Chapter 76: Bandits

Chapter 76: Bandits

Just as they turned into the gap in the trees, that had a small path, they were surrounded by 8 men that were all armed with weapons.

The small path was a dead end, and the man pretending to be a merchant had led them into the trap, then ran away.

Damian felt that there was something off about the man, and was once again annoyed by Milo's careless and ignorant nature to agree without being careful.

He was also ticked off at the driver who agreed without thought, even though he was merely meant to be an escort and shouldn't have even gotten involved.

"Milo you idiot, get ready for battle" scolded Damian as he jumped off the carriage, prepared to face the opponents.

They all had blades of sorts and were all wearing rough clothing with some armour as they eyed up the beast body that belonged to Milo and Damian.

"Look boss, they are Akegria Academy students. If they were able to defeat such a large strong beast, they will be able to beat us as well" stated one of the men to the man that seemed to be the strongest and the leader.

"Look at them, they are just kids and probably haven't even begun training yet. There is no need to worry, they would never be able to defeat a beast like that in a million years and must have found or bought the body" assumed the leader, underestimating Damian and Milo based on their size, age and appearance.

[Utsusu activate the Maxwell Fire Soul Spirit] communicated Damian.

From what Damian could sense from their auras, they were all rank 1 cultivators while the leader was a rank 2 cultivator.

However, despite him being stronger than them, they were much older, had weapons and would be much more experienced.

"Milo be careful, we should aim to take out the weaker rank 1 cultivators, then take down the rank 2 leader together" stated Damian to Milo who had activated the boar beast bloodline transformation as his body began to change shape slightly to match that of the boar beast.

"Kill them all and leave no evidence" ordered the leader as his subordinates charged towards Damian, Milo and the driver.

instantly the driver feared for his life, and felt helpless, as he was surrounded by cultivators.

However, the two young boys before him were calm and prepared for battle, despite being charged at by 7 men, that were all much larger than them and armed.

Damian circulated Fire Energy all around his body and activated the Flame Reinforcement Skill as his body was coated in a thin layer of red fire energy that had a golden tint.

[These lowly bandits want to kill me, my friend and an innocent man. For this, they don't deserve my mercy or for me to hold back] stated Damian to himself angrily.

"Milo make sure to protect our driver and the beast that is leading the carriage" instructed Damian, who was most of the time in the leadership position for the duo, as he burst off his feet towards the closest bandit.

Damian was yet to have a life or death battle against a human, but he felt the same when battling against the bandits as he felt when facing the boar beast.

Both the bandits and the boar beast didn't care about casualties and only cared for their own gain, and both needed to be put down.

With great speed and explosive power, that the Flame Reinforcement provided, Damian launched a kick to the side of the bandit closest to him that was aiming to stab with a dagger.

The kick broke the man's ribs and launched him crashing into a tree.

Instantly everyone there was shocked, apart from Milo, as the bandits began reevaluating their decision to attack Akegria Academy students that clearly had Soul Spirits.

Meanwhile, Milo had also pierced two holes into one of the bandits, with his tusks, and flung him crashing into another tree.

Both Milo and Damian were infuriated by the bandits who wanted to kill them and the innocent driver, and began attacking the bandits mercilessly and severely damaging all of them with their attacks.

Instead of feeling bad about what they were doing, they felt good that they were able to protect themselves and hurt those that wanted to kill them and steal their belongings.

Before the bandit leader knew it, his 7 subordinates, that were all of rank 1, were defeated and injured by the two young boys from Akegria Academy.

"You bastards. Die" he roared angrily, as he lost his subordinates that he needed to grow his power.

He charged towards them and unleashed a skill that Damian was yet to come across and seemed powerful.

Eagle Claw Slash

It was an F:1 ranked skill and would unleash a small blade of energy from each finger as the user slashed the opponents, similar to the way an eagle would.

Aiming the attack at Damian, it was narrowly dodged and blocked by Damian, who was instead slashed on his arms.

The slashes were quite deep as his arms begun bleeding large amounts of blood, however, Damian was yet to feel any pain with the adrenaline rush and circulating energy, as he countered with a skill of his own.

Fire Fist

Streaming most of the energy he had left in his body into his right fist, Damian launched his attack into the open central area of the bandit leader's body.

However, instead of attacking the bandit leader's stomach, which he would have done against a normal opponent, Damian wanted him to feel pain and live the rest of his life regretting this moment, and launched the Fire Fist into his groin area.

Damian felt something be crushed as his attack landed, and the bandit leader let out a high pitched squeal as he instantaneously lost consciousness from the shock and pain.

"So who are the bastards that are going to die today" mocked Milo as he kicked the bandit leader's unconscious body.

Milo was even angrier than Damian for being tricked and also wanted to find the merchant that was the one that led them into the trap.

"We don't have time and need to quickly sell this beast body and get back to the academy. I also need to recover my wounds" stated Damian, believing that looking for the merchant would be a waste of time.

"Okay let's go then" accepted Milo as they all got onto the carriage and prepared to leave as though nothing had happened.

"What about the bandits. Are we just going to leave them here" asked the driver.

"Yeah, don't worry about them, and this event shouldn't be spoken about" stated Damian with an intimidating glare as they got back onto the path towards the central city.
