Chapter 20: Stats are for Losers [Bonus Chapter]
There was no refreshing breeze or any kind of morning thing to wake me up. Heck, I doubted it was even morning now.
I rolled of the bed and stretched my limbs all around. At the same time, the scenario window popped open in front of my eyes.
[Scenario 2 - What fun are weaklings?]
[Condition 1: Form a Party (3/5)]
[Condition 2: Find a Hideout (Complete)]
[Condition 3: Level up to Level 10 (Complete)]
[Condition 4: ?????]
[Condition 5: ?????]
Though one more condition had opened, the other two hadn't.
There were two theories in my mind for this, one being that we had to fulfill the party requirement.
Or.
This was a time triggered scenario. Since it would be stupid to not make people interact with each other, they had already divided them into parties. Until everyone else met the requirements, not opening the others made some sense.
"Hm, food."
I was pretty well rested after sleeping for all this time.
The hero seemed to have gone into a room and was still asleep. As I stepped out of mine, I waved my hands.
Stinks.
The bodies were a pain.
Burning them here would be stupid too. Since I had nothing else to do, I started dragging them all to the lift. It was cramped, so I broke a few of their bones to make them fit inside. Not like it mattered since they were going to become zombie food eventually.
In two rounds up, I left the dead out in the passageway and returned back down. As I wiped off the blood from my forehead, the lift came to a stop and stood outside the hero.
"Sup?"
"Morning…"
His eyes were on the trail of blood the bodies had left. They tended to do that when you shot holes through them.
"Wanna eat something?" The hero asked. It looked like he had given up on his stupid ideals temporarily.
"Sure."

It was after we had raided the canned rations in the place that were still more than enough to feed us heartily for a few years.
With the stat windows open, I, Relafan and Neo Mack 3 sat together on a table.
"I should be adding the stats now, right?"
"No," I turned him down right away.
I was curious more about the skill points, but as far as stats went.
"They are utterly useless."
The Hero and the Slime widened their eyes.
"What do you mean?"
"Popipo…."
"Don't you remember what happened with us? No matter how strong we were, it all ended up being useless the moment we came to this world."
"So stats…?"
"Stats are for losers. Let's prove the point, raise your strength to fifteen."
The hero looked at me weirdly before shrugging. It seemed he didn't think much about my claims.
"Oh? It's asking for two stat points to level one up after 10?"
"Do it anyway."
It seemed leveling up was't that easy.
"Done," he said as he finished assigning the stat points that we both had plenty of.
"Alright, here," I pointed at the wall to one of the empty rooms. "Punch this wall. All your strength, use your magical power too."
The hero took in a sharp breath.
He pulled his hands back. And in the next moment, shot out a punch.
Like a bullet, it slammed into the white wall and a small, tiny dent formed.
Magic power was insane, huh?
"Pretty good, if I say so myself…"
"It is, it is pretty good."
I nodded.
But that was the deal with borrowed strength. If you didn't know the suffering needed to get it.
The strength would just be useless.
I took in a breath and took a stance in front of the wall. The hero walked back and watched.
Then, I punched.
—RRRRRRUMBLE!
The wall bent backward as the mark of my fist stamped itself on it.
"How…"
"See? When you have what you have from your own growth, you can utilize to the last drop."
"Ah…"
"And."
I looked at the Hero and narrowed my eyes.
"Nothing can take it away if its all yours."
"Oh…"
"Pipo…"
"Since we have time, we're going to spend the next of our days getting our stats up."
That meant intense workout.
"All the way to the thirties?"
