The Devil's Sweetheart

Terror filled in Casey as she saw Leena standing in front of her. After that accident, there were no traces of her and she assumed Leena has died in that accident until she saw her on the television two years back. From then on, she was gripping her life tightly because she was scared that Leena would come for her life. But Casey did not meet Leena until today.

Casey never thought that the one day trip to New York with her friend would turn out to be a catastrophe. She calmed herself and took a deep breath before she spoke up. " Whatever happened five years back was a misunderstanding, Leena,"

"Misund_"

"The mistake you and your boyfriend did has put a life in danger and you are calling if a misunderstanding?" It was Reese who spoke up. When she was in the bathroom, she heard a familiar voice from the past and immediately finished her job, and arrived here scared that Leena would be in danger again. " Do you know the pain she endured?" Reese barked at the top of her lungs. She wanted to kill the two-faced woman with her own hands for making Leena's life living hell.

"It's not my mistake that she slipped and fell over the cliff. I did not push her." Casey breathed in for air holding the hem of her dress tightly for strength. "She is the one to be blamed for not_"

" Not a word from your mouth, bi**h." Reese slapped her when her saturation point has reached for this woman. How dare this two-faced shrewd cow accuse my Leena.

Casey held her cheek in anguish. Tears rolled down her cheeks. She was alone and bullied by these two women. People who were going in and out of the washroom were looking at Casey with sympathy but none tried to approach her.

Leena scoffed at Casey's crocodile tears. Not her Mistake? It was true that she slipped on her own, but she fell on a sheer rock with minor injuries on that night. Despite it was slippery due to heavy rain, Leena tried to climb up but even before she reached the top, she was brutally pushed down by two men.

That's when Leena heard a bone-chilling voice that she wanted Leena to be crippled for a lifetime.

"Look, Leena_"

Leena cut her off in the middle. "Don't be delighted that I have not taken my revenge on you and your boyfriend. I don't want to dirty my hands laying a finger on both of you. I am waiting for the karma. You will eventually suffer tenfold pain that you both have given me."

Leena grabbed Reese's hand and got out of the room. Until they reached the parking lot, both didnot speak.

"You should make her life hell, Leena," Reese shouted when they were being alone.

"I don't want any more mess up dramas in my life, Reese," Leena said. "Casey and Ethan are thorns in my life which I am desperately trying to avoid."

"Did you tell Devin about Ethan?" Reese asked in a soft voice.

" Not yet. I_I am_"

"I know you are not comfortable. But take it slow and don't keep him in dark. He has to know one day. First, at least tell him that you were in a relationship with_"

"I was not in a relationship with him." Leena contended. She hates that man to the core.

"Yes, yes. My bad that I forgot that part." Reese quickly explained. Leena bursts out into a fit of anger whenever Reese and Jane call Leena with the name 'Ethan's ex' to tease her. Leena always comes up with an excuse that she dated him for only two months. One month or two months, it was still considered as dating in the eyes of Reese and Jane.

"Let's go home." Leena rebuked speeding up the car. She was missing her babylicious already. It's time to break the silence.

"Did you wash properly before coming out of the bathroom?" Leena brought a topic to lighten the atmosphere. The anger she had curbed when Devin's face popped up in her mind

"Do you want to smell it?" Reese winked.

"Dirty girl." She muttered.

Even after Leena and Reese left, Casey stood in the bathroom alone, her heart started pounding at an accelerated rate even now. She wiped her tears and made a call to her friend. She gave an excuse and immediately returned to Seattle.

The moment she reached home, she rummaged the cabinets in her bedroom until she found a book. She turned pages after pages and found a particular person's number which she has penned five years back. Taking a deep breath, she messaged the number.

[Nameless woman: I have met Leena today]

[Nameless woman: Can you please help me. I might be in danger]

Casey waited for a while and when she didnot receive any reply, she called up but the number was not reachable just like five years back.

"Insolent woman. Who are you? You made my life living hell." She threw the mobile in anger. It hurled over and hit the wall with a huge effect. She made a mistake accepting that nameless woman's offer without knowing her identity.

After she broke up with Ethan and left to pursue her career, she understood his significance.

Casey was missing him badly and decided to come back for him and she did.

But Ethan has changed completely. He was in love with another woman by the time she was back. She tried to get him back into her life by all means but the man didn't bend.

At the same time, an opportunity came knocking at the door. A nameless woman whom she has not seen has offered a pact that she would help her in bringing Ethan back into her life. But the price she asked for was huge. She wants Leena in exchange.

She didn't know who the woman was and what animosity she held towards Leena but Casey was drowning in Ethan's love and she accepted the offer to teach Leena a lesson. Everything was perfectly planned.

But she did not expect that Leena would slip and fell from that cliff. Scared that she would get caught, she immediately ran away from that place without aiding Leena when she desperately needed a helping hand at that moment.

The next morning Casey did not hear any news and assumed Leena died.. But the thought of taking someone's life has tormented her every day.
