Versatile Sword Cultivator

Chapter 132 – Alone with Jiang Luoyu

Chapter 132 – Alone with Jiang Luoyu

"Because the guild is planning to buy a shop recently, we urgently need Spirit Stones. I'm going to sell this batch of equipment to the Kind Equipment Store in the city to exchange for Spirit Stones, so we won't be distributing the equipment this time."

Jiang Luoyu provided a perfect excuse, also covering for Lin Jichen.

Although the members were a bit disappointed, they had no choice but to comply, as the guild leader had always been generous.

This time, it was also understandable since it was to gather Spirit Stones for buying a shop.

However, Jiang Luoyu added, "Everyone has worked hard for the overtime, so each of you will get a red envelope of two thousand yuan."

Yay!

Everyone cheered up again.

Staying up late to play games and earning two thousand yuan was even better than getting equipment!

Besides, they didn't come away empty-handed; they gained cultivation experience from clearing five Secret Realms.

The entire Moon Shadow Guild's members had their realms elevated by one level, reaching a bottleneck.

Some Qi Refining Realm girls with breakthrough elixirs advanced a realm on the spot and then maxed out again.

Those without elixirs could return to their sects, complete a task, and get a breakthrough elixir to ascend a realm.

After clearing the Secret Realm, everyone dispersed.

Su Wanling logged off to distribute the bonuses to the members.

Jiang Luoyu and Lin Jichen were left alone.

Jiang Luoyu handed all the equipment to Lin Jichen, not keeping a single piece, including the two Mysterious Grade items.

"Thanks, I feel bad making you spend so much. How about you take half of the equipment?"

Lin Jichen felt a bit embarrassed as he accepted the items.

Two thousand yuan per person for ten thousand people amounted to twenty million yuan.

He wanted to offer money but simply couldn't afford it...

"No need, you always help our Moon Shadow Guild, consider this as repayment," Jiang Luoyu said.

Lin Jichen sighed in relief, glad he didn't have to pay...

"Thank you then."

Jiang Luoyu asked, "What are you planning to do next? Clear other Secret Realms?"

"I've cleared them all. I'm heading to the Cleansing Lake to clear my red name status. Otherwise, I can't return to the city, and I need to deliver the equipment," Lin Jichen replied.

Jiang Luoyu nodded and added, "Going alone to clear your red name, won't you get ambushed?"

Lin Jichen was about to say he wasn't afraid, but Jiang Luoyu continued, "I have nothing to do right now, so I'll go with you and keep an eye out. If there's an ambush, I can call for backup."

Lin Jichen hesitated for a second, then agreed, "Alright, let's go."

The two left the Secret Realm and headed toward the Cleansing Lake.

On the way, they chatted.

"You seem to know a lot about spell cultivators. Your advice in Canglan Medicine Valley was very helpful," Jiang Luoyu said.

Lin Jichen quickly explained, "I've studied various classes a bit. Know yourself and know your enemy, right?"

Jiang Luoyu didn't doubt him. From Lin Jichen's gameplay, she could tell he had a natural talent for games.

"Can you give me some pointers? I want to improve my personal skills," Jiang Luoyu asked.

"I wouldn't call it pointers, but we can exchange some insights."

"That would be great. I'm all ears."

Lin Jichen didn't hold back, sharing his understanding of spell cultivators and some techniques.

He deliberately made a few mistakes to avoid raising suspicion.

"These are just my personal guesses. I don't know if they work, so don't blame me if I'm wrong."

Jiang Luoyu praised, "Most of what you said is very useful. Listening to you, I feel like I barely know the basics of spell cultivation. I can't imagine how good you'd be if you played a spell cultivator. You'd probably be the top spell cultivator in Tale of Immortal."

Lin Jichen's expression turned a bit odd. Holding back his laughter, he modestly said, "I'm just talking theory, it's nothing. You're smart, you'll get it with more practice."

As they talked, they arrived at the Cleansing Lake. Lin Jichen glanced at Jiang Luoyu and said, "Well, I'll jump in now."

Jiang Luoyu immediately understood, her face turning slightly red as she turned away.

She only turned back after hearing the splash, seeing Lin Jichen soaking in the lake with just his head above water.

The moon hung high, the lake water was clear, and the surroundings were very quiet.

"Guild Leader Jiang, if you're busy, you can go back first. I'll be fine here alone. If someone comes to trouble me, I'll message you for help," Lin Jichen said.

Jiang Luoyu smiled and asked, "Do you dislike my company that much?"

"No, no, that's not what I meant. I just think you're too busy to waste time protecting me," Lin Jichen quickly explained.

"Then let me ask you a few questions, and I'll leave after that."

"Alright, ask away," Lin Jichen replied bitterly, fearing she might see through him.

Jiang Luoyu smiled mischievously and asked, "Are you interested in joining the guild?"

"Huh? Why do you ask? You want me to join your guild?" Lin Jichen asked, puzzled.

"Why not? Any guild would want a player of your caliber," Jiang Luoyu admitted openly.

"Isn't Moon Shadow Guild only for female players?"

"It is, but you could join in disguise or get surgery," Jiang Luoyu joked.

Lin Jichen's face darkened.

Jiang Luoyu laughed and said, "Just kidding. We do only accept female players, but we can make an exception for you."

Lin Jichen chuckled, "No thanks, I prefer being a lone wolf, without too many restrictions."

"I wouldn't restrict you in my guild. You'd set your own salary and benefits. Just help out in guild wars or raids, or I could make you a vice guild leader," Jiang Luoyu offered.

Lin Jichen shook his head with a bitter smile, "No, no, I really don't want to join a guild right now. If I ever decide to join, I'll choose yours—no, I mean your guild."

Jiang Luoyu didn't press further, "Alright then."

"By the way, can I ask what your family does? You seem quite wealthy."

Lin Jichen quickly changed the topic, fearing she might ask something else.

Jiang Luoyu glanced at Lin Jichen, hesitated, and said, "My dad is the world's richest man. Get it?"

"No way! Really? Your dad's the richest man? Who is he? I don't even know."

Lin Jichen exaggerated his reaction, playing the clueless bumpkin perfectly.

"It's normal you don't know. My dad has been out of the public eye for a long time. My family is low-key, and due to some special reasons, not many people know about us now," Jiang Luoyu explained.

Lin Jichen nodded, sighing, "You must be really lucky."

Jiang Luoyu chuckled, "I was very happy as a child, but not so much after growing up."

"Why?"

"Because it's exhausting. I have to manage the company every day. My parents retired, traveling everywhere, leaving the company to me, whether I agreed or not."

Jiang Luoyu's face showed some grievance and resentment.

"Did your parents go abroad? Can't you call them back?"

"They're sort of abroad, but in a very distant place. It's almost impossible to call them back. I might never see them again in this lifetime."

Jiang Luoyu's eyes filled with deep sorrow.

Lin Jichen was confused. How could the world's richest man not return? Were they kidnapped?

Weren't they traveling? Could they be traveling outside the galaxy?
