Lin Shen of course knew that his eldest sister had it tough and was aware of her affair with Wan Nianbei.

The story itself was quite melodramatic; Wan Nianbei didn't go by that name when he was young – he was then known as Wan Yihao.

During her prime, my eldest sister met the dashing and elegant Wan Yihao.

The two of them were madly in love, and according to my fourth brother, at that time, both of them were so young and reckless, they did not care about anything and their love was so intense it could shock the heavens and move spirits.

However, the Wan Family did not approve of Wan Yihao being with my eldest sister. Lin Shen didn't know the specific reasons, but the Wan Family's stance was firm. They would rather lock up Wan Yihao than allow him to be with my eldest sister.

At that time, my eldest sister, fearless and defiant, went to the Wan Family alone, hoping to sway them and let her be with Wan Yihao.

In the end, for unknown reasons, after visiting the Wan Family, she gave up.

This was incomprehensible to Lin Shen; knowing his sister's temperament, she wouldn't easily abandon a goal, not even if faced with the threat of swords and axes.

But that time, she gave up. Even though Wan Yihao was willing to sever ties with his family and elope with my eldest sister, she still came back.

The Lin brothers all thought that maybe the Wan Family had threatened my eldest sister, which could be why she had no choice but to give up – they all felt deeply indebted to her.

However, she said that the Wan Family hadn't threatened her at all, and it was her own choice not to be with Wan Yihao anymore.

Latterly, there were occasional updates about Wan Yihao. He changed his name to Wan Nianbei and seemed to have remained unmarried. Even in his forties, he lived a solitary life.

My eldest sister, too, never found anyone else. She's still single, dedicating her life to managing the Lin Family's business affairs.

Lin Shen naturally didn't have a good impression of the Wan Family, but he had no particular dislike for Wan Nianbei as a person.

This time, my eldest sister's trip to Sea Corn Base coincidentally led her to meet Wan Nianbei – one could say it was fate.

If Wan Nianbei really hasn't moved on from my eldest sister after all these years, Lin Shen personally felt she should give it another try, give him a chance, and herself one as well.

"What does Wan Nianbei mean?" Lin Shen pondered and asked.

"Zhao Ze doesn't know either. He only knows that my eldest sister met Wan Nianbei at Sea Corn Base. Wan Nianbei wanted to have a serious talk with her, but she was unwilling to see him," Lei said after thinking it over. "Mr. Lin Shen, when it comes to matters of the heart, it's better not to interfere unless you're the person involved. Otherwise, things might backfire."

Lin Shen certainly understood this principle, but he was genuinely curious as to why his eldest sister had given up in the first place; it didn't fit her character at all.

"Lei, get ready. We're going to take a trip to Sea Corn Base," Lin Shen decided, feeling that a visit there would be worthwhile.

After all, since he couldn't show himself at home, he might as well go to Sea Corn Base and see for himself what the situation was like between his eldest sister and Wan Nianbei.

He had to let his eldest sister know that if it were because of concern for them that she dared not be with Wan Nianbei, there was no need for her to compromise anymore.

Lin Shen also wanted to go to Sea Corn Base to take a look. In Dark Bird Base and Yashen Base, he was no longer able to find any Base Mutation Eggs with Fire Seed.

Sea Corn Base was a Super-Base, and the number of Base Mutation Eggs there far exceeded the combined total of Dark Bird Base and Yashen Base – perhaps he might even find more Fire Seed.

"Mr. Lin Shen, this isn't right!" Lei hesitated indecisively.

"I'll make the decision on this matter. Once we arrive, I'll explain it to my elder sister myself," Lin Shen instructed Lei to prepare, mainly because he had never been out before and needed Lei to guide him, otherwise he would have gone by himself.

Seeing that Lin Shen was resolute in his decision, Lei said nothing more and went out to prepare.

Following the principle that business must go on, Lei prepared a batch of goods, intending to sell them at Sea Corn Base for a profit.

"Lei truly is my sister's right-hand man," Lin Shen could only sigh at his sister's large influence on those around her.

Lin Shen made some disguises and set off with the caravan. Although traveling with the caravan was slower, he was not in a hurry.

Lei also prepared some local specialties for Lin Shen, telling him to visit Instructor Mu when he arrived at Sea Corn Base.

The caravan set out along the trade route. Though it was a trade route, many paths were overgrown with vegetation due to sparse use, requiring manual labor to clear the way.

Moreover, Base Variant Creatures often appeared. Fortunately, the levels of these creatures on the home planet were not high, and Lin Shen could easily resolve the issue with a few pets.

If they had taken a straight line, it would have taken only about seven or eight days to reach Sea Corn Base, but due to detours around some Base Mutation Zones, it took more than ten days to arrive.

Sea Corn Base was established next to the sea, resembling a colossal beast pressing down by the seaside.

It was said that during the great sea creature tide of years past, Sea Corn Base was the main battleground.

Many of the elders at Sea Corn Base were Mutators who had survived that particular war.

Subsequent smaller-scale sea creature tides were mostly fended off by Sea Corn Base.

"Lin Shen, what brings you here?" Lin Miao was both surprised and delighted to see him.

"I felt suffocated at home, and since you wouldn't let me go on an adventure, I had to come out and take a walk," Lin Shen said with a smile.

Lin Miao rolled her eyes at him, "You can't fool me with that excuse. My relationship with Wan Nianbei is over; it has no strings attached, so stop worrying unnecessarily."

"That's your business; I couldn't care less. I just want to check out the markets at Sea Corn Base, get some interesting Base Mutation Eggs to hatch and play with," Lin Shen replied.

"It would be for the best if that's really what you're thinking. Take this money. Buy whatever you want; you can spend it however you like, but don't get ripped off; it wouldn't look good for your sister. Also, you have to visit Instructor Mu; we of the Lin Family must show proper manners," Lin Miao said, handing Lin Shen a stack of money.

"Don't worry, sis. I've always been thrifty, and you know that," Lin Shen took the money directly and stuffed it into his pocket: "Sis, I'll go look around now."

"Not so fast. It's perfect timing that you came; Xiaobai just got back as well. You should go see her," Lin Miao held onto Lin Shen, saying, "She's quite nice; you have to seize the opportunity."

"Sis, haven't I told you before? She's only considering the likes of Ouyang Yudu," Lin Shen protested with a grimace.

"Times have changed. I've heard that Xiaobai has a good impression of you. She hasn't agreed to marry into the Ouyang Family because of you, so your chance is considerable.

I'm rooting for you, so give it your all," Lin Miao encouraged him, handing him another stack of money, "If you can really win Xiaobai over, everyone will know my brother-in-law chose you over Ouyang Yudu; what a reputation that would be! Be sure to buy some thoughtful gifts, and remember, opportunities are meant to be seized."

"I'll try my best," Lin Shen replied helplessly. Though he was determined to take the money, whether he would buy gifts for Bai Shenfei remained to be seen.

Leaving the hostel where Lin Miao was staying, with Lei's guidance, Lin Shen promptly arrived at the 'Sand Field,' one of the three major free trade markets in Sea Corn Base.
