Chapter 1064: Mystic Rune Alchemy

Chapter 1064: Mystic Rune Alchemy

"To be honest, Mystic Rune Alchemy is pretty simple," continued Mystia with her explanation. "In fact, you could say that its concept is simpler than normal alchemy."

"After all, the power of Mystic Energy relies on the intent that you put into it." At those words, Mystia grabbed another batch of ingredients from her table before releasing her Mystic Energy into the surroundings.

Making sure that she'd grabbed everything needed to create a Lesser Mana Rejuvenation Potion, she swiftly covered all of the ingredients in the Mystic Energy, allowing it to do its work as she shifted her gaze back at Valyr once more.

"If you have any questions before I start teaching you, feel free to ask."

"Why is it called Mystic Rune Alchemy?" Nodding at Mystia's words, Valyr went ahead and asked her what he considered the most glaring question in his mind. "I get that the Mystic part involves Mystic Energy, but where does the Rune part come into play?"

"Well, that..." Letting out a slight chuckle in response to Valyr's question, Mystia briefly gazed at the cocoon she created before deciding to toss another batch of ingredients towards

it.

Tossing yet another batch of ingredients for the Lesser Mana Rejuvenation Potion after that, Mystia briefly let out a bellow as she released more Mystic Energy into the surroundings. Whoosh!

Covering the two other batches of the same ingredients in a cocoon, a rune made out of Mystic Energy soon began to manifest above the cocoons of Mystic Energy, seemingly connecting the three cocoons together into one entity.

Looking at the rune that appeared for a bit, Mystia returned her attention back to Valyr before continuing where she left off. "That rune you see up there is where the Rune part comes in." While Valyr's gaze was still affixed towards the rune hovering above the three cocoons, the woman continued with her explanation. "Think of it this way. Mystic Rune Alchemy is the style of alchemy I've created in order to maximize both the quantity and the quality of the concoctions I make."

"By having Mystic Energy take on the role of the cauldrons, I could make sure that each concoction I create does not suffer a loss in quality due to other factors."

"Then, with the help of the runes, I could create multiple concoctions at the same time, which would be more difficult to do if one were to use multiple cauldrons."

"Of course, it's not impossible, especially if you put in the effort." Mystia shrugged her shoulders. "However, compared to Mystic Rune Alchemy, the difficulty of doing so is on the level of asking you to create a Reinforcement Elixir without any instructions."

"I see." Taking a bit of time to go over everything Mystia told him, Valyr eventually nodded back at her. "So, are you going to teach me now?"

"Give me just a bit more time," replied Mystia all of a sudden, reminding the young man that although she was explaining everything to him, she was still in the midst of concocting three batches of Lesser Mana Rejuvenation Potions at once.

'I guess the number of batches one could work on simultaneously depends on how strong one's mental power is,' thought Valyr to himself as he briefly glanced at three cocoons of Mystic Energy. 'If that's the case, then I'll probably be fine.'

'After all, I've already gotten used to wielding six pairs of arms at once while forging.' The young man faintly smiled at the thought. 'On second thought, considering that I could use Mystic Energy to make those arms as well, make that 10 pairs.'

'...Then again, I had less Mystic Energy that time. Now that I've increased its quantity... I could probably push it to 12 pairs, perhaps?'

While the young man was gradually delving deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole he'd gotten himself into, Mystia let out a sigh of relief as she willed the cocoons of Mystic Energy to disperse.

Swoosh!

Grabbing a large number of vials from her table with the help of her mana, she then positioned these vials at specific locations, finally allowing her to release her Mystic Energy for good.

Whoosh!

Watching three clouds of dark blue particles appear in the air, Mystia went ahead and scooped up all of these particles into the vials she brought out, easily filling up a number that would normally be considered three batches.

"Huh. Four batches." Hastily grabbing a bunch more vials from her table, it did not take long for all of the dark blue clouds to disappear, finally giving Mystia the leeway she needed as she chucked all of the potions she created into a rift.

"Let us begin." Closing up the rift she hastily opened, Mystia went ahead and looked at Valyr, who looked back at her after swiftly snapping back to reality. "I'll be teaching you the process of Mystic Rune Alchemy itself."

"Then, once you get the hang of it, Marcus will be teaching you the runes that allow for mass production," continued the woman, prompting Valyr's eyes to widen in slight surprise as he looked at the man she mentioned.

Seeing Valyr look at him with surprise, Marcus let out a chuckle in response before nodding, indirectly telling the young man with his gaze that he wouldn't have problems learning Mystia's style of alchemy.

Faintly nodding back in response, the young man then shifted his attention back to Mystia while inwardly apologizing to Marcus for subconsciously forgetting his presence all this time. "I've already said it before, but I'll say it again. Mystic Rune Alchemy is pretty simple," said the woman once Valyr was ready to listen.

"Think about the entire concoction process we've gone through." Valyr nodded at her words. "Now, infuse that intent into the Mystic Energy."

"That's the gist of Mystic Rune Alchemy," Mystia told the young man. "Of course, you have to infuse those intents step by step, though it is possible to control the energy to have those steps happening at the same time."

Seeing as Valyr was about to ask the difference between the two, the woman took it upon her to answer the thoughts in his mind. "In any case, I don't recommend doing the latter from the

start."

"Not only will you be using up more of your mental power to make it happen, but you'll be sacrificing the quality of the concoction as well since you've consumed more mental power in

the process."

Hearing those words, Valyr pondered over it for a bit before eventually nodding in response.

Telling Mystia that he was ready to begin his first attempt at Mystic Rune Alchemy, the woman went ahead and told Valyr everything he needed to know about concocting a Lesser Mana Rejuvenation Potion.

From the ingredients that were needed to create one, to the exact ratio needed for the desired effects to appear, Mystia went through all of those with the young man in greater detail.

Because of how thorough she was, it did not take long for the young man to prepare himself, sending out a bunch of white Mystic Energy into his surroundings.

Whoosh!

Briefly glancing at the Mystic Energy he'd sent out, Valyr did his best to refrain from sending out any intent to the energy for the meantime, shifting his attention towards his table of

ingredients.

Picking out all of the ingredients needed to make one batch of Lesser Mana Rejuvenation Potions, the young man then went ahead and threw them in the air, only to then will his

Mystic Energy to envelop all of them.

Swoosh!

Seeing that his Mystic Energy had taken on the form of the cocoon, Valyr faintly let out a long exhale as he infused the thought of purifying the ingredients into the energy, recalling all of the attempts he'd gone through thus far.

Because of how familiar he'd become with controlling Mystic Energy, it did not take long for the energy to respond to his thoughts, gradually removing all of the impurities within the ingredients he gave it from the inside out.

Considering that he had full control over the Mystic Energy, it went without saying that the entire process was as clear as day to the young man, causing his eyes to widen in surprise once

he saw how thorough the energy was in cleaning it.

Not letting his thoughts get the better of himself, Valyr quickly took a deep breath as he proceeded with the next step, infusing his Mystic Energy with the thought of extracting the essence from the purified ingredients.

Unsurprisingly, just like how thorough the energy was in cleaning the ingredients, the energy also took the extraction process to another level.

Without any difficulty, the Mystic Energy smoothly extracted every bit of essence from the ingredients themselves, even going so far as to discard all of the dregs that remained after it. Infusing his Mystic Energy with the thought of combining the essences according to a certain ratio, Valyr briefly shifted his focus towards his table, grabbing a bunch of vials that would be enough for a batch.

At the same time, the Mystic Energy did what it was told to do, deftly mixing the essences inside it according to the ratio it was given.

As if it had spent its entire life mixing things to perfection, the energy made sure that the combination of the essences were homogenous, slowly but surely turning what was initially a bombardment of various colors into a single color that Valyr was familiar with.

Dark blue.

Whoosh!

Getting the feeling that he'd gotten the mixture correct, Valyr went ahead and dispersed the Mystic Energy in the air, swiftly revealing a cloud of dark blue particles that looked similar to

what Mystia created just earlier.

Transforming his Prime Azure Energy into mana, he then scooped up the particles into the vials he grabbed, only to grab a couple more after seeing that he got a lot more out of the process than he initially thought.

"Huh. That was easier than I thought." Placing stoppers on all of the vials, Valyr had a satisfied smile on his face as he went ahead and used his identification skill on one of the

potions he just made.

Though, just as he was about to take a look at the item's description, a brief glance at both

Marcus and Mystia made him postpone that action... For they were both looking at him with immense shock.
