Necromancer Of The Shadows

Chapter 1250 Deliver A Message

Chapter 1250  Deliver A Message

Blaze stared at the shocking scene before her, her eyes wide open in disbelief. She had initially planned to take advantage of the situation, using the vampires' attack on Evan as a distraction to escape.

However, seeing the blood and brain matter splattered across the ground and the headless corpses of the vampires, she immediately abandoned the idea as she felt that if she attempted to flee, her fate would likely be the same as theirs—her body crushed into meat paste by the overwhelming spiritual power.

After killing the vampires, Evan calmly retrieved their bodies and stored them inside his storage ring. He refrained from turning them into shadow undeads, not wanting to perform such actions in front of Blaze.

Once the bodies were put away, Evan turned to face Blaze. The moment his gaze fell upon her, the Phoenix felt her heart tighten with unease and she subconsciously took a step back.

Evan, however, ignored Blaze's wary expression and approached her with a smile on his face.

"Wh-what do you want from me?" Blaze stuttered, attempting to keep her voice calm but failing to hide the nervous tremor.

Evan stopped just beside her, his tone casual as he replied.

What do you mean, 'What do I want?' It's been so long since I last saw my sister. Of course, I just want to have a good talk with you."

Upon hearing Evan's words, Blaze cursed inwardly. 'I would be a chicken instead of a phoenix if I believed a single word you said!'

She took a deep breath, steadying herself, and narrowed her eyes.

"Are you also here to take that thing from me?" She asked bitterly. If it had been just the vampires, she was confident she could have escaped, even if it would have been difficult.

But after witnessing Evan effortlessly crush the vampires with his spiritual power, her confidence had crumbled entirely.

She had encountered many powerful individuals who specialized in spiritual power before, but she had never seen a mid-level Rank Three Core Evolver wield it with such devastating force.

Even for a Peak Rank Four Core Evolver, killing a Peak Rank Three Core Evolver using only spiritual power is an extremely difficult feat. Yet Evan had done it as if it were child's play.

Although she wasn't sure how he had achieved such a level of power, she was certain that his spiritual energy was exceptionally strong and impossibly pure. Against such an opponent, even if she used all her abilities, she doubted she could hold her ground as he could likely kill her before she even had the chance to react.

When Evan heard Blaze's bitter question, he paused, momentarily taken aback.

'So I am being mistaken for a thief now…' He thought with a speechless expression. But then he recalled the various underhanded tactics he had employed in the Tomb of the Ancient, and even with his thick skin, he felt a twinge of embarrassment and realised that it was normal for Blaze to think that he was here to rob her, just like the Vampires.

After a moment of silence, he adopted a righteous expression to cover his unease and replied.

"What are you talking about, Sister? I genuinely came here because I noticed you were in trouble," He said in a serious tone. "If I wanted to rob you, I wouldn't need to go through all this trouble. With my strength, I could simply take what I want without any effort."

Blaze opened her mouth to respond but quickly shut it again as she knew he was right. If Evan wanted to rob her, with his strength, he wouldn't need to play any games.

After a moment of silence, she took a deep breath and asked.

"If you don't want to rob me, then why did you help me?"

Evan smiled at her question and replied, "Didn't I already tell you? It's been so long since we last met. I just wanted to have a proper conversation with you."

Blaze's mouth twitched at his response, her expression clearly saying, I don't believe you for a second!

Seeing her sceptical look, Evan took a step forward, casually placing a hand on her shoulder as if they were old friends.

"Why are you acting like this, Sister? I really just want to have a nice talk with you."

Blaze immediately shrugged off his hand and glared at him.

"What do you want to talk about? Just tell me already."

Evan's gaze shifted to the direction where the Rank Four vampire was still battling Blaze's guard. Then, focusing his spiritual energy, he enveloped Blaze within its protective field.

"Let's find a different place to talk," He said calmly. Taking a step toward the edge of the Dark Forest, he disappeared in an instant.

Blaze's heart skipped a beat when she felt Evan's spiritual energy wrapping around her. For a moment, she thought he intended to kill her, but before she could react, the scenery around her blurred and even with her heightened perception, she could only tell that they were moving rapidly toward the forest's exit.

As Evan dashed forward, he activated the void energy within his core, creating a small rift in the fabric of space. The rift expanded slightly before swallowing both him and Blaze.

Blaze's vision darkened momentarily, and when it cleared, she realized they were already outside the Dark Forest.

Before she could fully process this, her surroundings blurred once again. In the next moment, she found herself so far from the forest that she couldn't sense it, even with her spiritual perception.

"You are planning to return to Star City, right?" Evan's voice broke her dazed thoughts. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Blaze hesitated briefly before nodding.

Seeing her response, Evan stopped using his spiritual power to shield her.

"We are far enough from the Dark Forest now," He said in a calm voice. "No one should be able to catch up to you. Star City isn't far from here; you should be able to reach it in a few hours."

Blaze hesitated again, then finally nodded. "Thank you for your help."

Evan smiled at her gratitude, waving his hand dismissively.

"What are you talking about, Sister? I couldn't just let those leeches bully you, could I?"

Blaze's mouth twitched at his words as she could tell it was a blatant lie but chose not to call him out on it. Instead, she nodded and said, "You mentioned you wanted to talk about something."

Evan nodded, his smile returning. "Right. Actually, I need you to help me deliver a message to your Clan Leader on my behalf."
