Chapter 121: Against Yue

They agreed with 30 armor and a wooden sword with 62 damage. Shen checked his stats, and he calculated he had 292 damage in total. 'Wait, if we use the original stat, does that mean I can kill her in four hits?'

He had been in Yue's position before, and he believed that her hp was around six hundred, or at max a thousand. 'Wait, no. 30 armor is about 25% damage reduction, that means I need to hit her five times, then I will win the fight.'

"Remember, Shen. I don't need your pity. I want you to fight me seriously!" Yue reminded him with a serious tone. Shen responded with a nod.

"Alright then, let's start the fight!" As the host room, Yue started the battle. The countdown appeared between them, starting from three, two, and one. As soon as the countdown reached zero, Shen immediately cast his skill, [Void Step].

Shen's figure dashed forward with incredible speed. It was clear that Yue did not expect that Shen would be this fast. She could not react in time and froze on the spot. Shen then executed the next skill, [Void Draw]. A quick movement followed by a quick slash from his skill.

Yue subconsciously stepped back after the first hit. However, Shen followed up with another skill, [Void Thrust]. He thrust the wooden sword to her stomach. Shen was just too fast, and Yue could only watch helplessly the wooden sword hit her stomach.

Then a big screen with red text appeared before her eyes. At the same time, Yue plopped down on her butts. Her eyes widened in shock as she looked at Shen. He defeated her in two hits. 'As expected, you can't trust the internet today. How can someone like him be a noob?'

Shen looked concerned as he immediately rushed over toward her and offered his hand. "Are you okay?"

Yue shook her head and reached his hand. She got up and replied with a smile. "I am fine, I just did not expect you would be that fast."

"Ah, that's my skill. Since you are more experienced than me, maybe you can adapt to my speed soon enough." Shen shook his head. He believed he won because he caught Yue unprepared with his skills. In a few rounds, he believed Yue would break his combo.

"That was a nice combo. You can catch the pro-players off guard with that combo. Unless you meet a pro player in the qualifier, you can save that combo until then." Yue voiced her thoughts. That was a nice combo, but it would not work for the second time to the same person because the movement was too straightforward.

Shen agreed with that, but he was unsure if he could defeat other players with his movement without using skills. "But I am not that confident that my normal movement can defeat the high-level players."

"I see," Yue rubbed her chin and nodded her head. "What about if we fight without using skill first? Maybe I can give you some input if you want to?'

"Alright, let's do that." Shen agreed with that. Fighting without skills was necessary because skills had a cooldown. He could not depend on his skills all the time, so he must learn some basic moves.

They returned to the position. Yue held her spear tighter as she felt the pressure. She proposed to teach Shen the experiences of fighting the pro player, but she was instantly lost in the first round. She was embarrassed since she was the one who proposed this.

The countdown started once again. As soon as it reached zero, Yue was the first one to make her move. She rushed toward Shen, she used her weapon advantage that was a spear. She thrust the spear toward Shen's chest.

However, Shen felt that Yue's movement was too slow. When she was about to thrust the spear toward him, he moved to the side. He avoided the spear before it could even reach him. By the time Yue thrust the spear forward, Shen had dashed forward from the side.

'Am I being too cocky to teach him? He has a good reaction, and I think he is good enough.' Yue thought Shen was a total noob since people labeled him a big noob. Because of his title, she did not expect that much from Shen.

'I have to be serious, or else I will embarrass myself in front of him.' She held the spear tightly and regained her stance. 'I can't match his speed. The best way to play this out is to counter him instead of attacking him aggressively.' Just like that, Yue got serious from the start.

She planned to go easy on him, but if he was this good, she had to go all out. This was no longer a friendly fight but a battle for her pride. She boasted that she had been fighting the pro player, on top of that, more reason not to lose.

Shen expected a quick reaction from her as she thrust the spear toward him. Learning his lesson from the first exchange, Shen took the light step to the right, avoiding the spear aimed for his chest. Then he made a motion that he would rush over to her, but it was a feint.

Sure enough, Yue swung the spear toward him again. Shen rolled in the opposite direction, thinking he would catch Yue in surprise. After he rolled down and got up, Yue was already in motion to launch a kick toward him. He recalled that her kick was similar to a move in taekwondo.

Shen wanted to catch her in surprise, but it was the opposite. The kick was unexpected to Shen, but he quickly reacted by crossing his sword on his chest. The kick landed on the wooden sword, but he blocked the kick perfectly since his stat was higher than Yue's stat.

'This is my chance!' Shen's eyes brightened as he saw a chance. One of her feet was in the air, and her footing was not stable. A slight push, he could push her down. For some reason, the thought of copying Yue's kick crossed his mind, and he did it.

Shen turned his back against Yue and launched the kick. He was about to raise his foot, but her wooden spear hit his back. She knocked him down with another unexpected kick, and he fell forward.

When Shen turned around, he saw Yue was smiling at him. It was not a mocking smile but a victorious smile. As if she was telling him that she knew all his plans.
