Chapter 63: Heading Out

Chapter 63: Heading Out

Damian and Milo both couldn't wait for the morning and as soon as the sun began to rise, so did they.

Both were excited for their own reasons.

Damian was excited to complete his first mission and travel independent of his mother and also battle against a beast and Milo also excited to go on a mission but was more excited and curious to find out what Damian's solution was to his problem and whether it would truly be successful.

Waking up they both scrambled to get ready and Damian opened his door to find an excited Milo already stood there.

"Are we going yet?" asked Milo eagerly.

"After we get something to eat" answered Damian, feeling hungry.

The academy meals weren't very large, and for a growing and active youth, it wasn't much.

Although he was cultivating and had Internal Energy that could sustain his body, Damian hadn't reached a cultivation level that he could go without food and sleep and he still needed to eat.

Milo dragging Damian and continuously urging him to hurry up, took him to the academy canteen, that had luckily just opened, and they ate an average breakfast.

It provided the bare minimum and encouraged academy students that were relying on canteen meals to earn and spend more contribution points for more nutritious and tasty meals.

Milo wolfed down his tray rapidly, before Damian had managed to eat hardly anything.

"Can we go now?" asked Milo.

"Let me eat idiot" scolded Damian as he ate his meal slowly to annoy Milo.

"At least tell me what the mission is and what is your solution to my problem" pouted Milo.

Damian merely shrugged and ignored him as he continued eating slowly.

Milo continued to repeatedly ask him questions that were all ignored by Damian as he grew more and more annoyed.

After Damian finished his meal he stood up and headed towards the exit of the western region of the Outer Academy.

"Wait for me" called out Milo as he waddled after him.

The two speedily walked towards the exit and Damian could no longer suppress his excitement.

"Milo before we go, do you mind if we visit my mother," asked Damian.

"Yeah sure, I would like to greet her as well" accepted Milo who had come to like Damian's mother after the kind way that she treated and fed him.

After showing their permission to leave the academy to the guards they were allowed to leave and had 8 hours to return.

If they took longer than 8 hours to return to the academy, it would be taken away from the few hours they were allowed to leave the academy each week, and after a day passed, they would be put down as missing.

If they returned after being put down as missing without a valid reason, there were severe consequences.

It took them half an hour to reach the Green House Pill House that his mother was working and staying at.

Damian was instantly recognised and his face was taught to the guards as somebody that was allowed to enter the Green House Pill House along with whoever he was with.

"Young master Damian, head straight inside and you will find your mother in the towards the back of the building where her residence is situated" stated the guards respectfully as soon as they saw Damian, allowing him and Milo to enter.

[It seems I really did underestimate my mother's capabilities and it seems she has already reached a high position] thought Damian to himself as he thanked the guards and entered with Milo.

"Your mother is awesome" whispered Milo as he looked around at the large Pill House that was very luxurious, wealthy and heavily guarded.

Damian was happy for his mother and after walking through the large Pill House, with the help of directions from workers that recognised him, they finally found the residence that they remembered as Sarah's.

Damian knocked on the door lightly, not wanting to disrupt her if she was in the middle of pill making.

After knocking a few more times to no avail, Damian decided to leave and return another time when his mother was available.

But before he left him and Milo were suddenly approached by an old man.

"You must be Damian," said the man that recognised the unique white hair and yellow eyes that Damian had.

"Yes he is Damian, but who are you old man" answered Milo abruptly.

"Respect your elders" scolded Damian as he struck Milo's head.

Damian after coming across the weird librarian that supposedly had the power and authority to represent the principle, made sure never to underestimate anybody based on their appearance.

"I am Damian. May I ask who you are" asked Damian respectfully.

The old man chuckled to himself at the youths' behaviour and had a frail yet overbearing demeanour.

"I am your mother's master and she is currently learning a new recipe for a valuable pill" answered the man.

His answer shocked both Milo and Damian, but Damian was more expectant of it and was glad that he had kept his respect with him, not wanting to ruin his mother's opportunity.

"You are humble, respectful and talented. Well, it that to be expected from my disciple's son" observed the old man.

"I appreciate your kind words and hope you could be so kind as to pass my greetings to my mother as it may be a while before I have the chance to come back here" requested Damian respectfully.

Damian despite the way he was treated in the Maxwell Family, had seen and had been taught the right etiquette to have while talking to those that were above him, which were most of the people in the Maxwell Family.

"Yes, I will pass on your message for you. Be safe" accepted the old man before cutting off their conversation short and leaving.

Damian bowed and thanked him respectfully, pulling the uncaring Milo with him, then left with Milo.

The old man had an arrogant air around him and had annoyed Milo and Damian with his attitude, but neither of them dared to speak and knew their place.

"You need to watch who you talk to in such a disrespectful manner" advised Damian after they left.

"I know, I know, I am sorry" admitted Milo as they headed towards the travel centre to get a carriage.
