The Devil's Sweetheart

Ethan was already in terrible spirits when the photos and videos of Devin and Leena were leaked by the media which has constantly inflamed him.

Now, the revelation that Devin is the face behind the Wang industry's success was making his body go violent and he is trying to keep his emotions in check to hold back the screams of frustration that was ready to burst out. He couldn't digest this thought at any cost. He has snatched everything from his life and now Leena also.

Devin's smile was malicious, a tricky flicker passed over his face and it was hard to decipher what he was thinking of the moment. He signaled William to take his leave since it's a one-on-one meeting and business is not his sole purpose for today. He doesn't want outsiders to know about it. William excused himself and walked out of the room leaving them alone.

Devin also has a hunch that the moment Ethan saw him, he would have forgotten about the business if he had seen their photos on the internet. He has been keeping an eye on Ethan from the day he got to know about the relationship Leena shared with him. He doesn't know what happened in the past until Leena tells but what bothered him was, Ethan is still not over his sweetheart and it was ringing warning bells in his head. He is here to settle some accounts

"Sit down, Mr. Davies. You don't need to be so polite. After all, we have known each other for quite a long time. Perhaps, former times." His voice was laced with travesty when he spoke.

"Unfortunately, I don't share the same sentiments as you, Mr. Wang." Ethan seethed. He would never accept him as his cousin even if the gods descend to the earth.

"You should rethink the idea." He simply stated occasionally gazing at his phone for notifications from Leena and his mood dampened when she did not reply.

"Pluton project was your doing?" Ethan asked. Now it is making sense why the Wang family has butted in. Earlier it was Wilbur and now he started. Leena might have told about their relationship. How much did she tell? Did they become close to each other? He has many questions but no one would tell the answers.

"You still don't have strong connections, Mr. Davies. Just one hour I needed to pull out your strings."

"What are you trying to infer?" Ethan's line of mouth tightened a fraction more watching Devin's composed demeanor and it always irks him. One of the main reasons, he hates Devin more is his calmness. He always finds calmness in the chaos which is exactly opposite to Ethan. They would end up in fights in the school.

"You know what I am inferring" A smile crept over his face.

"Are you jealous that I would take away Leena from you?" He chuckled amused by the thought that finally, Devin has got something to fear about.

"Correction. I am not jealous. I am a territorial man." Devin rectified. "Jealous is when you want something that's not yours. I am simply protecting what's mine."

"Does she know what sort of person you are? You are a_"

"You are worse than a man in my eyes." He spat out.

Ethan's breath grew thin and ragged. These were the words he last heard from someone he loved dearly and it haunted him for year's and now hearing the same words from his enemy, he wanted to punch him. "Watch what you speak, Devin!"

"The day you raised a hand on her, you are no longer a man." There was a pain in his voice when he spoke. Twice she shared her past with him and both times, it was a bitter memory. If not she let her guards down on that drunken night, he wouldn't have known that she was abused. He didn't know who it was before, now everything is vivid.

How did he know? Did Leena tell everything to him already? Ethan snickered looking at his hands.

"Listen." Ethan took a deep breath before he continued. "It was a misun_"

"I don't want to hear your explanations. I am here to give a crisp warning." Devin continued. "I am not going to stay silent if you lay a finger on her. Don't unleash the beast within me. Perhaps you have always seen my calmness. Try unleashing the beast in me. I lose control this time, you cannot withstand the storm."

Devin's every word left Ethan in shambles. His sole purpose was to warn Ethan today that he would not give Leena to him and he is there to protect her.

Although Ethan was in a rage, he did not want to lose his fight against him. He couldn't control his anger and in a frenzy, he spoke up. "What about you? What if you try to hurt her? What if the one you loved during your childhood comes back? Do you still love her the same?"

Devin was about to leave but halted his footsteps hearing the words. Loved another one? Why is everybody thinking in the same way? Even Wilbur has stated that he confessed something in a drunken state. But he can't remember anything like that. Or did I forget an important fragment in my life? But right now he doesn't want to dwell on it since he has Leena and hurting her was the last thing he wants.

"I have never loved anyone. My present and future are only her." He stated without any expressions before walking out.

Ethan scoffed at the retiring figure. Even he would have thought that Devin has not loved anyone. He has been seeing him for a long time but there was no scandal or he was not in a relationship. But when he saw a love letter he has written for someone when they were in school, he had a little skepticism from then.

It was not intentional but he stumbled upon them on that day.. But there was no mention of the name in the letters.
