Chapter 3900 Preparations
Chapter 3900 Preparations
"I am tired of eating this pre-cooked shit. I want to eat something fresh!" cursed the old man.
"Then you should have learned to cook," replied Beastman. At whom, he glared before eating the food in front of him.
I have been in the cavern for the past three days and I have learned a lot by listening to these three.
The first thing is that the old man loves to complain. He is also a pervert; he came by the holes and looked at the bodies with sick emotions.
Like the two, he is also Sky Sovereign, but at the Initial stages; weakest of the three.
The Crab Beastman and the scaled woman are the strongest. The beastman is at the High-Level of Sky Sovereign, while the woman is at the Peak of Sky Sovereign.
They took turns with the formation, never leaving it unaccompanied.
All three of them are extremely cautious, never taking a step out of the cavern or even talking to people outside.
Even when they talk among themselves. They never take names.
I could deal with them, and I really want to, but that is not a mission.
I need to kill all of them, not a few. If I leave anyone alive; it will not take long for a new group of cultists to appear here.
Still, I need to find a way to send the message to my teammates.
I had told them to not get worried and to give me time, but every day that passed could make them act, and I didn't want to.
There are a few ways I could do that, but some are risky, and I would not use them unless I have no choice.
I sighed and pushed those thoughts aside before focusing on the formation. There is no way I would not meddle with the formations when I see one.
They are good, but I could mess with them without knowing, but the trick is to do that while they are using the formation.
They are always using the formation; that covers the cavern, tunnel, and other few areas.
I like these cultists. They are diligent, but no matter how much I like them.
I am going to kill them.
I moved cautiously, making changes slowly, while doing the bigger one, in the gap of a second when they switch places.
It might not seem much, but when you are prepared, a second is plenty.
For me, at the least.
I have added a freaking ancient formation in there, which they couldn't even see. It made things much easier, that by midnight, I would have control over the foundation and security formation.
As for the ritual formation. I didn't even touch that thing.
Despite common rune formation, it is complex.
These runes have power in them, that changes their meaning.
So, tinkering with them is a terrible thing and I shouldn't even look at them unless I have months to study and the method they have.
Hun!
Hours passed when I sensed a person coming in. He came from the right side; the way they refer to as the safe away.
Soon, the person comes into view.
It is a four-arm woman with pale red skin. I recognized her instantly and I have to say, I was surprised.
Though everything becomes clear, why Yorus can never find anything about the cultists, because their own member is part of them.
That woman is Nala Ales; the mayor's assistant.
"Anything?" asked the scaled woman and Ales nodded. "Yes, Yorus is going to send another party within two weeks and this time, this party is going to stay a lot longer," she replied.
'That news turned out to be useful,' I thought.
It was me who asked Tor to plant the news after one and a half weeks of my mission. It was to speed things up since I wasn't able to finish the mission.
There is no one coming, but the mayor doesn't need to know that, and neither do his people.
"Fuck! Why can't they just give us some peace and quiet!" cursed the old man.
"We will have to finish the ritual and lie low till they leave," said the scaled woman.
Ales didn't stay for long. A minute later, she left the way, they had come.
Her appearance had solved the biggest problem, I had. Communicating with my teammates. I had planted a seed in her; it would deliver the message to my teammates.
The message had news of my well-being and their further orders.
Now, things started to go my way, but I can't be complacent. I need to finish up my preparations quickly. One of the biggest priorities is to get control of the formation.
Hours passed, and it was time for them to change places again.
"You had said, you would give me a chance at the formation. I think I deserve one," said the old man suddenly.
"You will get the chance when the party comes. At least two of us, would need to be on formation when that happens," replied the woman, before getting up.
A moment later, she stepped out of the formation.
Immediately, I acted. Sliding the last piece made of ancient runes and common runes in its place. Completing the net over two formations before the beastman finished taking the step inside.
Now both of the formations are under my control. I could do anything I wanted with them.
"Yes!" I shouted, but they didn't hear me at all.
I blocked the noise, vibration, and energy through the formation covering my hole.
I did a few more tests before entering my core.
Immediately, a copy of the two formations appeared in front of me, including the formations I had added to them.
Now that I did it, I have to control it to do a few things.
I am confident in dealing with them, but a few extra preparations wouldn't hurt, given the space I have.
It might look calm, but it is extremely dangerous. Enough that even, I could die. I don't want to die, thus making the preparations as robust as possible.
