The Girl Who Reincarnated as a Vampire Heiress

Chapter 28

Chapter 28

Just as Ren Yunying was at a loss, all the first-year new students swarmed towards Chloe like bees.

"Oh my god, this senior went too far!"

"Our little miss's hand is broken! How inhuman!"

"Is there any medicine? Does anyone have medicine? Chloe, do you want me to take you to the infirmary?"

"..."

While a large group of students fussed over Chloe, asking solicitously about her condition, the area around Red Hair was much more deserted.

Yet Chloe had a gentle smile on her face as she patiently explained to the students that she was not seriously injured.

"It's just a broken wrist. It can be fixed."

The human students looked indignant and aggrieved. "What do you mean, just! A broken wrist can cause big problems! How could that senior be so reckless!"

Chloe shook her head mildly. "It's alright."

Hearing this, Ren Yunying looked towards Red Hair, still lying prone on the ground. The senior students who had come over to watch from afar made no move to help either. Her expression was complex.

Ren Yunying went over and pulled Red Hair up. "Got nothing better to do than come here and get into trouble? You brought this on yourself."

The punch Red Hair had taken was especially vicious. His face was badly swollen and he spoke unclearly.

Right now, looking at the only person who had come to show concern for him, Red Hair felt for the first time that the infamous demon commander of the military academy was not actually so terrifying after all.

Red Hair sniffled gratefully, "...Thank you, commander. I now..."

"That's enough, stop talking," Ren Yunying looked at him pitilessly and said, "As a senior bullying a new student that you can't even beat, go to my office to receive your punishment after you've recovered."

Red Hair: "..."

Tearfully, he left this place that caused him such heartache.

On the other side, Chloe, encircled by the crowd, noticed Ren Yunying looking over.

She decisively pushed her way out of the crowd and went up to Ren Yunying, clearly trying to elicit sympathy.

Getting into a fight was never very glorious. She could only smoothly resolve this whole affair by getting lenient treatment from Ren Yunying.

The girl's long black hair was a bit messy, her cheeks flushed, and there were tears shimmering in her eyes. She looked the very picture of an aggrieved little victim. Her voice was extremely pitiful.

"Instructor, why do the seniors at school attack people unprovoked? Look at my hand, it's swollen like a steamed bun."

"I really didn't expect him to fight so viciously."

Ren Yunying looked at the little girl putting on her act of vulnerability before her, seemingly trying not to laugh. "Weren't you also quite vicious when you kicked him below the belt?"

Hearing this, Chloe faltered for a second before breezily changing the subject.

"Instructor, you can blame me for this. He did provoke me first after all. But I absolutely don't resent him one bit. Although I'm a little uncomfortable now and my wrist still hurts a lot, I know you're fair and we students all understand that."

Chloe looked utterly sincere as she spoke. She cradled her injured wrist, on the verge of tears - were it not for the fact that one would think Ren Yunying was the one bullying her!

"..."

Ren Yunying pinched the bridge of her nose, looking rather helpless. "Speaking like that, how can I punish you?"

"Of course not!" Chloe said earnestly. "You needn't be lenient with me, Instructor."

Hearing this, the surrounding students spontaneously swarmed forward to plead justice for Chloe. The young vampires and humans in particular were extremely indignant, and occasionally looked at Chloe with admiration and fondness.

Even the werewolves, usually hostile to vampires, came to intercede.

If Ren Yunying did not let her off lightly now, she would likely be pestered by these students to death.

Yet the girl at the heart of all this still had that pitiable expression as she looked at Ren Yunying.

Ren Yunying was rendered speechless. She bent down to look the girl in the eye and laughed. "Quite the smooth operator, aren't you."

Chloe's eyes darted shiftily as she feigned ignorance.

And so the matter was lightly dismissed. Ren Yunying said she would not report this to the school leadership, only lightly reminding them not to antagonize seniors in future.

The students chorused their assent before happily running off to fuss over Chloe.

After Ren Yunying left, Chloe's pitiful act vanished instantly.

She yawned and tutted. "It's just a minor injury. No need to go to the infirmary."

"That senior really was pathetic."

The young vampires around her all nodded in agreement.

Chloe looked down at her wrist, a little annoyed. She was about to use her other hand to wrench it back into place.

But before she could act, Anderson blocked her hand.

In his hand he held a medicinal trauma spray.

Chloe stared blankly. "Where did you get that from?"

Anderson glanced at her. "I brought it with me."

After speaking, he sprayed the healing spray on Chloe's broken wrist.

Brought with you?

First a sewing kit, now healing spray. Just what had Anderson brought with him when he came to the military academy?

Chloe poked his arm. "Are you Doraemon?"

After spraying her wrist, Anderson placed the can on the ground and gently massaged her injured wrist. Hearing this, he let out a soft laugh. "You can take me for him."

There was no Doraemon in this world, but when Chloe was bored in the past she would chat with Anderson about the blue cat with its four-dimensional pocket.

While Chloe was lost in thought, Anderson suddenly twisted her wrist back into place with a crisp snap.

"Ah!"

The pain made Chloe bare her teeth. She glared at Anderson and snatched her wrist back, cradling it protectively.

"You take them for training. I'm going to rest for a bit."

Anderson obeyed and handed the medicinal spray to Chloe before summoning the young vampires to the running track.

Perhaps inspired by Chloe's example, the young vampires were exceptionally obedient this time, doing as instructed without any complaints or sighs as they headed to the track.

The fight had been worth it. At least among the new students, Chloe's prestige had been established.

She lounged boredly on the grass, using her extrasensory perception to monitor her team's progress. Suddenly, a shadow fell over her from behind.

Chloe drew back her perception and looked up to see Qin Huaibei.

"Aren't you going for training?" Chloe asked.

Qin Huaibei shook his head and handed her a bag of medicine.

Chloe took it blankly before realizing they were all effective treatment for her wrist.

Her brows quirked slightly. "Vanished for half a day. Turns out you went to buy medicine."

"Thanks for the thought, but you can have them back. I'm good now after the medicinal spray." Chloe returned the bag.

Qin Huaibei's eyebrows knitted minutely. "Medicinal spray?"

Clearly he had not expected her to be carrying such an effective medicine.

Not only were trauma sprays expensive, to bring them on a plane required jumping through all sorts of tedious bureaucratic hoops. Hardly anyone would take the trouble to bring a can overseas.

Chloe sounded lazy. "Anderson brought it. He's never bothered by complications."

Having said this, she straightened up, "But if you wanted to thank me for the sewing kit last time, this bit of medicine is far from enough."

Hearing this, Qin Huaibei stared blankly for a moment before smiling. "It's not because of that. I just wanted to ask you for a favor."

Chloe looked at him. "What is it?"

Qin Huaibei: "You're very good at shooting. Could you teach me?"
