The Bodyguard System

"You should know that I am a bodyguard. I am your bodyguard at the moment, and my duty as a bodyguard is to ensure your safety. And for that reason, believe it or not, I will not allow you to go through anything that is a danger to your life.

So of course, I'm not going to let you go through this experiment, that might end up claiming your life. With you out of the picture, I will no longer be considered as a bodyguard." Jaden stated seriously.

John looked at Jaden, before finally bursting into laughter. He patted Jaden's shoulder, as he said, "Don't worry. I understand what you are trying to imply man. Don't worry. After I succeed, I will help you with dealing with whoever it is that you want to deal with."

Immediately after saying those words, he left, going to join Oliver and the others. Jaden on the other hand could only look at him speechlessly as he left. It seemed that this guy thought that he was simply saying those words because he cared.

Well, it was true that he cared, but he was serious about not allowing John to go through the experiment. Yes, this was an experiment, not a transformation. With such a small success rate, it was clear that the more people were tested, the higher the chances of fixing the errors were.

But still, Jaden was not having the intention of allowing anything like this to happen. They could go ahead and use all the other soldiers, but it was impossible for them to use John. John was currently under his protection, and that was going to be so, until the end of the 3 months.

The next flight was 30 minutes later. And, after more than an hour, they finally arrived in the central province.

The central province was completely different from the Southern province. The entire central province only had five cities, and all of them were first tier cities.

They included Mayo, Zuta, Abol, Mosa and finally Ruta. Abol was the capital city, and it was located between the other four cities.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

The arrangement of the five cities was in such a way that it formed something like 4 squares, but the edges of each square was broken, to form another square in the middle. The square in the middle was bigger than the other four squares.

In simple terms, the capital city bordered all the four cities surrounding it. That was the reason why it was the most developed city within this nation. And due to its positioning, most of the activities within this nation were centered to this city.

Currently, Jaden and the Eagle team had all landed in Zuta city. This city was located in the northeastern side of the capital city.

The locations of the other cities was such that, Ruta was located in the northwestern side, with Mayo in the southwestern part, and finally, Mosa in the Southeastern part.

"The facility that is going to be in charge of converting us into mutants is located in this city. As for the exact position, even we ourselves don't know. We should be taken there soon." John said as he stood next to Jaden.

Currently, they were waiting for a car that was going to take them to a hotel. They had arrived at the airport, took a taxi that took them out of the airport, and brought them to a restaurant. They rested here as they waited for the car to pick them up.

Currently, Jaden and John were standing on the balcony, looking towards the garden that was located just behind the restaurant. It was quite beautiful, which was something not to be expected to be seen within such a big city.

In most cases, considering just how deep they had already gotten into this city, buildings were supposed to be the most dominant things. But somehow, that was not the case here.

Jaden did not say anything in response, but John did not mind at all. All this while, he understood that Jaden was a person with few words. So, he did not say anything, and just continued standing there, while looking towards the garden that was full of different varieties of plants.

"Hey, the car is here. We should get going." Suddenly, Mouse's voice reached the two of them. When they looked over, they saw that Mouse and the others had already finished eating, and were preparing themselves to leave.

Jaden and John immediately followed the others, and found that several cars were already waiting for them outside. Well, this was obviously more than a car.

Three of them got into each car, and the number of cars that had been sent over was able to accommodate all the members of the Eagle team, including Jaden.

Within the car, John was talking incessantly with another member of the Eagle team. The two of them were talking much about the time that they had met, and the training that they had experienced in order to become members of the special team.

It was as If they were reliving the memories of the past, as they understood that the moment that they were taken to that facility, it might be the last time to see each other. They might go in, but there was a great possibility that they would never walk out of there alive.

Jaden simply remained silent, not saying a single word. He was still trying to contemplate on the best method to use in order to make sure that John did not undergo something dangerous.

Of course, the best method would to improve the method that was used in order to convert normal humans into being mutants. That way, it was going to be possible for John to be able to undergo the mutation, and come back alive.

But that was not something that he could simply do. In fact, during the past few hours, when he got the chance, he went through the information that had been provided by the AI.

The AI had gathered all the information related to genetics, and due to the mastery ability that Jaden possessed, he was able to master a lot of information during the past few hours. But obviously, it was impossible for him to be able to master all the information in just a short while.

He would need a lot of time, considering that it was a huge chunk of information that was provided by the AI. He wanted to see if he could be proficient enough, to be able to find a way of creating mutants.

But he would have to stall for time, to ensure that John did not undergo the mutation, before he succeeded. But there was no guarantee that he was going to succeed, which would lead to the stalling to not be any helpful.

Another method would obviously to kidnap John, and keep him away from this project for 3 months. Until the 3 months that he was supposed to be a bodyguard ended, he was not going to release John.

Of course, doing something like this was going to cause a commotion. People would obviously suspect that he was a member of the mercenary groups, while others would keep on looking for John and himself, thinking that the two of them had been kidnapped by the mercenaries.

As for those from the Smith and Raven mercenary group, Jaden believed that by now, they should have already informed those four that had come over to save them that he was a mutant.

Even though it was going to be difficult for those four to be able to believe something like that, they would obviously try looking for him, to carry out the test.

And if they found out that he was a mutant, and then realized that he had disappeared with John, they would immediately link him up with the mutants from the mercenaries side.

Well, for the time being, as long as they could not find him, there would not be any problem. But if he appeared later on, it was clear that he would be hunted down, in order to be taken down just like the other mutants from the mercenaries side.

And if something like that really happened, then it would be difficult for Jaden to become a bodyguard anymore, unless he changed his identity. But was it that easy to be able to change his identity, especially considering that mutants were present?

Just as he was deep in thought, the car that they were in finally arrived at their destination. The destination was a five-star hotel. And when compared to the five-star hotels that Jaden had seen in Faru city, it was on a completely different level.

Each one of them was given the keys to a suite that had already been booked for them. That was where they were going to stay for the time being, until the time for them to go to the facility arrived.

The moment that he got into his suite, Jaden immediately instructed the AI to keep watch over John. That was to ensure that John would not leave without his notice.

Additionally, that was just a safety measure. Just in case John was in danger, Jaden would be notified, and he would take action and save John.

As for himself, he decided to focus on researching the information about genetics. But he had just begun studying when suddenly, a prompt from the system surprised him.
