Chapter 648 Daugmir Won't Fall Today!
"Can you shut the fuck up?"
Kale's words stunned the Gale Emperor as he looked at him with disbelief. He just couldn't process what he had just heard from his most dutiful and father fearing son, or so he thought.
The sudden change in his tone and his expression into a cold one made the Gale Emperor speechless. Other than Damien, who dared to speak rudely to him, he had never expected to hear it from anybody else, especially his own son.
But as the Gale Emperor, how could he simply sit still and hear this silently even if it was from his own son?
"Kale Gale, you—"
"Shhh. Nobody wants to hear a word more from your dog's mouth. We all know what happens whenever you wag your tongue. But this time, your tongue won't help you. This time everybody knows what kind of a bastard you really are. How twisted must you be to sleep with your own daughter-in-law? Even if you destroyed the recording, I have a hundred more copies of it. Heh, I have been waiting for this day for at least a year," Kale Gale said with a wild expression, finally able to let loose everything he had been bottling up.
Never in his life before did he ever dream of having the courage to even talk back to his father, let alone curse him like this. But instead of feeling any fear, Kale only felt relief and a high sense of satisfaction.
Just as he said, he had been waiting and waiting patiently to make his move, suppressing his rage and the urge to take revenge on his father for sleeping with his wife.
If not for Tristen and Godnim holding him back and explaining to him their ambitious plan, he would have been a goner. He was glad that he listened to his brother and his friend even if, at that time, he found their plan to be weak and ridiculous.
"Enough! Who do you think you are talking to? Just because you are my son, you think I will let you off with this nonsense?!" The Gale Emperor roared with an incensed expression, not at feeling guilty even after his own son exposed his wrongdoings. He still didn't feel he did anything wrong.
If anything, it was Kale's fault his slutty wife was unsatisfied. If a man does not know how to satisfy their wife, they shouldn't cry when their wife finds someone else to satisfy them. This was his ideology.
"That is enough, Your Majesty. There is no need to threaten your own son, especially after wronging him in such a disgraceful manner," Viran, one of the two Supreme Elders, stepped forward with a subtle dark expression while his iron-like figure gave off an intimidating aura.
The Gale Emperor clicked his tongue in frustration upon seeing the oldest member in the family step forward to shield Kale. He knew Viran had the authority to talk to him like this, especially if the odds were against him.
Thus he controlled his anger as he said in a taut voice, "Supreme Elder, you have no idea what you are dealing with her. As much as I am ashamed to say it, my son here is just fabricating evidence to try everything he can to get the throne for himself. Don't you see? This is all just one big ploy. He was probably colluding with Damien all this time, considering he showed you all that recording."
The Gale Emperor was simply spouting whatever nonsense he could come up with to desperately turn around this situation. But he had no idea that Kale had unknowingly been colluding with Damien all this time.
"Please stop it before it gets out of hand, Your Majesty. The reason we even requested an audience was to see if you would still have some dignity to admit your mistakes no matter how disgraceful they are. But it seems as if we expected too much from you. What a disappointment," Lurim Gale, the second Supreme Elder, stepped forward as he shook his head with a disappointed look.
It seemed as if he had high hopes for the Gale Emperor in the past, but now he was disappointed that he failed to see who he really was.
The Gale Emperor gritted his teeth as he saw these Supreme Elders openly defying him and how most of the ministers behind them were also supporting their actions by refusing to speak up.
"Viran, Lurim, you two would rather believe the words of an unfilial child rather than your own emperor?" The Gale Emperor asked with clenched teeth while quickly trying to think of a solution.
But no matter how hard he thought about it, he just couldn't find a way out of this situation. It was already a miracle he was able to defuse the situation that happened in the Great Hall a month ago. However, it was only possible since nobody saw the recording and had no proof.
But now, things were different, and for a moment, he thought of…forcing his way out and fleeing!
Viran, who was wise and experienced about the thinking process of men like the Gale Emperor, immediately said as he noticed the subtle change in the Gale Emperor's eyes, "Daugmir, that's enough. If you try to escape responsibility, then you will only be making this difficult for every one of us. So at least step down as an emperor and let it be the last and most graceful step you could take. And even if we don't have to, we are willing to not let the public learn any of this and instead tell them that you voluntarily would be handing over the throne to your son, Kale."
Kale subtly smirked as he crossed his arms, feeling quite good after seeing how his so-called 'father' was getting cornered.
"Ha! You two old idiots must be dreaming to think that I will let you all step over me. There is no way I, Daugmir the Emperor, would fall today!"
