"The race." As the eerie wail of a pack of wolves drifted through the air, Eden mumbled, taking out my spear,

"the race wasn't extinct...

...They were turned into monsters."

As Eden completed his sentence, from within the lush and greenery road, five figures came into view.

"

Growl

."

Running on all fours, they growled at them with saliva dripping down their mouths like hungry beasts ready to launch and devour their blood.

The bodies of beast were a blend of human and beast, with the muscular physique and sharp claws of a werewolf, coupled with the pale skin of a vampire.

Their glowing crimson eyes pierced the darkness, reflecting both their predatory instincts and their thirst for blood.

Their fangs protruded menacingly from their mouths, ready to tear into flesh with primal hunger and bloodlust.

"...So they are blood beasts?" Elysia asked as she took out her own spear.

"...if you ask me, their name is kinda lame," Nadya mumbled as she took out two sharp knifes.

"You are going to use a knifes?" Eden asked, glancing at her as the beasts came closer to us.

"I can't use mana properly here," she replied, "so my water and lightning affinities are off, leaving me with only weapons."

"...Just be safe," he mumbled as he looked ahead.

"Eden," Elysia called him, prompting him to glance at her.

"What?"

"Step back; we can take care of them," she replied, looking into my eyes.

"You sure?"

"Yeah."

Then he looked at Nadya for her answer, and she nodded her head as well.

"Be careful then, and remember, don't spill a single drop of blood," he reminded them as he took a step back while they walked forward.

"Nadya."

"Yes, sister?"

"If I kill more than you, then you are sleeping separately from Eden."

"Why should I?" Nadya asked, raising her brow.

"...I can't sleep because of you two," she replied, a small blush creeping on her cheeks.

"....Tough luck, sister, but I am not going to bet my time with him for anything," she replied.

"

Urgh

..."

Elysia groaned in frustration as she glared at her sister, but soon she shook her head, focusing on the beasts.

AAWOOOO!!!

With a loud collective howl, three of the beasts launched themselves at Elysia, and two at Nadya, their claws extended towards them.

"Good luck, sister," Nadya mumbled with a smile as her pink eyes glowed lightly. Just as they did, one of the beast's eyes turned blank before it changed its direction, running towards Elysia.

"Hey!! That's cheating!!"

Being overwhelmed by the numbers, Elysia shouted, but Nadya completely ignored her words.

Clang!!!

The sound of metal clashing resonated as Nadya's short blades collided with the beast's claws.

Nadya took a step backwards due to the recoil after the collision. Her expression turned serious as she took her battle stance.

With one blade protecting her lower body, she brought the second blade close to her face as the beast swung its claws again.

Reacting swiftly, she took a step back, avoiding the claw before she sliced with precision at the right-hand tendon of the beast.

"Awoo!!"

The beast let out a loud howl of agony as blood gushed from his injury. But it didn't take its hand even a minute before it started to heal the injury.

"Tch, hey Eden, how do I kill this thing!?" Clicking her tongue, Nadya asked loudly as she parried the beast's restless claw attacks.

"Off with the head," Eden replied as he looked at Elysia, who was having a hard time fighting four of the beasts together.

Nadya, not wasting any time, focused back on the beast as she once again started to make small cuts into the beast's body.

Starting from the hand that was covered with fur, she made small cuts on the parts which helped the beast in attacking and power.

And when one of its hands was damaged enough, she swung her blades, taking a swift turn and moving behind the beast before she pierced its back with both of the blades.

"AAWOOOO.!!"

The beast shouted as it turned sharply, swinging its claw at her face.

With her hand still on the hilt of the blade, she leaned backward easily dodging the attack.

Her eyes glowed again and for a second the beast was unable to move.

Pluck!!

With a 'pluck' sound, she withdrew both blades before she thrust them into the beast's eye sockets.

"

Grawal

."

Growling, the beast tried to attack aimlessly, but it couldn't do anything as she was swift like a cat.

"

Happ

."

Taking a deep breath, Nadya, using the beast's thigh as a foothold, jumped up before she used her thighs to lock around the beast's neck, choking it out of breath.

As the beast struggled to breathe, she plucked out both her blades from its eye socket before she aimed them at either side of its skull.

Crack!!

The skull of the beast cracked open as she twisted her blades inside its brain, the inside of its brain spilling on Nadya's leg. She didn't seem to mind it as she repeated the same move over and over again.

The beast's body fell down with a 'thud,' its eyes drained of any life.

"

Huff

..."

Taking a deep breath, she cleaned all the brain matter off her leg coverd in a armour before she looked at Eden.

"You wish it was you, right?... choking between my thighs." With a mischievous smile, she asked, her hand intervening behind her back as she walked close to him.

Pointing his finger towards himself, he slightly opened his mouth to say something, but no voice came out.

"Thought so." Her smile widened as she tiptoed, taking a sip of his lips, while intervening her hands behind his back.

"Hey!! You horny rabbits, help me!!" The one fighting with four beasts on her own exclaimed.

"Yeah, right." Eden mumbled as he remembered Elysia while taking a step away from Nadya.

Lowering his hand, he gently touched the bracelet in his hand as he supplied Star Energy within it.

Swish!!

With a soft sound, the chain bracelet in his hand started to turn bigger and bigger until it was the size of a rope.

With precision, Eden latched the chain onto two of the beasts.

The chain intervened with their necks like a snake coiling around them.

"

Haapp

."

Tightening his grip on the chain, he pulled it backward, and with the chain, two of the beasts also came closer to him.

"

Growl

."

They both growled at him as they tried to maintain their balance and prepare to launch at him.

But before they could do anything, Eden placed his index finger beneath his thumb as he brought it closer to one of the beasts' heads.

Brust!!

Covering his fingers with Star Energy, he flicked his index finger, and the head of the beast burst open, its blood and brain matter spreading around the place like paint on a canvas.

He repeated the same move again, killing the other one.

"Way to show off." Smiling, Nadya mumbled, looking lovingly at the white-haired boy.

"Huff...huff...."

With half the beasts gone, it didn't take Elysia long to kill the remaining two as she took deep breaths to calm her racing heart.

"I hate you," Elysia growled, glaring at her sister.

"So do I," Nadya replied with a soft smile before she shifted her focus to Eden.

"How did I do?" She asked expectantly, looking at him while lowering her head slightly.

"You did great," Eden replied, patting her head like he used to, "at least against the weakest of them."

Nadya froze in her place as she gently lifted her head. "What?"

"Yeah," Eden smiled at her reaction before he moved towards the beast, "right now we are at the outermost part of the city, but as we move in, we will face far more powerful beasts than the ones here."

".....Ahh, fuck," Nadya grumbled with a heavy sigh.

"So how far do we need to go before we can find our mother?" Elysia asked, looking at Eden.

"....To the center of the city," he replied, glancing at the tower that was visible even from hundreds of kilometers away.

".....And who's the strongest?" Nadya muttered, looking at him.

"The king or the alpha," Eden replied with a bright smile, looking at them, "someone who has reached Ascension Level."

But hearing the words, both sisters turned wide-eyed.
