The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 235 - No Talk With Father!

Chapter 235 - No Talk With Father!

Sierra's hand stopped in the middle air after she heard that question. Her eyes widened but she hid it before any of her children could have even taken notice of the same.

Instead of elaborating, Sierra kept on cleaning Ailey's spot on the skirt with tissue but Noah was persistent to ask, "Tell me, mommy! When will daddy come to us?"

"Yes, mum. When will father come to visit us here?" Ailey asked, adding to the same longing to see and meet her father.

At this stage, Sierra really wanted to cry. Her inner self wanted to just change the question but she knew this too well that if she doesn't answer, they will continue to pester.

Clearing her throat, Sierra answered in her usual tone, "I told you that your father had some work back at state. He will come when he has enough time to be here. I can't give you any date.."

"Our father said that he will visit us very soon. Maybe in a? week or two but I don't see anything like this happening mother!" Ailey remembered their father's words before they met him.

The words were like cold water dropped on Sierra's head when she swallowed her eyes to meet her children's moving gaze, "But plans changed, Ailey. Sometimes things don't go as we plan them out.."

"But at least we can talk to him over the phone.. right?"

Can we call him? That was how Sierra thought when she finished cleaning the spot on Ailey's skirt and threw the same tissue in the dustbin, "Umm.. What will you guys have? I guess a salad will be fine with ice cream. Hmm?"

"I will eat noodles, bugger, Pizza!" Noah's eyes lifted at the thought to put forward his demand, on which he got second support from Ailey as well, to raise her hand, "Mee too!"

As the wordings were suggestive, she blessed them with dagger signs to ask, "You both aren't afraid that cavities will come and capture your teeth!?!"

"Mommy, We brush two times a day just because of that. Cavities will not come to us and if they do, we will fight them.." Noah's childish reply only made Sierra's face slap herself

Were they innocent? And maybe yes they were but on the second thought, they can find any excuse to have what they want and try to reason out in all matters.

"I'm giving a reference. You finish the ice cream first and don't let it fall on your clothes."

"Hmm. But Mommy, please tell me. Are We going to meet daddy soon? I miss him.." When she thought that she easily escaped the question era, came the pestering voice of Noah who looked too reluctant.

'Wasn't that distraction enough for them to stop asking? I wish.. what am I supposed to tell you guys about that now?'

Her decision to come here was a wise one, considering the deadly situation out there. Was she supposed to tell them!? She can't come up with that answer. But if she had lived abroad, chances of dying were much higher than that of surviving.

Taking a deep breath, Sierra closed her eyes and then opening again, she replied to them to look at both? of their faces straight, "See, if we go to daddy, knows his work will be hard and difficult."

"If we disturb him and distract him, then it will take longer to complete the work and if that happens it might make you both wait a lot more for him. He will not be able to travel until his work is completed so patience is the key.. Your father will come once he is free and out of his work.." and Alive too.

It was hard to convey the message since both of them were still children. She knew that making them understand would be best, otherwise, they will ask her from time to time, and finding excuses on a regular basis will only make her prone to doubts and suspiciousness..

In the response, both of them nodded their heads, "So we have to wait so that daddy can come to us as soon as possible?"

"Yes Ailey, we have to wait and do not disturb him.." she doesn't want to continue this topic anymore and changed the topic immediately, towards their studies and admission in this new place.

But at the same time, Charles who was sitting at the other table heard all their talks regarding their love and father. The father was busy? He didn't come with them here?

'Why do I know that everything isn't right? She can't even make them talk to her own husband!? What could be the reason?' Her remake already made him raise his own doubts but he can't determine even a thing until he has proof.

But it was also the truth that she had moved on in her life. She has two children who are loved and adored by her.

After all, who doesn't love and adore their children? Just from her eyes, she can sense that she is willing to go through any obstacle for them. 'You have become a mother Sierra but.. not of our children..'

The thought was crashing which brought a sardonic smile plastered on his lips. Cupping his face, he kept it in his palm to realize and think about the circumstances he is living in.

"You moved on.. but I failed to do so. I'm still living with those memories, my love.. with our old share of the times...." murmuring it in between his breath, only he knew that it was damn hard to overcome what he went through.

When he was immersed in his thoughts he heard Sierra pay the bill and the family stood on their toes ready to head out. Due to the depth of their thoughts and his perfect focus on their talks, he didn't realize that he passed almost half an hour in this shop because of her.

When they were ready to pass by his side, Charles hid his face in his arms and moved his face in another direction to not be recognized peeking at her, or vice versa.

Letting her pass by was the best option but he felt he had to keep a lot of self-control, where he controlled his urge to stop her and hug her.

The children passed by his table when he sensed his stiff body relaxed a bit.

Yet it was all a waste when the soft and sweet voice entered his ears, "Gentleman, looks like you dropped your handkerchief here.."
