Chapter 439 - 439 "Are You… Perhaps A Psychopath? Or…"
After arriving at the Villa, Luo Lixi hurriedly walked in, leaving her parents behind and then went straight to her baby room. Her parents took their time slowly and entered the mansion.
Sun Xumei turned to the stairs and said while glancing at the man, "Your mother has told me it's better if I avoid using the stairs from now on."
"Alright then. We will make a room on the first floor as our temporary bedroom." Luo Baiyun said. He turned towards the second floor and saw the door of the baby room getting closed in silence.
…
After entering the room, Luo Lixi walked up to the mirror and brought out the thing which was hanging around her neck. She grabbed the little ruby tightly and fell in deep thought.
'Isn't this thing Ruming gave me in my past life? How did this come here suddenly?' She pondered in puzzlement and then stared at it intensely. 'I need to see him but it's not very easy to see him. After all, he is living in another city…'
Her fingers kept tracing the pattern of the ruby necklace around her neck, her mind completely lost in her own thoughts.
Suddenly she felt sad thinking about Sheng Ruming...
While she was submerged in thoughts, someone opened her room and walked in. Luo Lixi turned around and glanced at her father.
Luo Baiyun stared at Luo Lixi and slowly walked towards her. Then he crouched down and met eye to eye. The man rubbed her little head and murmured, "Why did you leave me behind? Are you sad or your tummy hurts?"
Luo Lixi shook her head and then turned her head away as she tucked the little ruby inside of her dress. Afterwards, she picked up the box which was beside her and handed it to Luo Baiyun.
The man glanced at the lid and then opened it. After looking at the content, he smiled at her.
"Did you bring sweets for me?'' Luo Baiyun asked warmly. He felt really happy at the consideration of Luo Lixi.
Luo Lixi denied and then whispered, "Baba, get someone to check it. I felt a bitter taste when Aunt Wang fed it to me…"
"Wang Yue?" Luo Baiyun asked again as he looked down in the box. His hold tightened as he stood up to leave.
But abruptly, he stopped in his tracks and glanced down in the dark eyes of Luo Lixi. His eyes turned sharp and he crouched down again and grabbed her little face.
Then with a smile, he murmured, "Xixi, your behaviour doesn't match with a baby whose age has yet to cross 2. Something is definitely wrong..." He tilted his head with a frown and examined her.
Luo Lixi was shocked when the man grabbed her little head tightly, refusing to let her go. In the end, she stopped struggling and whispered pitifully.
"Baba, you are thinking too much~" Luo Lixi forced out a smile and replied cutely. Looking at this familiar scene, Luo Baiyun's eyes darkened.
"Are you… perhaps a psychopath? Or…" Luo Baiyun fell in deep thought as he asked mindlessly.
"Ah! What?! Don't you know?! Psychopaths don't have emotions! Do I lack emotions?" Luo Lixi blurted out as she glared at her father.
"Huh?… you know this word?" Luo Baiyun's smile broadened as he rubbed her head.
Luo Lixi's back stiffened as she looked elsewhere and refused to talk. The more she spoke the more she was dragging herself down the pit, 'How come I was so reckless?!' At that moment, she felt like slapping herself.
Luo Baiyun retracted his hand and then stood. With a warm face, he glanced down at the drooping head and whispered, "Recently, you're acting so weird. Not like my cute baby. As if… you are like a different person. Something is fishy. My intuition is telling me..."
Luo Baiyun lifted the box which had the pink dessert and stared at it. Then he closed it tightly and out inside of his pocket. No normal child of two years old would do what she had done. His eyes fell on Luo Lixi as he murmured, "Hey, perhaps, you are a ghost who has possessed my daughter's body? Reply me honestly! Or else… I will bring a priest to teach you a lesson!"
"..." Luo Lixi sighed heavily and stood up on the bed. Then she glanced at her father eye to eye and voiced out her hesitation, "Father, can I trust you?"
"Why can't you? My dear daughter, if you can't trust me then in this world, you won't have another person to trust." Luo Baiyun walked ahead and hugged Luo Lixi tightly.
When the warm feeling wrapped her little body, Luo Lixi felt very relaxed as if she could lean against this man without any worry.
She would now call herself lucky to have her father by her side with whom she can share her things, everything that she couldn't in her past life. His importance in her life had hit her very much in the past, how much she missed him only she knew...
"Father, I… I am reincarnated. Do you know this word?" Luo Lixi hugged the man tightly and whispered with a sad voice. Then, her eyes met with Luo Baiyun's and she whispered with a frown, "Don't take me as a weirdo if you don't believe in this!"
Hearing her voice, Luo Baiyun fell silent. He stared at Luo Lixi's face and then thought of something. He smiled and then rubbed her head.
"I will ask you some questions. If you reply to them correctly, I'll believe in you… Understand?" Luo Baiyun whispered. In return, Luo Lixi nodded her head obediently.
"4+4=?" Luo Baiyun asked curiously.
'Out of all the things in the world… Why are you asking me maths?!' Luo Lixi questioned herself in disbelief.
She squinted her eyes at him but seeing him patiently waiting for her reply with no acknowledgement of her glare made her heave out a helpless sigh.
Either way, if answering these questions would have him believe in her then, she would be delighted to answer~
"8!" Luo Lixi's face brightened up as she replied confidently. Listening to her, his smile deepened. He felt like a teacher taking her test but seeing her answering so confidently made his father-self proud!
"(x+2)+(y-2)=?" The man smirked when he asked.
'Father's question keeps getting weirder… Out of all the things in the world, why math?!' She wondered in confusion.
"Umm… x+y!" Luo Lixi replied after thinking for a while.
"What is your favourite food?" His eyes flashed as he whispered.
"Dumplings!" Luo Lixi answered with a bright smile, "I love the ones Mother makes!"
Luo Lixi was happy he questioned something related to her and not about maths or any other subjects she could care less about.
"Oh? Then, how did I die?"
"In a car accident…" As soon as Luo Lixi realised what she said, she was horrified. With fear, she glanced at Luo Baiyun and stuttered in disbelief, "You! You! Father, you too!"
"Hmm... even though the first three answers were correct, the last one was wrong." Luo Baiyun rubbed Luo Lixi's head. He chuckled and said with excitement, "Didn't think I would find someone to share my inner thoughts! Hahaha!"
Was this the reaction of a normal person after finding out something unusual? But he turned out to be like her instead.
Luo Lixi was dumbstruck by this sudden revelation. If it was her hearing such a thing, she would laugh out loud and shrug off the other playfully.
"..." She was speechless by Luo Baiyun's strange reaction and blurted out. "Father, why are you so happy?"
Luo Baiyun didn't answer. Rather, he clasped the little hands of Luo Lixi together in his palm as he spoke out with shining eyes, "Xixi, Ah, Xixi~ You have also come in the past! It's a God-sent blessing. Now, we will live the life we want! I will do everything I couldn't do for you in our past life!"
Hearing him, the little girl's eyes got teary. She tightened her grasp and asked with hesitation as her nose felt sore, "Really?"
"Of course! My child, this time, I hope you can fulfil all your wishes you couldn't at that time. Also, I will help you to become the most renowned artists in the whole country!"
His excitement rose to another level. Luo Lixi was now baffled by his huge reaction. She even thought if she did anything wrong by letting him know of her huge secret.
But then, she wouldn't be able to know her dad's secret either. Anyway, she was glad she could justify her actions with not much trouble and do the things which were impossible to do by her little self.
"..." She glanced at the way her father pointed heroically and saw the open window and met with the black horizon. Instantly, she fell silent and murmured. "Father, your words are sounding unreliable."
After gazing at the little girl with dissatisfaction, he sighed and then rubbed her head. After staying silent for a long time, he asked with a pained face "Baby, how did you die?"
The words sounded like thunder in Luo Lixi's ears. She moved back and looked at Luo Baiyun in panic. Whenever she remembered the memories of that day and the pain she felt while she was at the door of life and death, Luo Lixi's head would begin to hurt terribly.
She dropped on the bed while clutching her head tightly and curled up. Luo Baiyun was startled as he rushed ahead and asked in worry, "What's wrong?!"
"My head… hurts… Father… " Luo Lixi shuddered in pain as her eyes turned red and got full with tears. The pain got so unbearable that she felt like crushing her own head.
"We are going to see a doctor! Endure a bit!" Luo Baiyun took her from the bed and hurriedly left the room. In the midst of it, her sight darkened and she passed out.
…
"How is it? Is something wrong with her?" Luo Baiyun asked gravely as he stared at the doctor. After examining the little figure on the hospital bed, the doctor shook his head.
"There is nothing wrong with her. The reason for her fainting is unknown…" The doctor pondered for a moment and then said.
Luo Baiyun's expression changed when he glanced at Luo Lixi. He guessed the reason and then said, "I think I know…"
"What is it?" The doctor asked with interest.
"Well… nothing." Luo Baiyun replied curtly.
"..." The doctor.
