Chapter 201: Scroll of Insight
"Wait, really?!" Rin was startled at the suggestion given by Lilith, and so was Erix.
"Is that possible?" Erix was doubtful. "I didn't know Scroll of Insight was that powerful."
"Of course it is," Lilith grinned. "You can either experiment in minor scales with your elements or let the Scroll of Insight decide it for you."
"Alright, I am going to start checking it right away," Erix grinned.
"Let's go!" Rin was also thrilled.
Rin and Erix sat on the Serene Spots and started experimenting first to see if they could glean something.
Lilith's suggestion of using their Scroll of Insight was rather simple. She told them to create an Element by combining two elements using Scroll of Insight.
However, this had a catch because they might succeed or fail, unlike if they simply used a Scroll of Insight like writing [ Death ], [Wind] on them, then they would 100% benefit.
But she didn't tell them that, unlike average people, the duo actually had a 100% chance of succeeding and even having chances to make startling progress even if they attempted her worse suggestion!
…
Rin created Wind and Lightning energy from her Mana before she made them active with her control, turning them into elemental particles.
The wind and lightning particles combined under Rin's control as they started reacting.
In the first half an hour, Rin couldn't make them seamlessly combine to create something new under her control. However, she only took a little time long to produce results.
Sometimes, the combination caused tiny beams of colorful light to generate, while sometimes, it would generate gusty particles crackling with electricity.
Since Rin was purposefully not applying her attribute concept during this, the new elements' colors were also distinct, not influenced by her attribute concept.
Rin continued experimenting to see which side she should choose and was soon lost in the beautiful and marvelous phenomenon she was unfurling.
Storm element and Aerolit element were both possible combinations of Wind and Lightning element, but it was up to Rin to decide which one she felt more comfortable and confident with.
She had to find what her guts wanted! Funnily but factually, purposefully trying to use one's guts/intuition could also take time…or not much time at all. It was an individually fickle thing.
On the other hand, Erix was in a pinch and would likely have to go with Lilith's other suggestion.
Rin could specifically choose her topic of Insight since she knew the results of the Wind and Lightning combination.
However, Erix didn't and couldn't.
He tried to combine Space Matter and Death Stream, but the result was chaotic. He couldn't find and achieve a balance point between them that could allow them to combine into something singular.
For Wind and Lightning, It was easy, but Space and Death had complex points and complex compatibility.
Even Lilith didn't know what could result if the Space element and Death element perfectly combined, but she was sure of one thing.
They could 100% combine into something singular, and that Element had already existed somewhere in the Grand Primal Cosmos.
Lilith was sure of that.
But neither she nor Erix knew the name of that Element. If only they knew its proper name, they could write it down in Scroll of Insight.
Naturally, there was another way.
Erix could find a balance point between Space Matter and Death Stream to combine them into a single new element seamlessly and automatically acquire its knowledge from the Mystic Root.
However, that was easier said than done.
"Damn it," Erix opened his eyes and cursed under his breath. He had been trying all sorts of combinations between Space and Death elements while exerting his Spiritual Mystyci Eye but couldn't find the balance point.
His Spiritual Mystic Eye was as deep as he could into both elements as he tried his ways to combine them, but no results even after two hours.
"I am just wasting my time in this," Erix muttered and took out the Scroll of Insight.
"Are you planning to write the lengthy one?" Rin opened her eyes and asked Erix, her eyes serious.
Erix sighed.
"Given that I have only one month and five days before facing that Royal Order Lion, this seems like a tough nut to crack. But I could try this in the Limitless Plane."
Rin adopted a thoughtful expression and called Lilith.
"Lilith, how much does the length of words we write in Scroll affect its potency?" Rin asked.
Lilith appeared on a boulder near them and thoughtfully tapped her cheeks.
"Generally, it could make a big difference. If someone with average comprehension tries what Erix wants to do, then they won't be able to awaken that Element even with Scroll of Insight's help."
"What?!" Rin and Erix were dumbfounded.
"Naturally, you two are monsters regarding that, so worry not," Lilith chuckled. "The shorter you write on Scroll of Insight, the higher its effect would unleash."
"But You both can still write something longer and would be able to awaken that element," Lilith smiled. "You might even break through a realm directly."
"That much I can guarantee from my observation and assessment of foundational capabilities you two possess," she added with a small grin.
"Wait, so…" Rin's eyes danced with excitement. "If I only write a single word, then won't I progress so much?!"
"You would if you really worked hard on it and gave your all," Lilith laughed.
"Becoming overconfident regarding such things is not our style," Rin grinned as she turned to Erix, who also laughed and nodded.
"She is right. We've gone to underground fighting arenas and martial tournaments, but when we learn new things, new moves, new techniques, we have to act like a child learning first steps and give our all."
"That's one way to start learning," Lilith raised her eyebrows in surprise and nodded.
"That's what my mother used to say," Rin's lips curved into a reminiscent smile, missing her mother and father.
"They must be rocking a mountain somewhere," Erix assuredly laughed as he sensed Rin's thoughts.
"For sure," Rin softly laughed and took a breath. "Alright, I've also decided."
"What's your choice?" Lilith curiously asked.
Erix grinned. "I know what your guts want."
Rin sneakily laughed in return.
"Tell me already, Storm or Aerolit?" Lilith eagerly asked.
