Chapter 63 - PUFFY NOSE
"Lucas!" called Ellena when she didn't get any response from Lucas.
Again Lucas flinched at Ellena's voice. Instantly his daydream broke at that moment.
"You didn't answer my question?" asked Ellena who had been waiting for an answer from Lucas. "Where did you go?" Ellena repeated her question intending to clarify.
"When?" Lucas wore an innocent expression as if he didn't understand Ellena's question.
Ellena gave a harsh snort, before she finally responded. "I didn't see you when I came out of the ICU," Ellena answered flatly, then put a spoonful of food into her mouth.
"Oh, th-that...." Lucas was thinking about something again so he paused for a moment to say something. "I'm going to the toilet," he replied then as he looked away from Ellena's face, then resumed eating the food in front of him.
This suddenly made Ellena raise an eyebrow. She was surprised to find that Lucas didn't look at her when she spoke. Really suspicious. The man seemed to be hiding something from her. Not to mention, Lucas' words, which sounded a little nervous, certainly made her even more curious. 'What's the matter with Lucas?' she thought.
"Are you sure you just went to the toilet?" Ellena asked reassuringly as she slightly stirred the spaghetti on her plate. Ellena's pair of eyes looked up and down looking at Lucas and her food in turn.
Lucas stopped his eating for a moment, then looked straight at Ellena's face. He seemed to be trying to shake off his nervous feelings in front of Ellena. I don't know what made him so nervous.
"You don't believe me?" Lucas seemed to fold his arms on the table, then gave him a serious look as if he was trying to convince the woman in front of him.
However, seeing Lucas' attempt to act like that made Ellena even more surprised. Hadn't Lucas been telling the truth earlier, he wouldn't have had to go to such lengths just to make her feel confident and trusting?
Like Lucas, Ellena did the same. She folded her arms on the table, then leaned forward slightly.
"Don't you trust me too that you have to hide something from me?" She asked probingly.
Lucas furrowed his brows. He was surprised by Ellena's attitude as if she could read his mind, even though he was sure that she didn't know what he was doing a few hours ago.
Lucas took a deep breath, then smiled. "What are you saying, Elle? I really don't understand where you're talking about." He said later.
"Okay, I don't think I'm important to you, so it's only natural that you don't want to tell me anything." Ellena sneered as she grabbed the spoon that was on the plate again. However, Lucas didn't seem to care at all about Ellena's sarcasm at the time.
Ellena intends to resume her dinner activities. However, before she could put the spaghetti in her mouth, Lucas' voice suddenly made her stop.
"Aren't you hungry?" Lucas' question managed to make Ellena look up.
Ellena was stunned for a moment. She didn't understand what Lucas was talking about. I don't know if the man was deliberately sarcasm or had other intentions.
"Not hungry, but you only have a few left," Lucas said, glancing at Ellena's plate.
Without giving an answer first, Ellena glanced at her dinner plate for a moment, then looked back at Lucas.
"Are you making fun of me on purpose?" Ellena seemed to roll her eyes perfectly. It seemed that she was very annoyed with Lucas's deliberately sarcastic attitude.
Getting a piercing stare from his wife, Lucas just smiled. He always liked Ellena's adorable face when she was angry, that was the reason why he often acted annoyingly in front of Ellena.
"Okay I stop eating!" Ellena put the spoon down slightly slamming it on the plate, making a clanking sound as the two objects collided.
Ellena folded her arms back on the table with an annoyed expression. The lips are slightly pursed forward. She then turned her face in any direction.
Lucas took a deep breath. She couldn't believe that Ellena would be that angry because his words were only meant to divert the conversation.
Yes, right. Lucas didn't want Ellena to constantly question what he was doing while she was in the ICU. Only he and Alex knew about it. He just didn't want Ellena to be curious, which was why he had diverted the conversation. However, it turned out to be the wrong way. Once again Ellena was angry because of his attitude.
Don't call Lucas, if he can't handle such a trivial matter. Isn't he a smart guy and always has ways to solve his problems?
Lucas stared intently at Ellena's face who was staring to the left, then he let out a small smile on his face. "Turns out you're pretty too when you're angry like that." He hissed, which suddenly made Ellena laugh a little for a moment. However, it still didn't turn its gaze towards him.
"Looks like you'd be better off being angry like this, I like to see it. You look more beautiful and adorable." Lucas said as if deliberately trying to tease Ellena.
Lucas' words this time managed to make Ellena's face flush with embarrassment. The woman's nose seemed to be inflated and deflated so that it managed to make Lucas smile.
"What if your nose blows up like that. Uh, you look even more charming, Elle. I just found out, it turns out that a beautiful woman like you can also—"
"Stop!" Ellena immediately stopped Lucas' words, before the man made her even more embarrassed by the annoying compliment.
Yes, of course. Of course she knew that Lucas wasn't serious about what he said. The man just wanted to tease her. No! It wasn't teasing, but Lucas wanted to quip her on purpose.
"Akh, why did you change your position? It's okay, just like before. I like to see your pouty lips, your puffy nose and your flushed face because—"
"Stop, Lucas! Can't you hear me? Stop, stop, stop!" Ellena growled, who couldn't stand Lucas's attitude which was getting more and more annoying by the day. How could Lucas tease her in a situation like this.
"But I like it, Elle."
"I don't care! You're so annoying, Lucas!" Ellena's sarcasm grew even more furious.
"Okay, I'm quiet." Lucas was calm after knowing his wife's lion side.
"You're mean, Lucas. I won't forgive you!" snapped Ellena while pouting her lips.
"Okay," Lucas answered simply.
"You?" Ellena gave him another look of disapproval.
"Okay, I'm sorry," Lucas replied who already understood the meaning of Ellena's gaze. However, Ellena just kept quiet, which made Lucas feel a little guilty for making his wife angry.
"I'm just kidding, I'm sorry. Are you willing to forgive me?" Luxas asked seriously.
Seeing Lucas who looked serious, Ellena finally responded. "Never do it again!" She insisted.

The morning sun had greeted, and the light seemed to be starting to seep in through the ventilation openings of Ellena's room. The woman seemed to frown with her eyes still closed. Her whole body felt so stiff to move, her eyes seemed reluctant to open. Ellena pulled the blanket back and covered her whole body, she wanted to sleep a little longer.
'So comfortable.' She thought.
At 07.00 am, Ellena seemed to start squirming, her eyes slowly opening. Then she tried to lean back on her bed, reclaiming her life so she could be fully awake. However, her eyes widened and she looked around.
"Why am I here?" She said surprised.
She remembered last night she was taking care of her mother, but why was she in her room now? Ellena tried to get out of bed, somehow her body felt so weak and her head felt so dizzy.
"I have to go to the hospital immediately to see mom's condition, it feels like I've been asleep for too long." Ellena immediately rushed over to clean her body.
"Good afternoon, Miss," said Joana who met her as she was walking towards the dining table.
"Good afternoon." Ellena returned the maid's greeting with a smile that always appeared on her face.
"Did Mr. Lucas sleep at home last night?" Ellena asked the maid.
"No, Miss. After dropping off Miss last night, Mr. Lucas told me that he would go back to the hospital and not sleep at home," answered Joana.
"How about me?" Ellena asked again while pointing at her own face.
"Yes, Miss. Last night Mr. Lucas brought Miss in a state that Miss was fast asleep. Mr. Lucas also asked me not to wake Miss even though it's noon, so that Miss can rest." Joana tried to explain what made Ellena curious.
'So it's true I was in the hospital last night, and I overslept there.' Ellena thought.
"Miss, are you sick? Is there anything you need?" Joana asked Ellena again, but this time with a worried expression.
"No. I'm fine, I'm just a little hungry. After eating, I will return to the hospital." Ellena tried to smile, trying to reassure Joana.
"But Miss, your face looks—"
"I'm fine," said Ellena.
The woman then walked to the dining table to fill her hungry stomach. However, not until the foot stepped towards the dining table, her head felt so throbbing and dizzy, her vision began to dim, her body felt so weak.
Ellena's body collapsed on the floor, suddenly it caused a panicked scream from the mouth of Joana who was still standing where she was. The scream was able to invite panic a security guard in front of the house who heard his screams.
Elsewhere, Lucas was seen walking down the corridor of a hospital. After getting news that Ellena had fainted, he immediately asked his driver to take Ellena to the hospital where her mother was being treated.
"You reckless!" He grumbled as he continued to walk faster.
Meanwhile in a patient room at the hospital, Ellena was seen lying down with an IV needle perfectly attached to her hand. Slowly the woman opened her eyes, the first thing she saw when she opened her eyes was the handsome face of her husband.
However, the jaw seemed to harden as his eyes stared intently at Ellena. Meanwhile, not a word came out of the man's mouth. Slowly he pressed one of the buttons on the side of the patient bed that was occupied by Ellena. Now Elena's position is half sitting. Lucas immediately sat down next to Elena.
"Open your mouth." Lucas thrust the spoon filled with porridge into Ellena's mouth.
"Open!" Lucas interrupted again when he saw that Ellena still hadn't opened her mouth.
