Chapter 62: Can he tame a demon?
"Damn demon, don't distract me now of all times," she muttered and rubbed her temples. Shaking her head once more, she didn't mind him anymore and left to stare at the Minotaur curiously instead.
Her lab robes had a clear splotch near the crotch.
"You have a lot of resolve to hold yourself back, Yuri, I'll give you that," Mark said, smiling. He put his hand into Dona's pants instead with a smile.
"So, Yuri, when do you think my Puppet will become a Hunter?"
"In a day at most." Yuri's black eyes were full of guarantee, and Mark couldn't help but feel relieved. She had guaranteed, so she was confident.
"You don't want a better lab to do it? This seems to lack even the stuff your previous lab had."
"Nah, this lab is enough." Yuri adjusted her uncomfortably wet panties and said, "I just have to pour some demon blood into your Puppet's blood circulation and successfully make the blood merge with his genetics.
"Adding foreign blood would usually make him die immediately because his blood would reject external things and will clot, though, so that's the challenge."
"So what's the plan?"
"I can implant the blood in incredibly small quantity and that too, in a mixed way. This Puppet of yours, for example, has an O-negative blood type; I already have some normal human blood that I will inject into him, and I will add extremely diluted demon blood along with it. Slowly, his rejection would vanish against the Demon Blood.
Mark nodded. "As long as you understand, it's fine. And by the way, no matter what, the Puppet shouldn't die."
"Of course, I am a professional," she said with a smirk and completely ignored him to focus on stopping the Minotaur's bleeding. Since it was near the hamster, it was still in a Dungeon, so, it wouldn't vanish.
Soon enough, the room only echoed with Dona's soft breaths and Yuri shifting test tubes here and there. She was still studying some things.
Mark pondered on what to do from here on out.
I have to get Shiden before he actually becomes an A-Rank Hunter…
There was also the matter of getting the animals from Yuri's previous lab here to make them bear his Dungeon Heart Seeds, and there were still things he had to do. But for now, Mark was ready to relax until his Puppet became a Hunter…
He'd move out once he gained that new Hunter Ability.
Just then, a call appeared on Yuri's tablet, and the woman frowned as she accepted it.
Choi Sung said from the other side, "We have an issue. The World-class lab you mentioned, I am outside it now, but it's not as safe as you think. There is a Dungeon Demon inside the lab, and it seems to have been there for a long time. It had already summoned a lot of Demons."
Yuri frowned. "That's… unfortunate. Well, do you think you can handle it on your own?"
"I don't know." Choi Sund said, "You can only know what Tier of Demon is inside the Dungeon by seeing it in the flesh. Entering deep into the dungeon by myself is basically suicide for me. There are a lot of Demonlings inside there, though, that's sure."
"How do you know that?" Yuri asked in frustration.
She really wanted that lab.
There must have been so much there to steal from.
"I did enter the periphery of the Dungeon, but…" Choi Sung's voice stuttered in abject fear. The moment I entered it, I felt my body buckle in fear. It was like a pair of eyes looked at me from all sides of the world inside that Dungeon, and the aura was suffocating. Even Mark didn't feel that intimidating. Not nearly. So I ran."
Mark frowned.
Soul Sense?
And he also grew curious.
What if, just in case, there was a Demon better than the Minotaur inside that Dungeon?
With that, Choi Sung cut the call from his side, and Yuri looked at Mark in askance.
"You do your research; I'll be back. Don't tell Choi Sung that I am on the way, and don't start adding blood to the Puppet just yet. Maybe I can bring a better Demon," Mark said, and with a giggling Dona in tow, he stood up.
He also took a bag filled with bottles of black water and kept the walkie-talkie inside the bag just in case he needed to contact Yuri.
Mark wasn't worried about this whole thing being Choi Sung's trap. If it was, Mark could just fly away, and he would be able to use his Soul Sense to see a trap incoming. But just in case, he asked Yuri to keep his arrival time a secret.
Even though she said there was no problem with a good or bad lab, Mark really would like that lab to be theirs, now more than ever. Especially considering it was a Dungeon.
There were two ways to defeat a Dungeon Demon. One was to find it and kill it in its lair. The other was to find its Dungeon Core and tame it to be your slave by gaining control over the core.
If he could somehow get the Dungeon Core of the Dungeon Demon inside that lab, he could tame it and make it loyal to him.
Then, he could also have a Dungeon as his lab. He would not have to worry about being 5 meters near Dona when inside the lab, then, at least.
He'd have a bit more freedom. He was also curious about what would happen if he planted a Dungeon Heart Seed in a Dungeon Demon.
And taming a Dungeon Demon sounded fun—he just needed to find the Core of its Dungeon. With Heart Input, that didn't seem impossible.
He could make it go find it by itself.
Outside the police station, with a powerful flap of his wings, Mark lifted up to the skies and followed Choi Sung's lingering smell towards the lab Yuri once mentioned to be world-class in quality.
Indeed, his nose could smell incredibly well and distinguish between the smells.
