Chapter 270: Growlithe evolving into Arcanine!

Chapter 270: Growlithe evolving into Arcanine!

When evolving, Growlithe will mutate towards becoming an Arcanine. The pure Fire Type energy within the Fire Stone will modify Growlithe’s bloodline, remolding it and triggering a species mutation.

This process is both the sublimation of Growlithe’s life and the moment when its bloodline undergoes reorganization, making its genes the most unstable.

At this time, if Growlithe also absorbs the “Bloody Wing,” Terrance estimates that this is the phase with the highest chance of stimulating the “berserk Dragon Type gene” within Growlithe.

Moreover, this “berserk gene” will merge with every part of Growlithe’s body due to the bloodline reorganization during evolution, making Growlithe’s “Outrage” even more strong.

Terrance plans to have Growlithe take it directly.

Terrance wasted no time in taking action. Coinciding with the lull in the High-level Area, Terrance had lost interest in battles. He traded one exchange opportunity to get a portion of Bloody Wing, then took out his notebook to plan Growlithe’s evolution.

Blood is a complex substance; part of an organism’s metabolism relies on it. So, blood contains nutrients for cells as well as waste products from the body’s metabolism. Additionally, some hormones and mysterious substances secreted by the body are also released into the blood…

Salamence and Growlithe are not similar to strange lifeforms like Onix or Gastly; blood is an important part of their bodies. What Growlithe needs is just the stimulation from the Bloody Wing to trigger its “berserk gene.”

And the impurities in the blood naturally need to be cleared out.

Terrance isn’t worried about this. After evolving, Arcanine can convert the burning flames within its body into power, and with these raging flames, eliminating those impurities will be effortless.

Taking a deep breath, Terrance felt ready to begin, but he needed to find a spacious place.

Simultaneously triggering the “berserk gene” and absorbing the energy of the Fire Stone to evolve is, without a doubt, another challenge.

If not careful, Growlithe could lose its sanity during the evolution. If it successfully comprehends Outrage but fails to control it, Terrance might not live to recall Arcanine back into its Poké Ball.

Adequate preparation is a must!

The next day.

At the edge of LaRousse City, in a public area.

Terrance led Growlithe here and released Castform and Mismagius as well.

Holding a Fire Stone in one hand and a small bottle in the other, Terrance took a deep breath.

“Are you ready?”

“Woof!” Growlithe nodded.

“Alright, relax a bit first,” Terrance says with a faint smile.

“Castform, use Sunny Day, but don’t make it too high.”

“Castformmm~~~”

A light orb was released by Castform, hovering in midair and resonating with the sun. The temperature of the area instantly rose, causing Growlithe to shake its fur comfortably.

With its pink tongue sticking out, Growlithe eagerly eyed the two items in Terrance’s hand. If it weren’t for knowing the importance of the situation, it would have pounced on them already.

It’s about to begin—

The area was incredibly quiet—a secluded area that Terrance had specifically chosen. Only Terrance and his Pokémon were here, and the silence added a sense of solemnity to the atmosphere.

Opening the small bottle, the semi-coagulated blood was swallowed by Growlithe. Immediately, Terrance felt a tightness in his chest as he handed over the Fire Stone. Growlithe lightly tapped it with its front paw, and the two energies resonated. The sealed energy within the Fire Stone began to pour out endlessly, crazily entering Growlithe’s body through its limbs as a conduit.

At that moment, Terrance stepped back, and a blinding white light flashed before his eyes. Growlithe’s entire body was enveloped in a dazzling white glow, making it impossible to see what changes were occurring within.

“It’s evolving…” Terrance felt a mix of heaviness and joy. A year might not be a long time, but it’s not short either, and among the Pokémon raised by him, Growlithe’s evolution had been relatively late.

Within the white light, the energy from the Fire Stone was wildly modifying Growlithe’s bloodline, causing it to undergo a mutation toward a higher life form. Simultaneously, the Bloody Wing flowing within Growlithe was engulfed by flames, penetrating deep into Growlithe’s body.

Countless impurities were instantly burned away by the flames, leaving behind only a trace of mysterious substance that slowly began to flow, wrapped in the Fire Stone’s energy. As Growlithe felt intense pain, its body started to transform along with it.

Evolution, the mutation of their race that so many Pokémon eagerly look forward to, is one of the most effective ways to enhance a Pokémon’s strength.

This process is full of mystery and the unknown. To these incredible creatures called Pokémon, there is always the possibility of further exploration.

In Terrance’s view, the white light grew even more intense, and Growlithe’s figure began to enlarge, transforming from a puppy-like build into a large canine. Only then did the white light slowly shatter, breaking into tiny white specks that scattered in the air.

Growlithe’s deep orange fur, which originally had black stripes, became even darker through this evolution, resembling the majestic black and orange stripes of a tiger.

The fur on its chest, which previously appeared fluffy, now spread out, covering its face and transforming into thick, flaxen-colored fur. Not only that, even its legs became surrounded by the same flaxen fur. The previously short tail had grown into a long one, and its body now seemed to merge with the wind, giving it a regal presence.

“Awooo~”

The large figure took a step forward, and Arcanine shook its head, letting out a howl toward the sky. Its brown eyes, now tinged with a hint of red, added a touch of coldness to its handsome appearance.

“Arcanine, Outrage!”

Standing in the distance, Terrance released Altaria and Beautifly, commanding in a low voice. The red gleam in Arcanine’s eyes immediately deepened, and its fur stood on end as layers of heat waves surrounded its body. The intense flames within it had already transformed into raw power. In an instant, Arcanine charged towards Altaria, which was flying in the sky, with astonishing speed.

As Arcanine ran, the flames on its fur-clad limbs blazed up. At that moment, its entire body was engulfed in countless flames, transforming it into a flame demon. Altaria flew higher and higher, but with a powerful leap from Arcanine, the ground was scorched and cracked by the intense flames. Using the massive force generated by an explosive burst of flames, Arcanine leaped once again, charging full force at Altaria.

Terrance frowned slightly as he observed the cracks left by the flames on the ground and Arcanine’s effortless leap that allowed it to reach Altaria’s flying height. He quickly commanded, “Dragon Claw!”

Flare Blitz, shrouded in raging flames, collided with the bluish-purple claw-shaped wave, causing a massive explosion in the sky.
