Chapter 490: Chapter 490 Let’s Rent a House

(Second Update)

During the afternoon class, Luo Ziling sent Yang Qingyin a message, “Guess who asked to meet me at noon!”

“Who?” Yang Qingyin immediately replied with a message.

Another one followed: “Could it be someone from the Yang Family?!”

“Smart, now guess who exactly it was!”

It was a while before Yang Qingyin replied to the message, “It was my mom, wasn’t it?”

“Worthy of being the most famous talented girl at Yan University, you guessed it in one go. Congratulations, you’re right. I’ll treat you to a big meal tonight!”

However, Luo Ziling’s message was met with a bunch of eye-rolls from Yang Qingyin.

“Alright then, let’s have dinner together tonight and talk about these things,” she sent another message.

After the afternoon classes, Yang Qingyin sent Luo Ziling another message, telling him where she wanted to go for dinner.

Luo Ziling didn’t refuse and followed Yang Qingyin’s arrangement, going to a slightly famous local restaurant a bit far from the school. Luo Ziling told Yang Qingyin to go ahead, and had Xiaoli take her there while he would arrive a bit later.

Although Yang Qingyin was surprised that Luo Ziling suggested such a plan, she ultimately did not decline.

By the time Luo Ziling arrived at the restaurant on foot, Yang Qingyin was already seated there drinking tea.

Seeing Yang Qingyin’s slightly desolate expression and her forced smile when she looked at him, Luo Ziling couldn’t help but feel a bit distressed.

Without saying anything, he walked up behind her, wrapped his arms around her from behind, and leaned in quietly.

Yang Qingyin hadn’t expected Luo Ziling to make such a move; her heart suddenly softened, and she tightly wrapped her arms around his, even pulling Luo Ziling’s head down and kissing him passionately for a moment.

“Was it really my mom who came to see you at noon today?” Yang Qingyin asked Luo Ziling in a soft voice while waiting for the server to bring their food. “What did she tell you?”

Luo Ziling didn’t conceal much and disclosed most of the details, but he hid the suggestion from Chen Qiaoyu that he should get closer to the Ouyang sisters and make everyone believe that he and the sisters had something going on, even a marital engagement.

He feared these words would agitate Yang Qingyin since just a couple of days ago, she had followed him to confront Ouyang Feifei.

He also skipped over the fact that Chen Qiaoyu had once been fond of his father, Luo Xusheng.

After hearing what Luo Ziling had to say, Yang Qingyin seemed quite surprised. She had not anticipated that Chen Qiaoyu came to see Luo Ziling, not to discuss what she had thought, but to speak of things she had never considered. “You’re not lying to me, are you? Did my mom really say these things to you?”

Luo Ziling shook his head, “Why would I lie to you?”

“I thought my mom was coming to give you a telling-off,” Yang Qingyin sighed slightly, “Then I’ve wronged her.”

“You didn’t call your mom and argue with her, did you?” Luo Ziling seemed quite surprised.

“I didn’t do that,” Yang Qingyin shook her head, “To be honest, I had already prepared to break with my family, and I’ve moved most of my stuff to the school.”

“Really?!” Luo Ziling was shocked, “I think your mom’s advice makes sense; don’t confront your dad head-on, it will only backfire.”

“But now, things have already gotten to this stage!” Yang Qingyin said with a bitter smile, “He has decided to make me and Fang Dongxun get engaged, and the action will be taken soon. Avoiding his attacks and keeping a low profile might not work either.”

After a pause, she added, “But there’s some reason in what my mom said; we indeed can’t be so high-profile in front of them, as it would greatly provoke their fragile nerves.”

After thinking for a while, Luo Ziling said, “If something were to happen to Fang Dongxun, then your engagement could be indefinitely postponed.”

Upon hearing this, Yang Qingyin’s expression relaxed a bit, but she quickly furrowed her brows again, “What are you planning to do? Go find him and give him a beating yourself?”

“No,” Luo Ziling shook his head, “I’ve already thought of a way, but I can’t tell you.”

Seeing the mysterious look on Luo Ziling’s face, Yang Qingyin rolled her eyes and said, “Alright then, I won’t ask. Let’s see what kind of rotten idea you’ve come up with.”n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

“I need to make a phone call,” Luo Ziling said, clearly excited about the solution he’d thought of. Seeing that the food hadn’t arrived yet, he decided to start making arrangements.

“I’m going to the restroom,” said Yang Qingyin as she walked out of the private room to look for the bathroom.

After Yang Qingyin left, Luo Ziling took out his phone and dialed a number.

While making the call, he felt a bit nervous.

Thankfully, after a few rings, the call was picked up, and Lin Lan’s unfriendly voice came from the phone, “What do you want?”

“Are you still in Yanjing?” Luo Ziling asked in a low voice.

“Just get to the point,” Lin Lan sounded a bit impatient.

Luo Ziling felt somewhat hurt, but he eventually told her about what had happened at Simatai Great Wall the day before, making it sound more serious than it was.

After listening, Lin Lan’s tone changed dramatically, “Someone dared to try to kill you? Do you know who it was?”

“It must be Fang Dongxun,” Luo Ziling said as he briefly described Fang Dongxun’s situation.

“He dares to send someone to kill you? I won’t let him off,” Lin Lan said angrily, then abruptly hung up the call.

Not expecting things to turn out this way, Luo Ziling was stunned as Lin Lan had hung up before he could finish speaking.

But in the end, he didn’t call her back; he believed Lin Lan would help him realize some of his ideas.

When Yang Qingyin returned, Luo Ziling had finished his call and the waiter had served the dishes.

“Done with your phone call?” Yang Qingyin asked quietly as she sat down.

“It’s nothing, let’s eat,” Luo Ziling smiled, “Were you tired from yesterday? Did you sleep well?”

“Of course, I didn’t sleep well,” Yang Qingyin rolled her eyes again, “We climbed so many stairs yesterday and I got scared several times. I was exhausted, and my legs are still sore today.”

“Should I give you a massage later?” Luo Ziling asked with a smile, trying to be amiable, “I’ll make sure you feel really comfortable.”

“Where will you massage me?” Yang Qingyin blushed at the memory of the last time they went to a hotel.

“Why not go to Xiaoli’s place? She should be free today,” Luo Ziling suggested with a smile, “Her place is the most suitable.”

After thinking it over, Yang Qingyin finally agreed, “Okay, let’s go there later.”

After eating for a while, Yang Qingyin suddenly mentioned something that surprised Luo Ziling, “Ziling, I’m thinking about renting an apartment.”

“Why?” Luo Ziling was quite surprised.

He wasn’t very familiar with college life and didn’t know much about college students renting apartments for cohabitation.

“Maybe, I will really be driven out by my father. If that happens, Xiaoli won’t follow me anymore either, but anyway, I definitely won’t be going home often. And, it’s not convenient for you to treat me,” Yang Qingyin said, her voice tinged with shyness, “So, I’m thinking of renting or even buying a place outside, to make things easier.”

This statement startled Luo Ziling once more.

He was somewhat at a loss for words.
