Chapter 791 - The Return of a Saint

Chapter 791 The Return of a Saint

The next morning, Qin Haodong took Su Hui back to Huaxia from Myanmar and once again set foot on the path to Wangshan Village.

On the way, they saw the villagers beating gongs and drums to welcome them.

After what happened in Dawang Village, the villagers in Wangshan lived in fear that some zombies would rush into their village and turn them into monsters.

Now they were happy to hear that the Medical Sage, who could cure this strange disease, had returned to Wangshan Village. They beat drums and welcomed Qin Haodong and Su Hui into the village like heroes.

The 18 patients who were infected in Dawang Village were all sent here. There was a limited number of rooms, so three patients needed to share an isolation room.

Qin Haodong felt their pulse and found that there was no change in their condition, so he took out the Sanbao Blood-Cleansing Pill and let them take one each.

Half an hour later, these people woke up one by one. After professional blood tests, doctors confirmed that these patients were completely back to normal.

“Run, zombies are coming!”

When Guo Tao opened his eyes, he didn’t realize what had happened. He was very scared. He jumped up and was about to run away, but found himself in the isolation room. Qin Haodong was standing in front of him, and there were two fully-armed policemen at the door.

He looked around and did not see Zhuo Bufan or Zhao Meng. He asked with frustration, “What the hell is going on?”

Qin Haodong said with a smile, “We already know what you, Zhuo Bufan, and Zhao Meng have done. Now both of them are waiting for you in prison. Hurry up and go with the police.”

At this time, two policemen also came over and handcuffed Guo Tao.

“No, you can’t do this...”

Guo Tao shouted crazily. He had come here to gain experience and didn’t want to be put in jail.

Guo Tao cried out crazily, but it was useless. His family was quite influential in the Imperial Capital Institute of Biotechnology. But outside the research institute, their influence would be greatly reduced. What’s more, they were in Yunnan Province now, which was beyond his family’s reach.

Moreover, the case was personally supervised by Gao Haiming from the Minister of Health. After learning the truth, he put Zhao Meng and Zhuo Bufan in prison. Now Guo Tao would face a similar ending.

If everything went well, the three of them would spend the rest of their lives in prison.

Qin Haodong cured all the patients who were infected with the zombie virus. After so many dark days, Wangshan Village was finally restored to peace.

When Qin Haodong walked out of the ward, Li Laogen kowtowed to him with other villagers present to express their gratitude.

As the representative of the Department of Sanity, Wang Zhonglin said to Qin Haodong, “Doctor Qin, the villagers of Wangshan Village are grateful to you, and the people of Yunnan Province are also grateful to you!”

Qin Haodong said, “Get up, please. I’m a doctor. It’s my duty to treat and save patients!”

Wang Zhonglin said, “Doctor Qin, please come with me. The living conditions here are rather poor. Let’s go back to celebrate for you.”

Qin Haodong said, “Director Wang, the matter has not been settled yet. It’s far too early for the celebration.”

Wang Zhonglin asked in surprise, “Doctor Qin, both Niu Erwa and Zhang Dazhuang are dead. All the patients infected with the virus have been cured. Is there anything else that has not been settled yet?”

Qin Haodong said gravely, “Niu Erwa is dead, but the bat that bit him is still alive. If we don’t eradicate the source of the infection, other villagers might get bitten one day, and it will cause more serious consequences.”

There was one thing that he hadn’t mentioned yet. This virus incident was a conspiracy. If they didn’t catch the man behind the scenes, they could not live in peace.

Wang Zhonglin said, “Doctor Qin’s words make sense, but bats generally live deep in the mountains and forests. It’s impossible to guard against them, let alone get rid of these animals.”

Qin Haodong said, “Don’t worry about that, Mr. Wang. I have my ways. Let’s celebrate after eradicating the source of the infection.”

“Doctor Qin, you’re really forward-looking and dignified. I’ll wait for your good news.”

Wang Zhonglin then went back to report to the Department of Sanity with his men. Qin Haodong and Su Hui stayed in Wangshan Village.

Hearing that Qin Haodong would stay here to get rid of the source of the virus, Li Laogen said, “Doctor Qin, if there is anything we can do to help, do not hesitate to say it. We can provide both money and manpower.”

Qin Haodong said, “I just need your tent for a few more days.”

Li Laogen said, “Doctor Qin, the tents are not comfortable to live in. You and Dr. Su should stay at my house together. It is not far from here; only about two or three miles away.”

Qin Haodong waved his hand and said, “Mr. Li, thank you, but we’d better stay here. We’ve gotten used to the tents.”

He didn’t know where his opponents were, so he didn’t want to bring trouble to these simple and honest villagers.

After several invitations, Li Laogen realized that Qin Haodong really didn’t want to live in his house, so he had to give up.

Seeing that it was lunchtime, the villagers served up a delicious meal in the Wangshan government building to express their gratitude to Qin Haodong and Su Hui.

During lunch, Qin Haodong asked Li Laogen, “Mr. Li, where did Niu Erwa get injured?”

Li Laogen said, “It was on Savage Mountain behind Oxhorn Village. He had been hunting in the mountains but fainted as soon as he got back to the village and was then carried home by the villagers. He later began to develop a fever and have convulsions and other symptoms of viral infection.”

“Where had he been on Savage Mountain? Does everyone know about this?”

Li Laogen said, “Nobody knows. When he came back, he had a high fever and was unconscious. He didn’t say a word. After waking up, he went crazy. No one knows where he had been.”

Qin Haodong thought for a while and asked again, “Does anyone know where the most bats are on Savage Mountain?”

Li Laogen said, “I know. There is a Black Dragon Cave behind Savage Mountain. That cave has the most bats. No one can count how many bats there are. And when those beasts fly out, the entire sky will be covered, which is very scary.”

While speaking of the bats in Black Dragon Cave, he said worriedly, “Doctor Qin, I don’t think it’s a good idea. Black Dragon Cave is too dangerous, and there are thousands of bats inside. I’m afraid you can’t do this by yourself.”

Qin Haodong said, “Don’t worry, I know how to deal with them.”

Li Laogen was still a little worried. “Doctor Qin, why don’t I choose some villagers to go up the mountain with you?”

“There’s no need. I can do it alone. It’ll be troublesome if there are too many people.”

Qin Haodong had his Qi to protect himself. Not to mention bats, even poisonous snakes and fierce beasts could not hurt him. It would be a burden if there were too many people around.

“Well, Doctor Qin, I’ll ask a few young hunters to wait for you here. If there’s anything wrong, send me a message and we’ll come to the rescue immediately.”

Qin Haodong nodded. Although he didn’t need their help, he should not turn down Li Laogen’s kind offer.

The villagers were so hospitable that they didn’t finish their lunch until sunset.

To express their gratitude, the villagers toasted Qin Haodong one after another. Luckily, Qin was an incredible drinker, otherwise, he would not have been able to stay sober, let alone go up the mountain to investigate the source of the infection.

In the evening, he asked Su Hui to stay in the tent and left the government of Wangshan Village alone. He found a deserted place and flew directly to Savage Mountain on his flying sword.

It was a big mountain and could almost be taken as a small mountain range. Qin Haodong flew on his flying sword for half an hour before circling the entire mountain.

After his exploration, he arrived at Black Dragon Cave based on what Li Laogen had told him.

Black Dragon Cave was spacious. It was at least 10 meters tall and seven or eight meters wide. It was very deep.

Qin Haodong walked around and found that the cave was empty, but there was a thick layer of bat guano on the ground. It seemed that there were indeed a lot of bats here, but they had gone out to hunt for food at night and had not come back yet.

It was a waste of time to wait there, so he began to wander around the mountains, detecting bats with his Spirit and picking up valuable herbs.

He was very familiar with the zombie virus by now. With his Spirit, he could immediately spot the bat carrying this kind of virus. Unfortunately, he saw thousands of bats here, but none of them carried the virus.

In a small village in Myanmar, Casiano appeared in front of Dr. Ginns like a ghost.

“Doctor, Qin is back. It took him only half an hour to cure all the villagers who were infected with the virus.”

Dr. Ginns was slightly shocked. “Are you sure he cured all the patients in half an hour? How did he do it?”

Casiano explained, “He invented a Chinese medicine called the Sanbao Blood-Cleansing Pill. Those in the first stage of infection would recover within half an hour after taking the pill.”

Dr. Ginns narrowed his eyes and said, “It took me 10 years to produce a zombie virus. We carried out thousands of experiments in the lab, but the virus could not be killed. I thought there was no cure for it. I didn’t expect that a normal Chinese medicine doctor could eradicate my virus. It’s really unexpected.”

After a pause, he asked again, “Did Qin Haodong leave?”

Casiano said, “No. This guy seemed to have discovered something, so he stayed in Wangshan Village. He said that he wouldn’t leave until he found the source of infection.”

Dr. Ginns said gloomily, “He is really annoying. No wonder the higher-ups regarded him as a big threat.”

Casiano asked, “Doctor, do you want me to kill him?”

“You’re no match for him,” Dr. Ginns shook his head and spoke. “A small team sent by the organization to Hmong Village was killed by him. Do you think you can defeat him?”

Casiano’s face clouded over, and then he asked, “Then what should we do? I can’t just watch the plan fail without doing anything.”

Dr. Ginns said, “The virus experiment is just a small, organized operation. It’s not a big deal, so it doesn’t matter if we fail. But if we can get rid of Qin Haodong, we will be heroes.”

Casiano asked, “But, Doctor, didn’t you just say that this guy is very powerful and is difficult to deal with?”

Dr. Ginns let out a sinister laugh. Pointing at his own head, he said, “Whether a person is powerful or not, the key lies in his brain. If one only has physical strength and no brains, he will be doomed to fail.”

Casiano asked, “Doctor, what should we do then?”

Dr. Ginns said, “Just do as I say...”

The small square in front of Wangshan Village seemed deserted after the group of experts left. Su Hui stayed in a huge tent by herself.

It was getting dark, and the moon hung high in the sky. Qin Haodong hadn’t come back yet. Su Hui got bored and was about to go to sleep.

Just then, a figure got into the tent like a ghost.

Su Hui was shocked at the sight of the man. Just as she was about to cry out, the man came over like a gust of wind. He raised his hand and hit her neck his hand. Su Hui immediately fainted on the bed.

The man chuckled, carried Su Hui out of the tent, and disappeared into the night in the blink of an eye.
