Chapter 33: Cursed Lyud Worm
Chapter 33: Cursed Lyud Worm
Heinald and the others had come close to the great hill after hours of walking, the only sounds they heard along the way were the sound of the wind and their own. Other than that, they hadn't heard any sound, and not hearing any sound in a dangerous place like this place was creating psychological pressure.
"Wait! Did you feel it?" Dane suddenly stopped.
"Yes, the ground is shaking!" Heinald nodded.
"Earthquake?" Morena's thin brows frowned slightly.
* Pa! * About 50 meters away, a gigantic worm emerged from under the dry land, so large that it covered half of their vision, despite being 50 meters away.
"This is a Cursed Lyud Worm!" Dane cried out in surprise.
"The Cursed Lyud Worm?" Heinald had never seen such a Magical Beast.
"It can't move fast outside of the ground, but its armor is incredibly strong." Dane's face had a solemn expression. This Magical Beast had the power of a Level 2 Ainsar and was pretty gigantic. Tens of thousands of jagged teeth in his mouth resembled spears, steam escaping from various parts of his massive body.
"If we all attack together, we can break through his armor." Ruske said.
"Let's finish this!" Dane shouted.
Heinald immediately cast Lightning Spear and threw it at the giant worm.
* BOOM! *
When Lightning Spear hit the giant worm, there was a violent explosion of lightning. Since Lightning Spear is a field magic, its area of effect was quite wide. The violent lightning struck half of the worm's body.
* WAA! * The giant worm roared.
"Damn, he's not even lightly damaged!" When the dust cloud from the explosion dissipated, the body of the giant worm became fully visible. Heinald immediately examined his body, but was unable to detect damage.
"Predator Destruction!" Morena murmured a spell name. A cloud of fire appeared above the worm and small bits of flame began to pour down.
"These flames are too small to damage it." Heinald thought and shook his head. However, something unexpected happened at that moment, when small pieces of flame fell to the ground, they started to explode. Those explosions were not very violent, but when thousands of explosions occurred at the same time, the ground began to shake and the surrounding area was completely covered with dust.
Unfortunately, the giant worm was unharmed by this attack, crawling out of the dust clouds and plunging into the ground.
"Everybody be careful, he will attack from under the ground! Don't stand still!" Dane shouted.
Heinald immediately cast his spell called Whisper of the Wind and began to glide. Others started running around with all their might. Everywhere was shaking as the giant worm crawled under the ground. This meant that there is no a lot distance between them.
"Shaking has intensified! Its about to come out, be careful!" Heinald warned.
* WAAA! * The giant worm came out from under the ground and jumped up about 100 meters. The body of the giant worm had overshadowed a large area.
"What the hell ..." Heinald's eyes were wide open. The giant worm was able to move fairly quickly under the ground, with the momentum it gained it could jump so high when it came out.
"Be careful!" When the giant worm fell to the ground, it created an effect as if a meteor had fallen. The shock wave appeared blew everything around. A large crater had formed where the worm fell, and hundreds of tons of soil were scattered around.
Heinald and others were blown violently by the shock wave and their internal organs were damaged.
They were caught under the spilled soil.
Heinald was not badly injured due to the toughness of his robe, but he did not know the condition of the others. He immediately cast the Wind of Aira and flew the soil above him. Others had used their wind-based magic to lift the soil on them too.
Heinald began to examine them. Blood ran slightly from the corner of their mouths and from their noses,it was also same for him. Ruske was holding his ribs, his ribs had been damaged. Mady's arm was broken, the young girl was clenching her teeth in pain. Others did not seem to have any serious problems.
There was no damage to Heinald's bones, he was happy once again to strengthen them. Strong bones mean strong foundation, physically.
"I'm not going to ask if everybody is okay ... Can you continue?" Heinald looked around and asked.
Their condition was obvious!
"We must continue!" Dane said and nobody tried to oppose.
"Morena, try to hold him steady using the Fire Vines. I will cast the Blood Freezing Sword." Ruske looked at Morena.
Morena nodded and began casting a spell.
Vapors rose first from under the giant worm, then Fire Vines emerged from the ground and began to wrap around it. The giant worm began to struggle violently.
"Try to be fast, vines can't take long!" Morena said.
"Although the damage of Blood Freezing Sword is very high, the casting time is too long." Dane said.
Fire Vines were beginning to break and disappear one by one, while Ruske was still casting the spell in a focused way.
"Done!" After about 10 seconds, Ruske had finished casting the spell, but by that time the last fire vine was gone. Waves of flame came out of Ruske's hand and they flew over the worm and formed a great sword. The great sword quickly fell to the worm.
* BOOM! * There was a violent fire explosion and scorching flames rose from the ground.
"Damn! Even the most damaged growth could only inflict a small wound on him!" Ruske cried out in surprise, and although a small slit had been made where the sword fell, it was not such an injury to weaken the giant worm.
"He's going to dive under the ground again! Before it does that, let's all attack at the same time!" Heinald shouted. The more attacks they could attack this damn worm, the more advantageous they would be.
"Dishonor of Insanity!" Mady yelled, and lightning appeared all over her body. Then, accompanied by thunder, all the lightning around her struck the worm. The giant body of the worm wobbled when it was struck by dozens of lightning bolts at the same time.
"Dragon Instinct!" Five fireballs formed around Morena and they started flying towards the worm at the same time. When the first fireball hit the worm, there was no explosion and the fireball did not disappear.Later, other fireballs stuck to the giant worm's body. When all five fireballs came together, a chain of fire formed between them and they began to radiate intense light and heat.
* BOM! * There was an explosion of fire big enough to cover the entire body of the giant worm. A violent heat wave spread around.
Heinald cast and sent his spell called Lightning Spear, and there was a violent lightning explosion.
"Neverending Nightmare!" An ice-blue orb formed in Ruske's hand, and it flew over the worm, and a succession of lightning bolts began to hit the worm.
"Lyus Wave!" Dane pointed both hands at the worm, and a wave of arc-shaped flame appeared in front of them and flew towards the worm.
* BOOM! * Powerful spells cast on the worm in succession caused violent explosions. Intense fire and lightning explosions destroyed everything around the worm.
"What's the condition?" Dane asked, hoping that after repeated use of such violent spells, they would get him. But when he saw the worm flying through the dust cloud and coming upon them, his hope vanished.
"How can the body of this damn thing be so durable?" Heinald gritted his teeth. Examining the worm's body he saw only a few injuries. These wounds weren't enough to kill him.
"Should we run?" Mady asked worriedly.
"We can't escape! It can easily follow us. That's why we must fight to the death!" Dane grit his teeth.
"We can't do any deadly damage to it from the outside, but maybe we can do it from the inside." Heinald said.
"I can wrap it with Fire Vines." Morena said.
"Everyone, try to send your spells into the mouth of the worm!" Heinald started running towards the worm.
Morena again wrapped the Fire Vines to the giant worm.
"Death Ray!" Heinald pointed his hands at the worm's mouth, the scorching ray of fire coming out of his hands, straight into the worm's mouth. Meanwhile, the others sent the spells they cast into the worm's mouth and head.
* WUUUAA! * The giant worm frantically stumbled and escaped the Fire Vines. It swung around quickly and dived under the ground.
"We must have hurt him!" Dane said excitedly.
"Let's attack in the same way when he comes back to the surface." Heinald gladly nodded.
"There is a problem! My Magic Energy has run out!" Morena had a worried expression. She had spent the most Magic Energy since the war with the giant worm began. Moreover, the spells she cast were highly effective fire-based spells. Since she came from a strong family, the spells she had were quite powerful,so these spells must have consumed too much Magic Energy.
