people and just say that they were people I knew.

I sucked in a breath.

And then I started to tell them all about it.
