The Devil's Sweetheart

There was pin-drop silence in the car except for the occasional leaves rustling due to the car window left opened.

"Do you suspect Max?" asked Devin breaking the silence. "Or anyone else for that matter."

"Max is a brain-dead dippy. As for others, Heather had clashes with his mistress but I have been keeping eye on her ever since the accident happened. His third wife appeared in his life in the later years. So, both don't know each other."

"Even if they haven't met, we gotta do a background check on her, France. I will try asking mom if I can get any information about aunt's friends also." Added Devin. "Did you file a police complaint after the accident?"

"No. Arnold was secretly investigating the case and now Kurt has taken up the charge," Francis said.

"I will talk with him then."

"Keep her safe, Devin. I am scared. Leena is facing threats from two anonymous people. If something happens to her again...I can't_" Francis's breath tightened at the thought itself.

"Don't worry, France. I will not let anything happen to her." Devin reassured. Even the most intelligent are bound to make mistakes at some point in time. He is waiting for it to happen. "Have a safe trip, France. I have to go. If that monster gets up in the middle, I am dead meat."

"Are you calling my baby a monst_"

Devin and Nick have gone already. Francis sped the car with a heavy heart.

The morning sun rays passed through the see-through curtains and fell on the girl's side face radiating her beauty. Leena was in la-la land where Devin was flying in the air like a spider man holding her in his arms. He then took her to the universe and just as he knelt on his one knee to propose her in the presence of stars, Leena jerked awake with a start when she felt a spank on her back followed by a voice.

"Get up lazy bum. Are you building castles in your dream?"

"Ahhh...My dream...It's weekend, Devin..." Leena cried opening her eyes. When her gaze landed on Devin, her throat ran dry at the sight and she even forgot the dream. Shirtless, sweatpants lying low at his hips, sweat trickling down from his face due to an intense workout. can this day get any better? Is he seducing me early in the morning?

"I know I am handsome but you should stop ogling at my body. It's creepy."

"I am creepy!" Exclaimed Leena. "Says one who spanks my butt every chance he gets."

"Butts are made for spanking." Winking at her Devin was about to enter the bathroom, a pillow hit his back. Fuming, he turned around and threw the pillow back towards her. "I will take my revenge in the bed one day." With that, he entered the bathroom.

"I will take my revenge." Leena mimicked him grabbing her mobile. Her jaw dropped to the floor seeing the missed calls from Andrew. Twenty missed calls in an hour? He has beaten Devin's record. She called back immediately and it's not even ringed fully, the call got lifted. Is he waiting for my call? "What's up Andrew Dawson?"

"Section 1001 of title 18 of United States Code, you are accused of being guilty of lying."

"What?" Leena's mouth opened and closed like a starfish. "My dear rented brother, I know that you are a lawyer but I don't understand lawyers' language."

" If I am your brother, then why didn't you inform me about your marriage? If not for Wilbur, I wouldn't have known."

Guilt tripped on Leena. Damn! I forgot to inform him. How to cover up my mistake now. "Actually, brother...It's just a civil marriage. I thought of directly coming to your home and invite you to the wedding ceremony."

"Good then. Come to my home today," Drew said.

"But it's not my_"

"No buts." Drew cut her off. "You are coming to my home today."

"Be on the line. Let me ask Devin." Leena jumped from the bed and knocked on the bathroom door. When she didn't get any reply, she knocked on the door again. "Are you singing in the shower?"

"I don't sing. I Only perform."

"Dirty fellow." Screamed Leena. "You are making me have filthy thoughts in the morning."

"Are you wet then?"

Leena pursed her lips kicking the door. "Listen up first, idiot. Andrew called me. Can we go to his home today?"

"What do I get in return if I take you there?" The door opened and his warmth wafted into her nose shutting down her senses to the outside world.

"What do you want?" Leena questioned back draping her arms around his neck. Half-naked, his taut muscles ignited her cravings and she forgot everything.

"I want..." His arm moved down slowly towards the south rubbing her inner thighs. "Your dew flaps on my lips again."

Holding his hand before he escalates it further, Leena tiptoed whispering into his ears.."Not until I have my share."

"You are turning into a naughty girl," Devin muttered holding her body intact with him.

"I heard that wilder your naughty thoughts are, the hotter sex will be."

Devin coughed listening to her straightforward reply. It's time I should speed up things. "Tell Andrew that we will come together," Devin said gazing at the mobile in amusement. Now she will realize the mistake.

"Okay then_"

It hit her brain now. "Andrew is still on the call." Leena stared at her mobile open-mouthed in astonishment. Oh my God! I corrupted my good image. With pleading eyes, Leena looked at Devin for help.

"Deal with it." Winking at her, he strolled out.

"Andrew," Clutching her mobile, Leena muttered in embarrassment. "I_it's not what you_"

"Aha! Done with the flirting? I never knew you had such a wild side in you." Andrew exclaimed. "My ears are bleeding."

"You should have cut the call then," Leena screamed ending the call. Pulling her hair in frustration, she went inside to get ready.

Leena gave Carrot's responsibility to Nick and stepped into the car. Until they reached the destination, Leena ate Devin's brain with stupid questions. "Devin...Were my talks dirty? what would Andrew think of me?

"What else. A pervert."

"A pervert." She sighed. "I should have muted the call at least."

Opening the car door, Devin held her hand. "Don't worry, if he bullies you, I will back you up."

"Of course, you should. It was started by you." Not before they reached the entrance of the house a woman appeared squealing. "Congratulations on your marriage, Devin." She turned to Leena and clapped her hands. "You must be Leena right?"

"You are right, Lily." Wrapping his arms around Leena's waist, he said. "My sweetheart."

"You have turned into a possessive husband, already." Lily grinned and turned to Leena. "I am Andrew's mom. You can call me Lily."

"Hello, Aunty. I am Leena."

Pinching her cheeks, she squealed in joy." From the day Andrew came back from Austin's marriage, there is not a day he doesn't talk about you. I regret not having a cute daughter like you."

"You can still try if your husband is in service," Devin scorned.

Leena stomped on his feet making him jump and shriek in pain."Don't mind him, aunty. Sometimes, his tongue is out of control."

"I am used to these brats, dear." Lily laughed guiding them into the house.

"Where is Drew?" asked Devin when he didn't find him in the room.

"He is in his room with Kurt," Lily said and gazed upstairs. "Andy! Stop playing those stupid video games and come down. Devin has come."

Oh my! Mr. Swedish butler is also here? Leena's lips twitched in annoyance.

Andrew came running when he heard the voices. "Finally you got the time for others also, Miss Jurassic?"

"At least I made time. You might not even bother us if that someone appears in front of you." Leena retorted.

"Who is that someone?" Curiously, Lily and Drew asked.

"No one. Leena is just making fun. Where is Kurt?" Devin diverted the topic. She is still thinking that something is going on between Drew and Jasper?

"He is in my room," Drew said.

"You guys can go and talk in Andy's room until Leo comes," Lily said. "I will have a chat with Leena meanwhile."

Leena got eased in Lily's presence. Just like Evelyn, she is also very sweet. She talked about all the six friends' childhood until the marriage issue popped up.

"When will my Andy get married? Wilbur, Austin, and now Devin is also married. Andy doesn't even have a girlfriend until now."

Leena felt sad for Lily. Why will Andrew have a girlfriend when he has Jasper in his heart?

"Does he likes anyone?" Leena asked testing the waters. She wants to know if Lily knows about Andrew and Jasper's relationship.

"He told me that he likes someone but he can't be with that person because it's complicated."

'Poor Drew. His heart is longing for that stupid Jasper. Can't he give a proper answer at least except fooling around with him? Why must he torture the poor guy.'

"Did he tell you about the person, Leena dear? You must be close to him right?" Lily asked in sorrow. "I don't mind even if he likes men. I fully support my son."

Leena was muddle-headed now. She was not sure if she should tell and make things more complicated or not but in the end, she chose to keep quiet. "Aunty_I know the person but it's good that you know from Andrew itself."

"You know it?" Lily hesitantly asked. "Perhaps I_s it, Jasper?"

Watching Leena's surprised expression, she got the confirmation.
