Chapter 1586: Competition for Assistant(1)

The world Emeka was in was a technological world, with its technology tree being advanced enough to put individuals in space and make interstellar trades with nearby life planets.

"Show me the video," Emeka calmly called out.

The assistant nodded and handed a tablet to him. There was a video playing on it.

There were seven gigantic ships in the form of a cone moving quickly toward their world. A sense of charging could be seen as the weapons were gathering energy. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"How long before they reach us?"

"Your majesty, it could be anything between 100 and 200 years."

Even though the enemy ships had reached the solar system, the solar system was several thousand light-years, and the ships were moving at five times the light speed.

The researchers weren't confident about the actual speed of the ship, so they gave an estimate between 100 and 200 years.

"Have we tried to contact them?"

"Yes, we were returned with abuses and demeaning comments."

Emeka fell silent while the heartbeat of the people in the room rose. Emeka was at the peak of his power at that moment, and there was no one powerful enough to challenge him or his army, so the fate of the world depended upon what decision Emeka would take.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

Emeka seemed to have made a decision and tapped three times on the table, bringing the attention of everyone to him.

"Since the enemy wants to attack, let's prepare our defenses."

The average lifespan of the people in the world was seven hundred years, and since Emeka was only one hundred and twenty-seven years old, he was still in the prime of his life. For a moment, he thought of attacking the ships, but without knowing the capability of the enemy, it was a very big risk to take, and things could go way out of his control.

Emeka was someone who liked things to be in his control, so he decided to focus on defenses.

"Make preparation for an emergency announcement!"

He didn't give time to the people in the room and left after the order. The assistant hurriedly followed since she needed to follow through what was ordered.

The people in the room could only look at each other with heavy expressions. They could sense that the Emperor was going to inform the people of the world about it since an emergency announcement wasn't a small thing.

During the emergency announcement, the world would come to a halt. Only the Emperor's words mattered at that moment. It didn't matter if someone was on life support or with their partner in their bed.

Every conscious being needed to hear the announcement. Those who failed to do so despite being able enough to would be fined a heavy sum of money that could even ruin wealthy people, let alone the poor or middle class.

A few minutes after Emeka's order, a notification flashed on every device and television, ordering the people to attend the emergency announcement an hour later.

"What in the world's name is wrong with the Emperor? He just became an emperor, and he already is dictating," Anna angrily and helplessly complained. Her husband was in the hospital, and his surgery was scheduled an hour later.

Now with the emergency announcement, the surgery wouldn't be happening, and it could be life-threatening since her husband was terminally ill.

Anna wasn't the only one complaining about the sudden decision. Those who were from Emeka's original country knew about his nature, so they didn't complain, but the people of other countries that had recently joined after being conquered didn't like it.

One man even publicly insulted the Emperor, and only a few minutes later, a new post was made from his account on the forum.

It wasn't an apology, but a photo of his head and his headless body being placed next to each other on the ground. The entire world became even more fearful and angry with the Emperor.

Once the time for the emergency announcement arrived, the entire world looked at the screens on their devices.

Emeka had a calm expression as he began the announcement.

"My people of Mysaria, I have a heavy announcement to make. Enemies are slowly approaching our world. They aren't hiding their intentions of conquering this lovely world which gave birth to you, your mother, your father, your children, and others."

The next moment, a video of the fleet played out, and the abuses and demeaning message were also played out for everyone to hear.

The people couldn't help but become angry when they heard the message. They began bombarding their comments and didn't hold back on their words.

Emeka's lips twitched as he could see many of the comments. Even he, who had seen so many things, couldn't help but feel embarrassed. But he controlled himself, and his stoic face remained the same.

"From this moment on, every individual above the age of twenty will join the army and start training. Failing to join the army will lead to public execution…"

Emeka then revealed the new policies made after putting the entire world in an emergency. The world had fully changed at that moment. People's rights had disappeared. Virile men and women needed to mate so that the world wouldn't lack soldiers to fight.

Many accepted the new policies without complaining, but some felt it was too much. In response to that, those who had complaints about the policy were publically executed on the charge of treason. No one dared to complain after that.

***

A year had passed since the emergency announcement made by the Emperor. Following the announcement, large screens were placed at every corner of the world, and they showed the real-time data of the fleet coming toward their world.

In just a year many people had become numb due to the same schedule every day. Entertainment had fully disappeared. Even sex was no longer just to vent or for excitement. It was only for reproduction.

Due to that, the hatred for the Emperor was at its peak; those who were hated even more were the aliens. The people couldn't wait to crush the heads of those aliens to vent their frustration.
