Chapter 204
After dinner, her convenient little brother volunteered to clear out the bowls and chopsticks. Meanwhile, Ji Qingqing spent a while searching the ‘Bankruptcy App’ online.
With one quick search, there were s all over. She wondered how a company with such a name actually managed to attract a bunch of people not in the right mind to borrow loans.
Also, it didn’t have much negative news. It was unknown if they had been suppressed or if no one had been scammed by them.
“Sis, how did it go?”
Her convenient little brother washed the bowls and did a clean-up of the area. His face filled with joy when he entered the room and spotted Ji Qingqing researching the company’s information.
Ji Qingqing glanced at him then closed her laptop. “I did a brief search and didn’t manage to find anything. I reckon that there also won’t be any information online. We’ll leave it at this today. I’ll ask some other people tomorrow. I’m a little tired. I’ll take a bath first and you should have an early rest too.”
“Ok, Sis, have an early rest. Good night.”
“Good night.” Ji Qingqing yawned and entered the bathroom.
Her convenient little brother left her room. He stood outside the door, scratched his head, and sighed. His expression looked defeated.
His issue didn’t seem easy to resolve. If not, his sis wouldn’t be having such a hard time solving it.
The doorbell sounded.
He glanced at the time. It was 9.30 pm. His eyebrows furrowed.
It’s so late. Who is it?
He peered through the door’s peephole and looked outside. A man dressed in a suit and shoes was standing outside the door. His sharp gaze bore into the peephole. Both he and Ji Qingqing’s little brother looked at each other. Even though it was apparent that the peephole could not show what was inside the house, he nearly believed that the man outside could see him.
His face turned grimmer.
In the previous years, his sis had dated two boyfriends. He could still remember those two brother-in-laws-to-be. One had no money and his sis dumped him. So what if she dumped him? It wasn’t a big deal. His sis was so outstanding, the issue was most likely with the guy. In the future, she’ll definitely find a better one!
Meanwhile, the other that had money, dumped his sis. When it comes to treating those bastards, he will never act polite towards them. Those types of bastards sure ran fast enough. If not, he would have kicked them a couple more times!
Afterwards, his sis entered the entertainment industry. And in recent years there were often rumors, saying that she’s mingled around with a couple of men. He had always scoffed at those rumors until a man named Gu Shaoyu appeared. At that time, he could tell that the guy wasn’t a good person. And later on, his suspicions were confirmed. He really was a bastard!
The man outside the door looked familiar, but he couldn’t recall who he was immediately on the spot. However, seeing the way he was dressed in a suit and shoes and coming here this late, he could bet that this guy most likely harbored some sort of intentions for his sister. Guys that harbored intentions for his sister definitely wouldn’t be a good person so he automatically categorized him together with Gu Shaoyu and others.
Luckily, he was here today. If he wasn’t, when his sis opened the door, who knows what would have happened?
He opened the door and looked at the man who was just a little bit taller than him. His looks were okay and at the very least was somewhat compatible with his sis. It’s just that underneath that polished exterior, who knows how he’s really like?
“Who are you?”
As her convenient little brother studied Lu Lixing, Lu Lixing also studied him too.
That way he stood outside made it look as if he regarded himself as the owner of the house.
TL note: Lu lixing’s impression of the little brother
Lu Lixing narrowed his eyes. “Who are you?”
“Who cares? None of your business!” Her hot-headed brother reached out to close the door.
Lu Lixing held the door with one hand and grimly looked at him. “I’m looking for Ji Qingqing.”
Her convenient little brother raised his eyebrows. “She’s bathing. It’s already so late. Why are you here? If you have something, let me know and I’ll pass it on to her. If there’s nothing else, then leave. It’s already so late. We need to sleep.”
Lu Lixing’s face instantly darkened. He glared at her little brother who looked like he was asking for trouble. Pronouncing each word slowly, he asked, “What did you say?”
