Chapter 4
Han screamed and dodged the man’s jump. He looked around him for anything to use as a weapon. This man was definitely not human. The way he was looking at Han like a meal to be devoured was telling him that he had to protect himself no matter what.
Han saw a metal pole under a car and he quickly reached for it. The man grabbed his legs to pull him out and Han kicked him in the head. This was all about survival of the fittest! If this man wanted to hurt him then it was only fair that he hurt him back! There was no law like jungle law!
SLAM!
The metal pole bashed into the man’s head, digging into his skull and cracking his brain open like a coconut. The man fell to the ground and Han dropped the metal pole while breathing heavily.
[You have killed 1 regular Zombie. You have gained two free skill points. You have gained +2 strength. You have leveled up to level 2]
Han shook his head while reading the notification. There had to be a mistake somewhere. Did he just read that right? This man was a zombie!?
ROARRR!
ROARRR!
ROARRR!
Three more roars alerted Han to the presence of three zombies running towards him. He quickly grabbed the pole from the floor and turned to face them. When the first one reached him, Han slammed the pole straight through its head like a baseball bat and the zombie fell to the ground.
The second zombie tackled him to the ground, but Han managed to kick it off him, making it slam into the third zombie. Han was shocked at his own strength. He knew he wasn’t this strong to have killed a zombie in only one hit. And that kick right now was even stronger.
‘Is this because of that notification? Don’t tell me it actually made me stronger!’
ROAARRR!
The zombies had become more angry and Han quickly shot up to his feet. He ran towards the first one instead of waiting for it to come to him.
‘The first one to attack wins! In this world only the strong survive!’
Han slammed the metal pole into the one place he knew to guarantee a kill. It’s head! The pole cracked its head open and it fell to the ground. The third one tried to jump on Han, but Han kicked it back and bashed its head in while it was down.
Fuck chivalry! If they wanted to eat him then they would have to work for it!
[You have killed 2 Regular Zombies. You have gained +5 free points. You have gained +2 Strength. You have gained +2 stamina. You have leveled up to level 3]
[You have killed 1 Advanced Zombie. You have gained +3 free points. You have gained +1 Stamina. You have unlocked passive skill [Critical Hit]]
[Critical Hit] – +50% chance of landing a blow with +100% extra strength. Percentage chance increases with level.
Han saw these notifications and his heartbeat increased dramatically. This was actually happening. He was no longer normal, was he?
Han looked at this stats and wondered what he was going to do with these ‘free points’.
“Didn’t Rina say they could be used for anything? Like free money? Okay, what if I do this?”
[You have used 3 free points. You have gained +3 Stamina]
Han could feel his body changing from only that small increase. Just like when his strength had increased and he felt like he could hit harder. Now he knew he could run for far longer than before. Was this not a cheat system? This wasn’t fair at all to anyone else!
Han then remembered that his life up to this point wasn’t fair at all to him and his mindset changed. So what if it wasn’t fair to anyone? He deserved to have a cheat system after all the things he had been through!
But first, Han needed to find out where he was. He couldn’t just say in the middle of the street with only his trusty metal pole. He was vulnerable out here!
He tried to think of the best place to go to, but his mind was clouded and he couldn’t think clearly. Was this the effect of having low intelligence stats?
“I remember that I only have 5 points in intelligence. Isn’t this too small? Am I not an idiot!?”
Han quickly took all the remaining free points and threw them into intelligence.
[You have used 7 free points. You have gained +7 intelligence]
Immediately this notification came up, Han felt his mind clear up and he could think clearer. He was immediately lifted from the status of an idiot to that of a mathematical scholar who understood basic calculus easily.
Now that he could think clearly, he immediately realized that the first thing he needed were the three basic necessities. Food, water, and shelter. If he found this then he could begin thinking of a way to get out of here. These Zombie things were probably all over the city, so he had to be careful when moving around. There was no way he was going to die here. He needed to get back to his world to make sure his sister was okay.
Han began walking down the street, making sure to keep to secret alleys and hidden paths as he moved. During that time he managed to take down seven more advanced zombies and twenty regular ones. He also noticed that he recieved less and less skill points from them as time went on. He had killed that many, but he was still at level five since he stopped leveling up after the tenth regular zombie.
But he still had twenty more free skills and he immediately put them in various attributes.
His status now looked like this
Name – Han Luo
Level – 5
Strength – 14
Stamina – 18
Agility – 15
Intelligence – 25
Skills – [Critical Hit – 5]
His skill, critical hit had also leveled up to five and it became easier for him to kill the zombies with only one hit.
