Chapter 5613 Thirty Percent Chance?

Chapter 5613 Thirty Percent Chance?

“Fairy Jiang Yue’e, may I be so bold as to ask you for some favor? Could you leave this monkey to me? I’ll treat you to a meal later,” said Long Chen casually as he approached, his steps light.

He wore a faint smile as he addressed Jiang Yue’e, putting her in an awkward position.

Her battle with Long Zaiye was not something she could easily abandon. It wasn’t just a matter of personal pride—it was related to the balance of power among the four divine clans.

The four divine clans might say to everyone else that they were one united family, but in truth, they were locked in constant competition. Among them, the Long and Jiang clans held a slight edge over the other two. The rivalry among their younger generation was not just about talent but also about authority and dominance.

Because of this, even knowing she was at a disadvantage, Jiang Yue’e had no choice but to fight. As an expert, she couldn’t make excuses. Yet, Long Chen had interrupted and clearly intended to challenge Long Zaiye himself.

In theory, Long Chen’s intervention could be advantageous for Jiang Yue’e. Even if Long Chen couldn’t defeat Long Zaiye, forcing the latter to reveal a few trump cards would give her a better chance in her next challenge.

However, Jiang Yue’e was far too proud to rely on such a tactic. Moreover, she valued Feng Fei as a younger sister. If Long Chen died here, Feng Fei would likely suffer a blow from which she could never recover.

“Have you thought this through?” asked Jiang Yue’e seriously.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

This was her final warning for Long Chen. Challenging Long Zaiye was not a joke. Once the fighting started, no one else could help him.

“What is there to think about? You and Fairy Feng Fei should just drink some tea and have some refreshments. When I start beating up this fellow, make sure to cheer for me,” replied Long Chen casually.

“You…”  Jiang Yue’e was infuriated by his nonchalance.

Before she could say more, Feng Fei spoke up. “Big Sister Yue’e, just let him do as he pleases.”

At first, Feng Fei had been worried about Long Chen. She knew exactly how terrifying Long Zaiye was. But when she saw the confidence in Long Chen’s gaze, her fear began to dissipate.

Jiang Yue’e hesitated but eventually retreated to the Jiang clan’s camp, her actions watched by countless astonished onlookers. She was also a peak heavenly genius with countless subordinates. However, she only trusted Feng Fei because the latter was truly sincere in following her. Other than her loyalty, Jiang Yue’e respected her little sister’s intelligence.

“Are you really not worried about him?” asked Jiang Yue’e.

“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t,” said Feng Fei, sighing. “But no one can change his mind once it’s made up. If you didn’t step back, he would still attack Long Zaiye, putting you in an awkward position. Let him fight if he wants.”

“Do you think he can win?”

“I’d give him a thirty percent chance,” Feng Fei replied as she watched Long Chen swagger toward his opponent.

“That high? Are you sure?”

“I’m not. But I’ve noticed that no matter who he fights, he always seems to have at least a thirty percent chance of winning. He’s full of tricks and wouldn’t send himself to his death for nothing. If he didn’t think he had that chance, he wouldn’t be here.”

Feng Fei smiled wryly at the mention of Long Chen’s tricks. Only those who truly knew him would understand what they were.

Now, Long Chen stood where Jiang Yue’e had been, facing off against Long Zaiye. The atmosphere grew heavy with tension.

The smile on Long Chen’s face slowly faded, replaced by a cold killing intent. The closer he got to Long Zaiye, the hotter his fury burned. This was a man whose hands were stained with the blood of nine star heirs.

All nine star heirs Long Chen had encountered were heroic figures who had fought for the human race. He refused to believe they could have been villains.

The two men stared at each other in utter silence. The oppressive atmosphere was suffocating, and the crowd held its breath.

“When he’s not being a fool, he really does have the presence of an expert,” Jiang Yue’e murmured, surprised by the change in Long Chen’s aura.

“This fellow is a master of deception,” said Feng Fei, her heart pounding. “Many people have underestimated him and paid the price with their lives.”

Feng Fei had seen countless powerful experts and heroes from the mortal world and immortal world. But no one had ever shaken her like Long Chen had. Perhaps the reverence she had for him was closer to adoration.

What Feng Fei idolized the most about Long Chen was his mentality—the drive to not retreat or lower his head no matter what difficulties or dangers he faced.

Feng Fei knew Long Chen’s history very well, and that was why she was especially impressed by his drive and lifeforce.

A child robbed of his Spirit Blood, Spirit Root, and Spirit Bone had clawed his way to the top by defeating countless experts. Among the myriad heavenly geniuses of the nine heavens and ten lands, who else could do this?

Her admiration for Long Chen was a mixture of awe, pity, and something she couldn’t quite define. Whether it was love or not, she couldn’t say. But no one else stirred her heart the way he did. What she felt wasn’t necessarily romantic love. Liking someone didn’t always mean possessing them. Sometimes, silently cherishing someone from a distance was enough.

Long Chen and Long Zaiye stood face-to-face. One was a peerless heavenly genius from the primal chaos era, known for his brutal victories over the legendary nine-star heirs, while the other was a warrior who had clawed his way up from the bottom rungs of the mortal world, creating one miracle after another against impossible odds. Both were peerless heavenly geniuses who had defied fate.

Both men radiated brilliance, their halos illuminating the era. As their sharp gazes locked on each other, a palpable killing intent emanated from their bodies. This was the calm before the storm.

“Interesting,” Long Zaiye said, his mouth curling into a sinister grin that revealed rows of sharp teeth, giving him the appearance of a demonic monkey. “I had no real desire to fight you, but now I feel like you might offer some amusement. I’m curious—how much of my power can you withstand?”

“This guy is about to suffer,” murmured Feng Fei, a knowing smirk tugging at her lips.

Her words caught Jiang Yue’e off guard. Just as she was about to ask what Feng Fei meant, a sharp, resounding noise erupted, silencing everyone.

Pow!

It was a familiar sound to Feng Fei’s ears. The crisp sound of flesh meeting flesh echoed through the battlefield.

Jiang Yue’e froze in stunned disbelief, her eyes widening as the scene unfolded.
