Chapter 150: Memories (Part-1)

I was born in a small countryside town of Buraford Kingdom and at the age of six witnessed the sudden disappearance of the one that I love, at least from my side. I was concerned about him and there was not a single day that I did not worry and thought about Kai. I don't know why I had such intense feelings for him. It just existed and with years it kept on increasing day after day.

[Eleven years ago, the day of Kai's disappearance from my life]

I returned to my house after getting my potential tested. My mother and father were so happy, knowing I am one in a million-year genius, it was the happiest day in their life. But for me it was not, I only felt a void in my heart. A place in my heart that never is filled. For a girl whose age is just 6 years old, it was a complicated feeling and I was not able to understand it.

I just knew one thing, that I have to find Kai. Only he can fill that void.

After a week, I and my fellow town mates left the town to travel with Town Lord Alfred. Everyone was cheerfully talking but I didn't feel any joy. Instead, I felt lonely, saying goodbye to the familiar town and my parents without knowing when I would return or meet them again.

I didn't want to leave but I remember the promise I and Kai had made together one year ago, to become a Magic Grandmaster together and return to the village.

He is no longer with me and the promise was the last thing which connected us both together as well as the promise which I had made to myself to find him. Wherever he may be on the continent. So I hardened my heart and entered the carriage with others.

During our journey, I became friends with others and my loneliness was suppressed a little. It seems I was not the only one who was feeling so, others were also feeling lonely with fear in their heart towards the unknown outside world.

We travel for four days and three nights to reach the southern fortress city known by the name Aviron.

The place where we are going to meet the representatives of various academies throughout the continent.

[Four days later, Aviron City]

By the time we reached our destination, the sun on the horizon was already setting.

It was my first time seeing a city and the huge walls with man's wearing leather armor and spears in their hands walking around. In the unknown land, we didn't dare to move around and stayed together with the Town Lord.

Entering the city we saw the entire street brighten up with magic lamps and hawkers shouting from the roadside to attract customers. People were moving around like it was day time and chatting with one another.

It was a completely different experience for me and my head was full of curiosity towards the new world I had just entered.

We wanted to tour the city and urged Town Lord Alfred, who refused to listen and took us directly to the registration center. There all the participants will have to get themselves registered and let the representatives know that they have arrived.

Later, he took us to an inn where we all stayed for the night.

This night was going to be the last night when all of us were together in the same place as we laughed and smiled.

Seeing that, it reminded me of Kai's crying face. Who suddenly disappeared into the unknown, making my heart jabbed. Others also noticed my condition and came to ask with concern.

Sir Alfred was also there and saw that my mood was not right. Took me out for a walk though he had said before that he wouldn't do it.

I walked down the street while holding the hand of the Town Lord, who would from time to time look at me to make sure that I am still alright.

Now that I think about it, I found it so amusing and also felt the kindness in his heart. Which could be seen simply by looking into his eyes.

After some time, I felt better and returned to the inn going straight to sleep. Next Morning was going to be an important part of our life experience and will determine the first step into the world of magic power and fighters.

[Next Morning, Front of examination Centre]

The examination center was not so big. It was a one-story building with walls made up of wood and a reverse V shape ceiling.

A man was standing before the gate holding a paper and a pen.

The representatives have already informed the Town Lord to come at 11.00 AM with his town children. It was done so that a large crowd of people doesn't gather at a place and hamper the normal operation of the city.

Following the instructions of the exams,

My fellow mates and I were standing in two rows. One row with who had the potential to become a fighter and another was those who can become magic users.

The Town Lord was holding to our number plate and standing in front of us.

Every one of us already knew about the body potential and mage root rank we possess but that didn't prevent us from feeling nervous and tense.

The Town Lord had a serious look and handed us the number plates, telling us to only enter the room if the person at the gate calls out the number on the plate.

Everyone understood his words and waited patiently for their number to be called out.

Eventually, my number was called out and I also entered the examination room.

I was feeling tense at that time as my breath quickened. Suddenly Town Lord patted my shoulder and whispered into my ears.

"Relax you have the greatest potential among all the children in the village. Let me give you advice, go and join the Chronos Magic Academy. I don't believe that they will refuse to take you under their wing. It is also the best place for you to grow faster with a strong foundation"

Hearing that I had slowly nodded my head and entered the room.

The place from where I started my journey into the world of magic users and fist step in fulfilling my side of promise to Kai.
