[Nightmare]

Chapter 177 [Worked For Me]

The front door to Trekim opened, and a young man walked through the door.

The room fell silent.

There were nearly one hundred people present, but Helix couldn't hear anything besides shifting utensils.

Helix panned the room with wide eyes.

"Ummm. Hello? Is something wrong?"

"Hellie!" Charlotte cried after realizing why people stopped eating.

Marie and Riley called out too.

Suddenly a ripple of applause spread through the restaurant, and an explosion of cheers followed.

Helix accepted the hugs with a nonplussed expression.

"Did something happen?" He chuckled nervously.

He had never been so confused before.

"Did something happen? You arrived, dummy!" Charlotte snapped.

"Everyone sees you as a savior now." Marie announced merrily.

"It's wonderful, isn't it?" Riley asked.

Helix's eyes trembled in a panic.

He didn't know what to say in situations like this.

"Ummm. Thank you—"

Applause detonated in the room before he could say [for coming out].

"Psst. What should I say?" He asked Marie.

"I don't know. Let's eat or something?" She giggled.

Helix closed his eyes with appreciation.

"Today we celebrate! Let's eat!" He roared.

A wave of excited cheers washed over the place.

"Haaaaaah. Bringing the Hellie commander flair to simple statements." Charlotte said with a grin.

"What else am I supposed to do?" Helix cried under his breath.

The women started giggling.

They led him to the main table and sat him down in his seat.

He was officially next to Millie, who turned bright red.

Her face triggered gentle laughter and giggles in the room.

Helix smiled and tried to prevent his face from cramping.

Charlotte sat on the other side of Millie with a pouting expression.

Marie took his right, and Riley sat to her left.

In the group's eyes, Helix was similar to a king, and Marie was their general.

Charlotte and Riley were the Brigade Leaders by analogy.

So it was [politically] right to have Marie next to him.

However, he planned to break that misperception whenever he wanted to.

Charlotte and Riley were equally valuable, and he could care less about what a pack of lanky technically ex-virgins thought.

Helix looked around.

Everyone was still quiet and watching him.

He groaned inwardly but decided to play the role they thrust on him for the occasion.

"How does it feel to live normally for a day?" Helix chuckled.

Cheers exploded in the room, and a wave of answers similar to [amazing] followed.

"Did you try the other Alka flavors?" He asked with a slight smile.

More applause followed.

"Good! Let's enjoy these appetizers and enjoy the rest." He requested with a warm smile.

"Also… I'm not sure how I ended up with these beautiful women, but….

I'm an anti-social otaku like the rest of you.

So… please don't take awkward replies as coldness."

Helix laughed awkwardly after his admission, and a wave of bewildered laughter followed.

People couldn't believe what they heard.

"It's true." Marie giggled with a stunning smile.

"Helix didn't think anyone had feelings for him.

We all confessed and fought for him.

We decided on this relationship; he just accepted it."

Excited gasps filled the room.

Helix sighed when he saw the otaku's anticipation-filled faces.

"It's true—"

Explosions of cheers carpet-bombed the area, and the corner of Helix's mouth started twitching.

When they quieted down, he finished his statement to end the conversation.

"I guess I'm proof that you don't need social skills to get women." Helix chuckled.

Laughter followed, and his partners' faces lit up with smiles.

"While we're on the subject." He said with a slight smile.

"You'll probably hear that I sigh a lot. It's true.

A person wanted to know how it was possible to have women like you despite that before I left." He chuckled with a bright expression.

Everyone hushed down, and Peter's face turned bright red.

Many took notice, including his friends, who started chuckling.

Three men, in particular, were staring at Helix with wide eyes.

"To answer your question…."

Helix panned the tables he could see.

"I have no fucking clue."

Stunned silence hit the room, and a wave of laughter exploded shortly after.

Peter sighed with a bitter-sweet expression.

He was glad that Helix heard his message and was kind to him.

The young man was one of the jealous people who bickered about him while he was [alive].

Helix gave everyone a charming smile.

"I'm being honest. However, I can tell you what people have told me and give you my thoughts."

Excited whispers washed through the room.

After learning that his [sigh charm] became a cult classic, Helix chuckled in bewilderment.

He raised his hand casually but unofficially to quiet the otakus down.

"I can tell you now that sighing doesn't have a charm." Helix laughed.

"If you sighed in experimentation and got a bitter reply—that's normal. I got a lot of those."

Laughter burst through the walls and filled the streets.

"There are plenty of Alzerian otaku women in this room that can testify to that."

"It's true!" Tanya laughed.

"I hated it." Mary followed with a nod.

"I was bitter for a week!" Petra huffed.

Gasps of surprise washed over the room.

"See?" Helix asked with a mysterious smile.

Wide eyes turned from the women to Helix.

"However, they always came back to me…."

He burst into laughter when he realized what the common denominator was.

"Because… hahaha… it was… haha… convenient!"

The female super otakus erupted into laughter, leaving the power-weebs and males baffled.

"I'm a search engine, and there's… no internet… hahaha!" Helix cried.

A wave of understanding met his words, and people laughed and giggled.

"I… haha… I think that's why women talked to me, but…." He scoff-laughed with smiling eyes.

"They realized I wouldn't turn them down if they needed help."

Helix looked at the table with a gentle smile, and the female super-otakus cheered.

Many of the male otakus followed with bright expressions.

Millie nodded with a bright expression.

"Exactly!" Kimmie called out.

"He helped me a lot in retrospect!" Leo laughed.

"Me too!" Sarah chuckled.

"I realized how much I came to you once you were gone…." Kyle said awkwardly.

An explosion of laughter from the super-otakus entered the room.

"That sucked sometimes." Helix laughed.

More laughter followed.

"Wheeeeew. I got the most insane requests because I wouldn't turn people down."

The Knights quieted down.

"I've turned people into women to get their swords back—"

Laughter broke the soundwaves, and his partners chuckled.

"I created a hot spring for the male otakus…." Helix began.

"Then no one showed up, and I got blamed for it sucking."

People were doubling over in laughter.

"I created a person's clone during practice so that they appeared to be present." Helix said with a grin.

"The kid got their ass beat by our teacher when he found out…. I got blamed for that too…."

Cries from people's sides splitting were becoming unbearable.

"I've researched where to buy lotion… I'm not going to say what gender the querier was."

People started slapping the table in pain.

"People saw Emelia's smiling face and asked me how to give a back massage to their servant." Helix chuckled with a warm smile.

Many people quieted down instantly.

"I said I didn't do that, and they thought I was an asshole for not releasing trade secrets."

Those that quieted down burst into laughter again.

"I haven't answered everyone's request." Helix chuckled.

Many took deep breaths so they could continue listening.

"For example, someone asked me if the world was round here."

Helix panned the audience.

"I told him it didn't matter in either world, so I didn't want to bring that stupid fucking debate to Myriad."

Otakus and weebs started gasping for air between breaths.

"Someone asked me what the most popular names for babies were in Myriad." Helix chuckled.

"I told them to ask me in ten years."

The staff was dying.

They didn't even understand why his words were funny, but the laughter was contagious.

"Look. Most of you are ridiculously beautiful and handsome now." Helix laughed.

"So just be kind, useful, and let people walk over you until they find you interesting."

People looked at him with wide eyes.

"That's… the worst advice of all time, but… it worked for me, I guess."

Marie, Charlotte, and Riley cheered, and Millie turned bright red.

Otakus and weebs started cheering in a frenzy.
