Chapter 26: You are too white, almost transparent.

Just as he sent out that sentence, Ji Zhiyao very clearly heard in his ear-mic a lazy chuckle followed by Mo Huaifeng’s slightly sneering voice. “Already said that it’s a man.”
“...”
The happenings on that side suddenly become a little chaotic as if a bunch of people initially crowding around an ear-mic then quickly spread out, with many regretful sighs amidst it all and even a man muttering. “So what if it’s a man. Captain, are you having a misunderstanding about your stance of hitting on both guys and gals alike?”
“???”
He vaguely heard Mo Huaifeng say, “In the following month if you still want your blue buff, you better shut up.” Then, sure enough, the other side aggrievedly kept quiet, not daring to make a sound. Mo Huaifeng then spoke simply into the ear-mic. “It’s not a team match. Xiao went to the hospital to check out his hand injury, so they wanted me to bring them up the ranks.”
His doubts were temporarily answered, and Ji Zhiyao let out an ‘oh’ as an afterthought, selectively choosing to not understand the teasing of the other members of the Mix team. “Then are we starting?”
“Hold on, I’ll get them to go on voice chat.”
Ji Zhiyao’s question of ‘what is there to voice chat when all of you are sitting next to each other in the same base’ had yet to be voiced out when three more male voices sounded in his earphones, so he just kept his mouth shut.
... He decided not to guess about the thoughts of the boss because he felt that even if he tried, he wouldn’t understand.
When everyone was in, Mo Huaifeng clicked ‘Enter Match,’ and they were quickly matched with another team for a 5v5.
Ji Zhiyao first locked onto an assassin in white, ensuring that all his abilities were in place before zooming back out to observe the bosses. This observation... almost killed him.
The first top-laner K was considered reasonable, having picked a champion that was not very tanky but still a competent champion. Mid-laner Heng and support Nuo were different; one chose a moldy mid-lane champion that nobody had used in a million years, which, according to legends, did not only look dreadful but also had dreadful abilities and was probably the most unpicked hero in all the matches of Heroes; support Nuo... picked a crusty mage which had very high damage but could not tank damage at all and was probably specially to create trouble for Fi-god.
When he shifted his vision to the ADC position on the fourth level, Ji Zhiyao became even quieter.
What could feel worse than seeing your teammate pick out a champion with ‘0 matches played’ in a ranked game?
Looking at the four eye-stinging champions listening to the merry jesting and occasionally obscenities, Ji Zhiyao even started to suspect whether Mo Huaifeng was doing this because he had told on little disciple last night and hence intentionally sought to strike him for revenge, telling his teammates to bring out the ‘deathly’ combination that was stowed away.
Ji Zhiyao quietly consoled himself deep down. This does not seem like something Fi-god would do.
Then, he was slapped in the face by his own words. It was as if even the atmosphere was ringing with the crisp and clear slapping sounds.
All was harmonious in the first few minutes of the match until the first wave of creeps appeared, and the world became not as adorable anymore.
Ji Zhiyao first headed to the blue buff and began working on killing. While doing so, he caught a glimpse of the half-naked mid-laner swaggering towards the defense turret. Originally a peaceful brush past, but once Ji Zhiyao was done with daddy blue, he turned back and directly witnessed Heng killing the third largest creep in the left half of the jungle.
Ji Zhiyao: ??
Heng laughed wryly. “Passing by, passing by.”
The assassin in white stood rooted for a few seconds, dejectedly shifting to the right jungle.
He stepped into the bushes and headed to the red buff in the dark. Ji Zhiyao blinked and realized that the red buff beside him was gone.
In the earphone, the culprit who took the first wave’s red buff was composed, not sounding very apologetic. “Forgot this was the first wave and didn’t see you coming for it either.”
Ji Zhiyao replied. “I was such a big person rushing towards this side...”
Mo Huaifeng replied. “You are too white, almost transparent.”
Ji Zhiyao: ?*%&/#!!!
