Chapter 135: Sponge
Xu Feng's accuracy in the weapon that was not specialized for his class astounded Zhao Kai.
The reason was that not only did Xu Feng accurately shoot at the critical flesh points, but he continuously did it repeatedly without pause.
To top it off, Zhao Kai noticed the recoil was lessened tremendously, and Xu Feng barely moved much in between each interval of shots.
'W-Why did he choose a Cleric class then?' Zhao Kai was stunned on the spot, completely speechless at Xu Feng's capability and somewhat odd decision.
Sometime later, Xu Feng effectively killed the Ironwood Treant after much effort.
"Did you observe everything?" Xu Feng stood up, turned to him, and asked.
"Uhh–yes," Zhao Kai responded, albeit lacking some confidence. If he were suddenly tasked to repeat his actions, then it would be over for him.
Thankfully though, Xu Feng merely nodded his head, returned the Ironbolt Rifle to him and instructed, "Now go and practice a bit more on other Ironwood Treants."
"Roger that!" Not even bothering to complain or anything, Zhao Kai readily accepted the job without hesitation.
As Zhao Kai began his search for those monsters in disguise, Xu Feng discreetly shook his hand repeatedly. It was filled with redness, and he was forced to cast heal on himself to treat his numb hand.
To use other weapons not specialized to his class at his current stage was indeed too much.
However, he wasn't going to complain since a live demonstration was way better than just instructing with verbal speech.
'Hopefully, you really learned something and don't waste my effort, Kai.' He exclaimed inwardly, gazing at Zhao Kai who was excited at finding a disguised monster.
Exhausted, Xu Feng found a cozy spot to take a rest.
He was definitely going to kick the heck out of Zhao Kai if he learned nothing and continued his terrible stance.
Suddenly, Xu Feng recalled something and shouted loudly, "Remember to kill the Ironwood Treant this time! Don't you dare let it recover slowly and not attempt to search for more!"
"I got it, Feng!" Zhao Kai responded loudly in return, afraid that he wouldn't be able to hear him from afar.
Though the truth was, he was somewhat afraid of pissing him off when it was quite clear that Xu Feng's expertise in the Divine World was extraordinary.
'I better not mess up.' Zhao Kai hoped silently, mimicking Xu Feng's stance from the earlier demonstration. Now that he was given a clear direction on how to properly shoot with the Ironbolt Rifle, it was actually getting difficult.
Compared to when he wantonly shot in whatever stance he wanted, he now had to perfect his stance and correctly adjust his aiming angle as well. Thus, the process was naturally going to be harder than before.
"Just how did Feng manage to do it if his compatibility with the weapon is trash?" Beads of sweat trickled down his forehead as he wondered how Xu Feng accomplished such a feat.
Since Xu Feng was able to accomplish such a feat, then it would have been an embarrassment for him to fail.
'My stance should be fine now.' Zhao Kai thought to himself, keeping his back straight and leaning slightly forward. By doing this, his weight would be evenly distributed on both feet.
As his stance remained steady after some time, Zhao Kai took deep breaths and focused on his aim. He aligned the front and rear sights of the rifle with the target, keeping both his eyes open to maintain peripheral awareness.
Slowly, he placed the pad of his index finger on the trigger and applied steady pressure on the trigger. The key was to squeeze the trigger gently, not pull it abruptly, to avoid jerking and prevent misalignment.
With all the preparation done, Zhao Kai's eyes began analyzing the structure of the Ironwood Treant, searching for the critical flesh points.
A few moments later, he found it and squeezed the trigger gently, firing a shot.
BANG!
A loud thud landed on the Ironwood Treant, and Zhao Kai made sure to lean slightly into the shot to allow his body to absorb the rifle's recoil.
'It really worked!' Surprised, Zhao Kai found himself more steady than previously when shooting consecutively.
There were next to zero changes in his aim and position after following Xu Feng's instructions.
Unknowingly, he was able to remain focused on the change of the critical flesh points thanks to his new steady movement.
Without hesitation, he began to fire at the new critical flesh points location, consistently shooting in between an interval of 7-9 seconds.
'This Kai is really like a sponge.' Xu Feng chuckled from the sideline.
Just by giving one demonstration, Zhao Kai was able to pick himself up and absorb all of his instructions in one go. To be able to display results quite immediately, he could be considered quite a genius in terms of shooting.
As Zhao Kai immersed himself in his newfound capability, Xu Feng began reading a new message from OneManMedia.
OneManMedia: Lin Feng's boss… are you sure you won't restrict my freedom if I join your upcoming guild?
Anonymous User: Indeed, I don't like to restrict the freedom of my subordinates. Additionally, you are free to continue your work whatsoever, under the condition that it does not harm the guild.
OneManMedia: I still have to think about it, but can you allow me to interview the process of Guild Leader Gentle Wind recruitment?
"..."
Xu Feng twitched his brows a few times when he finished reading it. 'This OneManMedia sure has guts. He clearly is still unwilling but decided to message me for a favor.'
As speechless as he was initially, Xu Feng had to give props to the man for being very gutsy. If one isn't gutsy, then how could they accomplish something big?
Anonymous User: I take it as you owe me a favor if I assist you.
OneManMedia: I-I understand… as long as it's not about me joining any organization or against my principles.
Anonymous User: That's quite ambitious of you. If I ask you to find some information for me later on or something else, but you say it's against your principles. Then isn't it a loss for me?
"It's fine to take advantage of me, but there's a price to pay, little man." Xu Feng smirked, eager for the latter response.
