Chapter 192 192 - Wind
Chapter 192 192 - Wind
"Another red portal," said Ryan, as he gazed at the view of dozens of mountains hundreds of kilometers high. On top of it, there were about twenty gigantic flying islands that obstructed the view a little.
Between the mountains, rivers fell dozens of meters, forming a lake in the lowest part of the forest. In the center of the mountains, the largest island had a hole in the middle that gushed water downwards.
Like a pillar of water, the island seemed to rest on the ground like a gigantic tree. Even the colossal trees there, which easily exceeded thirty ten meters in thickness, seemed small compared to the islands in the sky.
And illuminating the area, the air crystals reflected the sunlight, making it difficult for Ryan to look up at times.
"Let's find the boss of this place and get out of here. I want to close a few more portals," said Ryan, who began to jump between the trees with ease.
Going from one branch to another, he ran through the forest with surprising speed. Walking between the gigantic trees in a wall run, he cut down the branches that appeared in the middle of his path with gusts of air. One after the other, he destroyed the obstacles with ease, keeping his breathing rhythmic as he ran.
In front of him, Ryan heard the laugh of a monkey echoing throughout the area. The sound was so loud and clear that it seemed to be meters ahead, although to his discerning eyes, the animal was far away. "WUWUWUUHAHAHAHAHAH"
"We've found the first animal here..." said Ryan, as he took a deep breath and pulled out his new sword from his inventory.
<It looks like a jade gorilla to me>
- From the location, we're probably in the center of the wind forest -
<So it's not a jade gorilla>
"What does that mean?" Ryan said, confused.
- The wind forest is four kingdoms away from Crystaldrift. It's an uninhabited region with a gigantic amount of wind crystals -
*Vwuush*
Hundreds of trees shattered in front of Ryan, who jumped backwards in surprise. There were two gorillas over four meters tall fighting each other, the imposing roars of one chasing away the other who remained silent. They both seemed to be injured, with cuts and bleeding on their arms.
Their coloring was a mixture of green and brown. The green fur had two colors, one darker and the other lighter, which marked the arms and back in stripes.
"WOOOUUUHH GUAKAA"
"WOHU OGU OGU" The animals chattered as they ran.
The gorilla at the front was launching blasts of wind, breaking trees, rocks and eliminating vegetation. All to keep running away from his opponent.
The gorilla behind was launching slashes of wind that hit his opponent's back, creating scratches that were spreading blood through the plants. But in their desperation to escape, the wind attacks seemed to be helping the desperate gorilla.
<Let's help them.>
'Wait a minute,' thought Ryan, who was intently observing the behavior of the two animals.
'I need to learn how they fight,' he concluded, as he crouched down on a log and watched the confrontation intently.
As the monkeys advanced, Ryan leapt between the branches in his shadow form. With ease, he dodged the pieces of wood while remaining undetected by the two animals.
Advancing through the forest, the battle between the two gorillas continued to be extremely violet. The skin of the running animal was being torn off, shattering as it fled in desperation. Launching downwind attacks, it jumped the uneven ground.
The beast behind seemed to be angry, and with a roar of rage he ended the duel with a single wind attack. Puffing out his chest, he gathered a sphere of air in both hands.
<Tap your ears! NOW!
Ryan quickly placed both hands between his head, preventing his ear from being compromised by the attack. Just then, a gigantic explosion occurred. Hundreds of trees were pushed aside as branches were thrown away completely destroyed
The fleeing gorilla was finally defeated, the animal falling to the ground with a hole in the center of its back. It was as if the wind had cut all the way through its skin to its crystal. Looking at its opponent, the victorious gorilla began to clap its hands on its chest, as if in celebration.
Then the animal turned back the way it had come. But before it could even take its third step, Ryan hit it with a single sphere of fire.
"Now I know how they behave," said Ryan, who jumped out of the tree and landed on his feet in the tall undergrowth of the forest.
Looking at the bodies of the two gorillas, Ryan was able to understand a little better how these monsters worked.
"The magic comes from their core and passes through these markings, then it's shot out through their hands or chest"
- That's how wind zebras work -
"Yes, wind zebras use their stripes to run faster, someday I want to have one"
So Ryan did the same as the gorilla that was running away. Channeling his energy, he launched a strong wind attack downwards, creating a momentum big enough to launch him into the trees. Running through the trunks and branches, he began to follow the path the animals had come from, all in search of the boss of that place.
'If that wasn't the boss, the real boss must probably be much bigger'
<Bigger than that?
- An alpha animal can be three times the size of an ordinary one -
<Oh like Ryans d...>
"Be quiet"
Nyx had no idea what other men's tools were like, but she had looked them up on the internet out of curiosity. What's more, she remembers Ryan's memories before he became a Lord.
As he jumped from tree to tree, the sound of his footsteps and leaps was soon silenced by a strange noise that echoed throughout the forest. Looking up, Ryan had one of the most bizarre sights of his entire life.
All the islands were moving, creating a sound that resembled breaking rocks. The vibration was so great that it passed through the wind and could even be felt in the body. The wind crystals sang a crystalline sound that wasn't too unpleasant, and after a few minutes, the noise stopped.
"The order of the islands has been changed," he thought, as he paid attention; it was as if the islands had simply swapped places of their own accord. However, the island with the hole in the center of the forest remained fixed and untouched.
* VWUUUUUUUSH*
A gigantic snake emerged from the water, crossing the forest as it climbed through the hole that pierced the island. The animal had shiny scales that reflected all the colors of the rainbow, while its red eyes and white spines threw particles of water all over the area.
<I think I've found the boss>
"He's big, maybe he's the main boss, but I'd rather avoid an unnecessary confrontation"
<Well, it would be more fun to fight it>
"It certainly would be, but I don't want to go to the trouble of eliminating that snake only to discover that I needed to kill some monkey"
<But what if it turns out to be the other way around? You run after the monkey when you need to eliminate a snake?
"You're going to jinx me if you keep saying that," Ryan said.
*Sigh
Ryan continued along the forest path, coming across a gigantic ravine a few kilometers ahead. The place had a gigantic drop, with a waterfall that created a lake and a gigantic tree. Looking up, Ryan could already see dozens of gorillas identical to the ones he had spotted earlier.
"We found them," Ryan concluded, and taking his sword out of its sheath, he began to channel his mana through the weapon.
The energy transition he had with the sword was not very different from the one he had when having sex with a woman. His energy went in, was absorbed and then returned to him. Unlike the case with the girls, he threw the absorbed energy out.
"Wind blade"
As Ryan's mana entered the sword, an aura of wind appeared around the blade. All the air around Ryan began to concentrate on the sword, and with the help of a wind crystal, Ryan was able to channel much more energy than he normally could.
Jumping close to the waterfall, Ryan sliced the air with his sword, causing it to fall like a feather to the ground. The silence meant that the gorillas didn't notice him at first, but as he advanced, the guards realized his presence.
* HOOO HOO WHHAAAAARUUHOOOO *
The guards started shouting, and more than twenty gorillas appeared lined up in front of Ryan. Quickly, the striped markings on the gorillas began to glow, as they charged their attacks.
"I told you it was good to have observed the fight," said Ryan, with a confident smile.
Putting his sword aside, he took a deep breath as he put an absurd amount of energy into his weapon. A whirlwind appeared in front of him and with a scream of fury the beasts launched their brutal attacks, throwing up a wall of air at high speed.
