Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Girls? Not Interested
"Ding, host located at Magic Capital Second Ring Wai Guo Club, would you like to sign in?"
The system's voice rang out, and Song Yun scratched his head in confusion. Damn, can you sign in here too? What would it give?
After clicking the sign-in button, the system's voice sounded again: "Ding! Congratulations host for completing this sign-in, awarded Firearms Specialization, master-level wilderness survival skills, and commando-level counter-surveillance awareness!"
!!!
Song Yun was so excited that he almost jumped up. How thrilling!
If the system just awarded money, Song Yun would have been indifferent by now.
But these skills would follow him for a lifetime, and if he encountered any trouble, they could all come in handy.
Tu Gang saw Song Yun standing still, thinking that his son-in-law was captivated by the cold firearms.
No way around it, when he first arrived, he felt the same. No man in the world doesn't love the weighty feel of these things; holding over ten pounds in your hand feels like you're grasping the lifeline.
"Son-in-law, shall we go practice shooting?"
Song Yun snapped back to reality and followed Tu Gang into the soundproof room.
Inside each compartment, a security personnel awaited, handling everything from loading to reloading.
Song Yun held a FAMAS in his hands, and as the security personnel explained, he switched off the safety.
"Tat-tat-tat!"
Even with earmuffs on, the intense vibrations and the roar of the sparks felt like they were pulling him into a battlefield—where the only things you can trust, besides your comrades, are the weapons in your hands.
Now, Song Yun's spiritual power was intensely focused; he could feel the bursting power of the weapon in his hands, like a mighty dragon.
So this is what shooting feels like.
Song Yun rapidly emptied the magazine's 25 bullets, handed the weapon back to the security staff, and took off his earmuffs to breathe a long sigh of relief.
So exhilarating!
He felt utterly refreshed from head to toe!
Outside the compartment, Tu Gang, looking at his son-in-law's shooting results, was deep in thought.
Logically speaking, this should be the son-in-law's first time handling a gun, but to hit the bullseye with every shot? This was too strange!
As Song Yun pushed open the door and moved his numbed arms, he laughingly said, "Uncle Tu, why are you looking at me with that expression?"
After pausing in thought, Tu Gang tentatively asked, "Son-in-law, have you touched these before?"
Song Yun shook his head in confusion and said, "Uncle Tu, I'm just an ordinary citizen. How could I possibly have access to these prohibited items?"
"Impossible! Absolutely impossible!" Tu Gang stood up excitedly.
This startled Song Yun: "Don't get agitated, let's talk this over calmly!"
"You really haven't? Think carefully?"
"Uncle Tu, have you been reading too many special forces novels? How could an ordinary guy like me... My record has always been clean, and I've never been abroad. How could I possibly touch these things?"
"Then that's weird..."
Tu Gang sat down on the stool and pondered, and Song Yun, out of curiosity, moved closer and asked, "What's the matter?"
Tu Gang silently handed over the shooting record to Song Yun.
Taking a look, Song Yun realized why Tu Gang was doubtful. No one would believe it.
But how could he explain that he had a system which gave him the talent for Firearms Specialization?
Probably, saying that would be less believable than just making up a story about being a retired commando returning to civilian life!
At least the latter seemed somewhat plausible.
"Although I don't know why it's like this, could it possibly be a talent?" Song Yun led on progressively.
Right! Tu Gang slapped his thigh. Why couldn't his son-in-law be naturally gifted, a born sharpshooter?
His gaze towards Song Yun grew increasingly fervent.
Song Yun retreated continuously in fright.
"Uncle Tu, don't look at me like that, I'm scared..."
"Sorry, got a bit too excited there. Here, try this one!"
Tu Gang led Song Yun to another booth and handed him an AK.
This gun could be called the king of war, but its only flaw was its astonishing recoil, which ordinary people simply couldn't handle.
Song Yun took it, and even without understanding much about it, he had seen this classic weapon in games.
He rested the AK on his shoulder, familiarizing himself with the feel, then turned off the safety and fired!
"Bang bang bang!"
Metal casings fell to the ground continuously, like an accompaniment to life.
Soon, thirty rounds were spent, and Tu Gang couldn't wait to see the results—only two shots missed the target; the rest were all concentrated near the center of the target.
He'd struck gold!
Tu Gang was ecstatic, his son-in-law truly was a man of many talents!
Just then, a girl with two bodyguards knocked on the booth's door.
Tu Gang opened the door, and his expression changed upon seeing who it was.
A beautiful girl with fiery red hair walked in. She frowned slightly upon seeing Tu Gang and then gave him a light push.
Faced with such provocation, Tu Gang only darkened his face but did not speak.
Seeing that Tu Gang still stood in the doorway, the girl seemed a tad impatient.
"I mean, Tu Gang, have you really taken to being the Ye family's loyal guard dog? You even dare to block my way?"
"Miss Deng, you can say what you want, but that does not mean you can trample the Ye family's name underfoot," Tu Gang said assertively.
The two bodyguards beside the girl seemed ready to step forward but were stopped by her.
"Tu Gang was an assault soldier in the military, and you two wouldn't be able to beat him. Besides, I've come from Forty-nine City to Magic Capital just following my family elders." The girl spoke indifferently: "But I heard that Ye Qingqing got married? To someone outside the circle, no less. So, I wanted to see what the man who captured her is like."
"Sorry, but my son-in-law is not a courtesan, not someone you can meet just because you say you want to," Tu Gang refused.
"Heh, give you a little respect and you think you're the master? I'm going in to see, and I see who can stop me!"
With that, the girl walked straight inside. Tu Gang was in a bind—he couldn't stop the young miss with his status. Surely, he couldn't push her out forcibly, could he?
Setting aside whether doing so would cause any repercussions, the sheer number of men vying for the young miss's favor could likely besiege the Ye family.
The girl was clearly aware that Tu Gang wouldn't dare to stop her, and as she walked in, she saw Song Yun's back.
At that moment, Song Yun was squatting on the ground, holding a spent cartridge in his hand. He was contemplating how he might be able to take this keepsake home.
"Hello, my name is Deng Qi, from Forty-nine City."
Song Yun came to his senses and glanced up at her—a girl? Not interested.
Deng Qi looked puzzled as Song Yun turned his head away again, and she was quite astonished in her heart.
First, Ye Qingqing's husband was indeed handsome!
Second, she wasn't ugly, right? Plenty of men fell into the trap of her charm, so why was this man completely indifferent?
