Chapter 693: Chapter 687: Grandpa Returns – Part 2

“Director Lee, Mr. Wood is here again, and he’s brought many roses.” In a massive office teeming with various small plants, a beautiful female secretary spoke with a hint of helplessness.

Kay Lee furrowed her brows, lifted her head, and said, “Tell him that it’s office hours, and besides, I’m married.”

“I did tell him.” The secretary expressed some frustration; she was in no position to turn away a visitor of his stature. Had she had the means, Kay would have dismissed him already and things wouldn’t have stretched on this long, for a whole month in fact.

“All right, I understand. Thank you for bearing with it.” Kay shook her head in resignation. The visitor’s corporation supplied many raw materials to the Virtual World, and the two parties had extensive collaborations in various aspects. Kay was clueless why these incidents of harassment started a month ago when she had never been hassled before.

She was somewhat lost in her thoughts, wondering when Finn Lewis would return. She dared not dwell on this too much because Finn had ventured into the mysterious depths of the universe. All she knew was that it was a vast starry expanse, teeming with darkness and unknown elements, oblivious to everything else about that place.

She had no idea where Finn was or even if he was still alive. Even though Olivia Thatcher had repeatedly assured her that Finn was fine, Kay couldn’t bring herself to ruminate on his situation until he was back.

“Olivia, can you tell me why someone has dared to harass Kay now?” Finn was about to drive into the headquarters of the Virtual World Corporation and asked this question. Logically, Finn had been away for only three months. Although he hadn’t appeared in the media during this period, it wasn’t enough reason for someone to seek trouble with him.

“Based on some information you revealed and their suppositions, they guess that the Hustle Spot got an alien spaceship and stuff like that. They surmise that you might have left Earth. There are even speculations about your possible demise because the Hustle Spot has been relatively quiet. For them, it’s natural for you to be out of the public eye, but given their inability to locate you even with their state assets, it’s like you disappeared into thin air, which is not the usual.” Olivia started to explain.

“I see. So, it’s likely that this person was sent to probe my situation.” Finn responded with an amused smile.

“According to calculations, there is an eighty percent likelihood that it is so. However, he doesn’t realize he’s being used, or perhaps it’s the family behind him that’s interested in your business.” Olivia added.

“Alright, seems like I have to explicitly announce to the outside world that I’m back.” Finn said lightly.

“Hehe, Master, I love watching you bully them.” Olivia commented with a chuckling tone.

Finn rolled his eyes and chose not to reply. Instead, he parked his car right under the main building of the company headquarters. The headquarters of the Virtual World Corporation looked like a massive spherical structure from the outside, but it wasn’t completely spherical. Its shape kept changing with the time of day. The entire structure consisted of 1,365 parts, but this wasn’t apparent from inside the building.

However, if you worked in one of the offices and observed closely, you’d notice the ever-changing scenery outside your window. The entrance to the building boasted a completely tempered special material surface, which almost mirrored the human figure.

In fact, the surfaces were akin to computer monitors, and every part of the surface could be used as a display screen. The headquarters of the Virtual World was maintained by 326 T1000 robots divided into two shifts. However, for these robots, when Finn was not around, Kay was the ultimate authority.

Unless Kay gave orders, they wouldn’t do anything to those causing a disturbance.

“Mr. Wood, I will say it again, I am married. I request that you direct your efforts elsewhere and refrain from disrupting our work environment.” Kay said sternly.

“I know, I know. But as an employee of your esteemed company, I would definitely bear the penalty for my actions and pay them to the finance department. However, Kay, please allow me to invite you to dinner out of pure admiration.” Woodson Wood responded with a laughing tone.

This situation had clearly happened more than once. “If you continue like this, I will call the police.” Kay also expressed helplessness.

“Of course, they will detain me, and I will stay there for a couple of days.” Woodson replied swiftly. In fact, he had done precisely that in the past. According to such situations, the police could only detain him for 48 hours. He never used his influence to get out early but spent the entire duration in custody. However, upon his release, he remained undaunted.

This was what made Kay feel most helpless. If it hadn’t been for this, Kay would have found an excuse to deal with him a long time ago.

Kay was about to say something when the soft music in the lobby abruptly changed to a solemn tone. Subsequently, the ten security guards standing behind her, along with those at the entrance and the surrounding area, sharply snapped to attention.

Each person’s movement was in perfect unison. Even though there weren’t many security guards, due to their large and synchronous movements, the resulting sound instantly grabbed everyone’s attention. Most importantly, these security guards previously merged with the background unnoticed, camouflaged amidst the crowd. However, at this moment, an astonishing aura emanated from them.

As the aura surfaced, all the security guards instantly became the central characters of the lobby. Kay looked slightly startled, and on the other hand, Woodson froze for a moment as well. He suddenly had a bad feeling because during his numerous episodes causing a disturbance here, although he had been escorted out by the security, they had always done so politely.

He had never noticed the commanding presence of the security guards here before.

While he was lost in thought, an abrupt voice echoed through the entire lobby: “How come, in less than three months of my absence, someone dares to harass my wife?”

With the sudden sound, all eyes in the lobby, including those of the employees present, turned towards the entrance. At this moment, the previously closed doors of the lobby parted, and the floor had turned red, resembling a red carpet. Unbeknownst to everyone, fifty security guards had appeared at the entrance, neatly divided into two rows on either side of the doorway.
