Chapter 1273 The Cave of Beginnings

Chapter 1273  The Cave of Beginnings

With the knowledge he accumulated from his past life, as well as his absurdly high agility for his class rank, it only took around 10 minutes or so for Valyr to arrive at the periphery of the Cave of Beginnings.

"…Huh." Once there, the young man was slightly left at a loss for words at the sight that greeted him.

Considering the fact that he'd been selling quite a lot of equipment and other helpful items during the first two days Greater Beyond was released, Valyr thought that the number of groups that would wait around the dungeon would be far smaller than before.

After all, from what he read from the forums while he was still an NPC, it was only a matter of time before the players would move on to dungeons that were far more difficult than the Cave of Beginnings.

Yet, reality showed him that what happened instead was the exact opposite, with groups numbering in the dozens loitering around the entrance, all of them waiting to add a member that had at least one of his equipment into their party.

'…I see.' Though he did not know why the groups set such a criterion at first, the young man soon understood what was going on, bitterly smiling as the sight in front of him was the result of a butterfly effect.

'With the help of the equipment I sold during the first two days, many players were able to clear the Cave of Beginnings at almost breakneck speeds, removing the vigilance one would show when entering a dungeon for the first time.'

'However, because of the incident that occurred between me and my past self, I eventually had to stop selling equipment altogether, forcing the players to become well aware of the dungeon's dangers once more.'

'Though, rather than use it as a way to temper themselves into players that could stand as equals in front of those that used my equipment to clear the dungeons, the players instead fell into greater despair.'

'In the end, they started thinking that the dungeons would only be cleared if they had someone with my equipment in their party, which might have spread to the new players that entered Greater Beyond for the first time.'

'…Or at least, that's how it looks to me,' thought Valyr to himself, briefly shrugging his shoulders as he spared another glance at the groups before pondering over what he should do next.

Though, with how some of the groups began to look at him with both curiosity and anticipation in their eyes, it did not take long for the young man to come up with an answer, heading straight into the opening that would lead him to the Cave of Beginnings.

'I suppose I should check out the dungeon for myself.' n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Whoosh!

Watching Valyr disappear from their field of vision, the groups that took note of his appearance all let out faint sighs of disappointment, having confirmed through their identification skills that he was kitted out from head to toe in the mythical equipment they were longing to see.

Yet, before any of them could even reach out to him, the young man had already made up his mind to head into the dungeon on his own, prompting many to think that they had missed their one opportunity to clear the dungeon's higher difficulties.

Indeed. Due to the fact that Valyr's equipment was significantly stronger than the drops they obtained from the Cave of Beginnings, many began to believe that his equipment was highly necessary if one wanted to clear the dungeon's higher difficulties.

However, with the NPC almost everyone recognized within the village disappearing all of a sudden, those same people began to feel a bit of despair, wondering where they'd get their hands on such powerful equipment at their level.

Of course, they did attempt to clear the dungeons through their own power at first, making sure to not rely on any of his equipment whatsoever.

Unfortunately, the farthest all of these groups got was clearing the Hard difficulty.

Then again, that was only thanks to most of these groups cooperating with one another, corroborating a strategy that allowed them to clear such a level of difficulty.

Naturally, they tried to clear the second-highest difficulty of the dungeon after that, confident that they would be able to clear it through their own efforts as long as they spent enough time on it.

Yet, unlike the Hard difficulty that came before it, the Insane difficulty of the dungeon seemed like an impassable wall to all of them, with even groups that were multiple levels higher than the recommended level failing to kill the difficulty's final boss.

Because of that, they came to the conclusion that there were only three ways to clear the last two difficulties of the Cave of Beginnings.

The first was to get one's hands on any of Valyr's equipment.

The second was to have someone who had his equipment join their party.

And the last was to be at an incredibly high level that the Insane and Nightmare difficulty of the dungeon would become mere child's play.

There were also those who thought that the key to beating the dungeon was improving their combat power through other means, combining both skills and strategies in order to clear the Insane difficulty for good.

Sadly, these people were shunned and ignored by the majority, many of them still certain that overwhelming power was the key to clearing the Cave of Beginnings' last two difficulties.

Thankfully, Valyr had no idea as to what these groups were thinking.

Whoosh!

Appearing within a corridor dimly lit with torches, Valyr looked around his surroundings for a bit before beginning to smile.

"It's just as I remember it," murmured the young man to himself, chuckling as he proceeded to walk through the corridor.

"Even the layout feels to be the same as I remember it."

Considering that he was only at the peak of Rank 0, only two difficulties were available for Valyr to choose from: the Easy difficulty and the Medium difficulty.

Not having much need for the drops at these difficulties, the young man eventually opted to go with the Easy difficulty, thinking of his excursion to the dungeon as another opportunity to test his current level of strength.

At the same time, he took it as an opportunity to answer a few more questions lingering in his mind.

"Then again, although the layout might be the same, would the enemies also be the same?"

"…Would the secret super-boss of the Cave of Beginnings also be the same?"
