Chapter 229: Travel 02

Chapter 229

"What happened? What happened?" Chu Yang and Chi Yan rushed over to ask, "Where's the person?"

The woman pointed to a spot in the distance near the sea, crying, "My daughter is over there. She was swept away."

People nearby also rushed over, immediately taking off their clothes to go in. Chi Yan also took off his outer garment and dashed towards the water. Chu Yang, looking at the big waves in the sea, called out, "Chi Yan!"

Chi Yan turned his head to look at her for a moment, then turned back and rushed in. Chu Yang quickly said, "Chi Yan, wait a second." She ran to the side, grabbed a swim ring, and threw it to him. "Take this."

Chi Yan caught the swim ring and ran into the water.

The woman covered her face, crying, "It's all my fault for not watching her closely."

There was no use saying that now. Everyone could only comfort her and wait for Chi Yan and another brave man to bring the girl back. Chu Yang watched their direction anxiously. The waves were quite big, and the rolling surf could push them further away at any moment.

Chu Yang's heart was in her throat. What if something happened to Chi Yan? Should she not have let him go in?

Everyone was waiting. Soon, someone shouted, "They're coming back! They're coming back!"

As they approached the shore, everyone rushed forward to help them.

The little girl was in the swim ring, seemingly unconscious. Chi Yan and the other man were holding onto the ring, slowly swimming back.

Once they reached the shore, Chi Yan and the other man were so exhausted they lay on the beach, gasping for air. The man patted Chi Yan, "Thanks, brother. Without you, I might have drowned trying to save her."

He had almost been swept away by a wave, and his body was losing strength. It was Chi Yan who had pulled him hard, letting him grab the outer ring of the float. Then Chi Yan had dragged both of them slowly back to shore. It had been extremely dangerous.

Chi Yan was too tired to speak, just waving his hand to say it was nothing.

Meanwhile, Chu Yang was performing CPR on the little girl, pressing her chest... "Cough! Cough! Cough!" The little girl finally coughed up water and regained consciousness.

The woman immediately hugged her child, crying loudly, "Nan Nan, you're finally awake!" The others broke into applause.

"Clap, clap, clap, clap, clap."

"The young lady and those two brothers are real heroes!"

At this moment, an ambulance arrived. After a quick check-up, they took the girl to the hospital.

The woman held Chu Yang's hand, thanking her profusely before getting into the ambulance. Chu Yang didn't have time to acknowledge the others; she quickly ran to Chi Yan's side to check on him. "Are you alright?" If there was anything wrong, she would use her healing ability immediately.

Chi Yan was just exhausted. He took her hand with one of his, and waved the other to indicate he was fine.

Chu Yang breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness you're okay." She examined his body, then handed him the clothes he had taken off earlier. "Once you've rested, we'll head back."

"Mm."

About five minutes later, Chi Yan finally regained enough strength to stand up. He put on his clothes and said, "Let's go back for now." They couldn't play anymore now, but they could come out again in the afternoon. He had heard there was barbecue, music bars, and other entertainment in the evening.

"Okay, okay."

Before leaving, the other man thanked them again.

Back at the hotel, they both took a shower first. Then Chi Yan pulled Chu Yang to lie down on the bed and rest. Chu Yang stroked his head, "I was thinking earlier that I shouldn't have let you go in. The sea is too dangerous. If something had happened..."

Chi Yan held her hand, "Nothing happened. I was thinking that if I couldn't save the girl, I would give up, because you were waiting for me on the shore. In any case, I couldn't let anything happen to me. I'm selfish; I can't let my Yang be heartbroken. If I were gone, I wouldn't rest in peace knowing my Yang might marry someone else in the future."

"Tut, tut, tut. Don't talk about resting in peace. You need to stay well and alive."

"Mm."

Soon after, Chi Yan fell asleep. He was truly exhausted.

About two hours later, Chi Yan woke up. They went out for lunch and then headed out again. This time, nothing untoward happened, and they had a great time.

Chu Yang even went into the water for a bit. Because of the morning's incident, she didn't go far, just staying in the shallow part where her feet could touch the sand and the water only reached her knees. She playfully splashed water at Chi Yan, and soon they were laughing and frolicking, ending up soaked.

Chu Yang felt the salty taste of seawater in her mouth and all over her body.

Chi Yan helped her fix her hair, then gave her a kiss. "Hmm, salty taste."

Chu Yang feigned annoyance and swatted at him. "Aren't you the same?"

Afterwards, they walked hand in hand along the beach. Whenever Chu Yang saw pretty shells, she would pick them up. Before they knew it, she had a handful of shells. Looking at them, she said, "Let's string these together when we get back and hang them on the balcony."

"Sure, let's collect more and make a couple of strings."

"Mm-hmm."

They ended up filling a bag with shells.

In the evening, they first took the shells back to the hotel, then went out to find food. Many shops along the beach only opened at night, and now it was very lively. People were singing, young folks were gathered in circles playing games, and the aroma of barbecue wafted from the distance.

Chu Yang swallowed and tugged on Chi Yan's hand. "I'm hungry."

"Then let's hurry and buy some food."

"Okay, okay."

They walked along, eating barbecue, drinking beer and iced tea. In the end, Chu Yang had takoyaki in one hand and milk tea in the other as they strolled and ate, while Chi Yan carried some skewers.

They found a spot on the beach with a large rock and sat down. Listening to the sound of the waves, feeling the sea breeze, they could hear beautiful singing in the distance: "I want to go to the seaside with you, I want to go to the ends of the earth with you, I want us to grow old together just like this..."

After a while... Chu Yang leaned on Chi Yan's shoulder, full and content, starting to feel drowsy.

Chi Yan, worried she might catch a cold from the wind, tidied her wind-tousled hair. "Let's go back."

"Mm."

After returning, they didn't go to sleep right away. Instead, they sat on the balcony, admiring the seaside scenery. In the distance, a lighthouse flashed, and the entire coastline was lit up, like a bright necklace.

Originally, Chu Yang was nestled in Chi Yan's arms, playing with his fingers as they chatted intermittently. Gradually, the atmosphere became intimate, and they kissed tenderly... Before long, Chi Yan couldn't resist anymore and carried her inside. The curtains were drawn, and one could vaguely see Chi Yan carrying her into the bathroom...

The next morning, when Chu Yang woke up, she suddenly noticed something on her finger. She raised her hand to look and saw a ring on her middle finger, with a small diamond sparkling brightly.

Chi Yan walked in from outside carrying breakfast. "Awake? Time to get up and have breakfast."

Chu Yang sat up and showed him her hand. "This..."

Chi Yan came over, took her hand, and kissed it. "It's a ring. Do you like it?" As long as Yang wore the ring, everyone would know she was taken.

Chu Yang looked at his hand. "Don't you have one?"

Chi Yan paused, then took out a box from nearby. "Do you want to put it on me?"

Chu Yang nodded. "Come here, I'll put it on for you."
