Chapter 20: Can You Beat Him?
Chapter 20: Can You Beat Him?
Ibro didn't need to ask his system about this spell, as he figured out its effects. He watched the deterioration over that fiend, and then he began to focus over that summoning vortex.
This spell was made to inject a tremendous unbelievable amount of energy from the body of that fiend towards that vortex. That would shorten a lot of time indeed; however it was truly a suicidal act.
Even if this fiend managed to summon his ancient being earlier than Ren, that wouldn't change anything. Ibro was still immersed inside this vortex, which provided him with an extreme sense of security.
He wasn't afraid from that fiend's summon, instead he was eager to see who would show up here. Something told him that whoever would show up from that vortex would be recognized by Ren.
So, Ibro stood his grounds, or this strange vortex, and did nothing. As for Ren, he had already started absorbing the energy from that vortex. However, what that fiend did was noticed by him.
He knew that fiend was trying to accelerate things here, but what the fiend or Ibro didn't know was the ability of Ren to totally absorb this energy and finish the summon process instantly.
However he didn't do that, as he wanted to know who will be summoned by this fiend. He already had a theory in his mind, that just thinking about it made him extremely enraged.
He needed to know whose from his old fellows had fallen in the hands of the demon clan.
As for the fiend himself, he already became mad. All he cared about was to finish this summon here, let this old monster loose, and then try to escape from this fate.
The only way out of here was through that vortex, but now he had to improvise. They said once a challenge was issued, no one could escape it. It was fated, and it seemed his fate judged him to stay here.
He needed to escape here, however that enemy that he personally sought to challenge was eyeing him all the time.
He knew he couldn't run a few meters away before he would end up with Ibro's face. He needed to keep Ibro busy, and even try to kill him if he could.
So all options led to the need to finish summoning this ancient being as fast as possible, even faster than Ibro's summon spell.
The clock was ticking, as the fiend had already used all his cards and burnt all his ships for just this slim chance of escape. On the other hand, Ibro was enjoying his stay inside that vortex, not worrying about anything.
Ibro knew down his soul, no matter what that fiend tried to do, he would crush it without any problems now. His major concern was relieved and now all he needed to do was to wait for Ren to show up and end this challenge.
He still had a lot of things to catch up with, people he needed to check at, and after this challenge he would gain another territory, a town, that he needed to arrange and organize.
That was all on one side, and the worlds attached on this challenge were another issue. Ibro was curious, how would these worlds be related to him? Would there be teleportation gates like the ones he had inside his worlds?
Could he control all the living souls there? Or there would be another war waiting for him?
The wait was destined to be over, as the fiend sacrifice made his summon spell to finish. Ibro felt a sudden change in the atmosphere around the fiend and his summoning vortex.
He wasn't alone, Ren also felt it. The summon spell was about to be completed, so Ren didn't need to hold back and started to act instantly to finish his summon.
The time needed for any summoning spell using the altar depended mainly upon the amount of energy injected into the altar. Regarding the endless amount of energy provided from the vortex, Ren could finish this spell in one second only, and there would be some extra.
'Be ready, I will finish the summon and absorb the energy from this vortex at the same time.'
Ibro felt astonished, as he felt Ren would need more time to end his summon, so he asked with doubt:
'Are you sure?'
'Yes, I could have ended the summon long time ago, however I didn't.'
'It's the other altar.'
Ibro muttered as he guessed the aim of Ren from doing this.
'Be ready, this isn't the time or place to speak about such things. I will end the summon now.'
Just as he said it, he did it. Ibro didn't give the issue of summoning Ren any consideration regarding how Ren would be like when he would be summoned.
So when Ren was summoned, Ibro was stupefied. In front of him there was a giant, not a man.
Ren was five hundred meters tall, with an aura surrounding him. Ibro felt sheer force hitting his body just from this aura.
'Don't move, you can only summon me for one minute depending on your current level of soul sea.'
The voice of Ren came into Ibro's mind to make him feel shock and doubt. He didn't think Ren would last for one minute only, however he was content with that.
One minute with this giant super power was really something; he could now be more confident in finding Sefiera and save her. He just earned himself a mighty card that would be a life saver in the future.
"I knew it; you filthy demons had tainted one of my friend's altars."
Ren's voice echoed with extreme anger and hatred that made Ibro return to reality again and focus on the ancient being that was summoned by the fiend.
What was summoned wasn't an ancient fiend or demon like Ibro thought, it was another giant. Ibro glanced at him then at Ren while saying:
'Can you beat him?'
